Tough to do crossfit with a knee injury, but I keep going back to Wod for what I can do. Enjoyed reading training guide and doing what I can.
No better illustration for today's quote is possible. Thank you Jason Sturm!
How can anyone say "I can't do it" after seeing a picture like this. Awesome!!!
Can't wait to do some pullups tomorrow.
I feel like I see this WOD pretty often...

Been on 100 day pull-up challenge with the scheme of 3 on, 1 off - seems to work! Day 87 today.
Great oppurtunity to work on strict pullups my prefered style for this wod.I like doing the rounds strict till i fail then i start to kip.
Bingo, I sure do miss the longer daily posts you were putting up earlier in the year. I always enjoyed them. Hope all is well with you and the rest of you out there in the CF community. I'm at the end of a 90 day, 3 on/1 off cycle and will be taking the next week off to let this old body rest. I can tell I need it! I've may have been over-training, but I've seen some great improvement.

Hi relatively new to crossfit and really enjoying it, I understand putting a single number but what does the '+ and number' mean? Thanksss
@pat #39- first is the minute (or rep which should be the same) then + (in addition to the last round you did) the next number is what you did before u called it quits( ie u did 15 pullups on the 15th minute but on the 16th minute u got 12). Now u know ur Personal Record (pr) for this WOD.
I am new too. it's like learning another language ;-)
Keep xFit!!
I believe the + means that's how many pullups were in the last round that wasn't completed. Could be wrong though.
Pat
The "+number" is the number of reps you performed in the last (but incomplete) round of the workout.
Eg 16 + 9 means 16 complete rounds plus 9 reps (in the round of 17)
Cheers

Kind of disappointed with that. Just ran a PFT yesterday and max out pull ups at 24 so maybe I was still feeling that. Who knows? Just got to keep pushing.

Felt strong today, really tested the hip and more importantly, my mind. I hadn't squatted past 185# and deadlifted 300# since the hip replacement operation 8/16/10. It was good to find out how far I could go. 840# is a far cry from the 1,300-1,400 when I was 25, but I'm not complaining :) Going for some celebratory sushi later.

Wanted a big Saturday workout so I added the WOD to the tail end of some other stuff. Went like this:
Hang Clean - 115lb x 6 - top of the minute for 8 minutes
Push Press - 95lb x 6 - top of the minute for 8 minutes
Pull Up WOD - 6 Rounds + 6
I'm a noob and don't go to a box, so I'm guessing this may have been a total fustercluck of a workout, but wth. It laid me low.
11 rounds, 66 pull ups total. Been doing crossfit for three weeks. Think I'm getting addicted.
Big new PR for me today, made it 10 rounds + 10 pull-ups in the 11th round!!
I do have a question for next time... If you do a dead hang pull-up, and go from a full dead hang to your chin above the bar, does it still count as a rep if you jump/fall off the bar in the up position (chin still above the bar) with no negative part of the pull-up?
If so, could you in theory, do this entire workout with no negative movement? Only pulling up to get your chin above the bar and then dropping off at that point to save energy? Just curious...

@#9, what kind of knee injury do you have? i tore my acl last march for the second time. i recently renewed my L1 cert with the written test and asked a question to one of the cadre what i can do to help this out with the workouts because i wore a brace for stability and had trouble with oly lifts. he told me lighten the weight and don't wear the brace, doing these wods rx'd is not impossible with knee injuries, yes, some you will have to scale but it can still be done. my knee actually feels better and is getting stronger because i'm still doing the wods.
