Let's do this. Thanks for your sacrifice, Sergeant.

Comment #14 - Posted by: Ben at July 23, 2012 7:31 PM

@14, "squat clean" refers to your traditional, Olympic style clean, where the bar is caught in the bottom squat position.

SC's 155 for 1-7 and 135 for 8-9
24" box only and no fancy bumper plates to stack. Regular Olympic metal plates in the Stan.

This one was extremely difficult. Can't wait to get to a gym that I can just drop the wait and not control it to the ground with every rep. I feel like it is sucking up some of my extra energy and limiting my weight used in WOD's like this one.

@Jinsin311 - if you still have some gym time, do some active recovery. I'd do maybe a very light jog, jump rope or row (if rower is available)...or bike.

Also, you could work on mobility. Mobilitywod.com is scripture for me now.

35:34 w/ 30" box (actually I had to use my work-bench in the garage), it was the tallest safe platform that I could find, and my ceiling wouldn't allow for anything higher. All cleans were caught in a squat position, but most probably weren't below parallel.

Day 85
M/45/6'0"/194

Scaled to "Porch" as closely as possible. 135# Squat Cleans & 32" Burpee Box Jumps.
Time: 42:00
9 rounds of anything usually takes a while...

Notes:
1) Only up to 24" ht. objects onto which to jump in gym. No bumper plates to stack - only iron & rubber coated - not safe.

2) 32" ht. retaining wall 50 yards (one way) from the gym door, so my "rest" periods were spent running to and from the gym to the wall.

3) RIP Ship - I served along side a Canadian ETT (Embedded Training Team) operating out of Camp Blackhorse, AFG in 2005; good group of guys - and they had a few fun toys too.

CFWU-2. Reg. Superman. Row 500m.
40:59. 32" box.
Slow & steady.
Tech on cleans seemed decent. Felt like jump was good. Landing & driving through heels. Try to land narrower. Good rack position on landing. Could prob go quite a bit faster on cleans. Only did 32" box & moved it outside. Wasn't comfortable with more height to begin with 32 didn't seem too bad once I got used to it.

20:53 scaled
135 squat cleans, 32" box and only 5 rounds
quite a long distance between the two movements added to the time, but helped with the "rest"
