It's funny how all people can talk about is some stupid poster for Hope, while there is such an amazing video down below. Who really gives a damn about some stupid poster? Why don't you people pay attention to things that actually matter, like the video by Harvey Barnett. It just boggles my mind! Get a life people!

Thank you for posting Harvey Barnett's story. It reminded me of a poem, often attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson, that my father is fond of reciting and I share in the spirit of rest-day reflection.

“Success”

To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

Yes, Harvey, I think you have been successful.

M/ 38/ 133 lbs/ 5'-6"

Snatch practice:
regular warm up - a little bit hurried up - during lunch hour
Burgener Warm up
75 lbs hang power snatch x 8 + 5 hang squat snatch - felt super shaky so did it again
75 lbs hang power snatch x 5 + 5 hang squat snatch
85 lbs hang power snatch x 5 + 5 hang squat snatch
90 lbs hang power snatch x 4 + 4 hang squat snatch
95 lbs hang power snatch x 3 + 3 hang squat snatch
100 lbs hang power snatch x 3 + 3 hang squat snatch
105 lbs hang power snatch x 3 + 3 hang squat snatch - put down bar after 1st power snatches and then finished off the 3 hang squat snatches

Rested a couple minutes literally and then did 3 rounds of 3 bar MU + 15 T2B

quick stretch and back to work

Why rest day?..."crossfit total"

Comment #36 - Posted by: slart.lmb at May 25, 2012 9:30 AM

I see you guys may have changed the poster. We received one at our gym and it made us all embarrassed to be part of CrossFit. Little sick looking kids being pulled in a wagon, one hooked up to a dialysis machine, it was very disturbing and very embarrassing. This one is much better.
