Find a CrossFit gym and go do the workout. Or go to the hope.crossfit.com site and sponsor an athlete or a gym.

Hope workout

Comment #14 - Posted by: eric at June 9, 2012 9:47 AM

I did hope yesterday after I worked on my snatch and c&j form for 40 minutes.

Hope 161. I was exausted when I started. Bad score I know.

Today I worked on bar muscle ups for the first time (been doing crossfit for a month now).

20 minutes of "practice" and then in 10 minutes I did 8 "clean" muscle ups. Very happy about this.

Finished up with 5 sets of 5 reps bench press at 205 lbs. Then 5 sets of 5 reps of dead lifts at 270 lbs. These were both 80% of my 1 rep max.

Comment #17 - Posted by: john carter at June 9, 2012 11:39 AM

Did Hope yesterday by myself. Just recommenced xfit after a way too long break. Don't know what I was thinking, could have gone to rec center all along. I've struggled with pushing myself by myself and obviously that is one of the awesomest things about xfit is the group encouragement and pushing each other. So I did Hope in about 35 minutes after warming up and subbed rowing machine for c2b and 75# bar for 2 35# DB's as I had no access to a proper bar. Way to long, but I still finished! And I was super gassed. But back in it! Now Ive just got to focus on being consistent!

Amazing Video. Kate is an inspiration to all of us and shows that we should have no excuses not to workout every day.

@Gary Roberts when can we expect to see another episode of Killing the Fat Man? Would love to have an update on how your doing soon!

I wish I was as awesome and tough as you!!! You're a very special little girl.

Thanks for sharing her story and giving me more motivation to keep pushing harder and make less excuses.

Did Hope, but not as Rx'd due to shoulder problems

1 arm dumbbell snatches
box jumps
1 arm dumbbell thrusters
1 arm jumping pull-ups

259 reps total

Comment #23 - Posted by: Aaron S. at June 9, 2012 5:31 PM

Hope, as Rx'd 220. It was surprisingly difficult. Looking at the workout on paper was decieving.

I have had the great honor to get to know Kate Foster's family by email (I am a leukemia survivor myself and we met on a blog that way). While I know I endured a great deal 18 months ago during my treatment I am humbled by the way this now 13 year old has dealt with both cancer treatment and loss of her leg with unbelievable courage and unwavering positive attitude. She is the "real deal" and someone from whom we can all learn about what is important in life.
