Good stuff.

Comment #6 - Posted by: kurtboise at April 13, 2012 6:15 PM

Keep it up, Gary. 7 months ago I was 30# overweight, and now I'm in the best shape of my life thanks to Train to Hunt, Dan Staton and Kenton Clairmont the online crossfit coaches. Go 100% Paleo and listen to your coaches and you'll never want to look back. You'll be in better shape than when you were a Marine.

Comment #7 - Posted by: Fred abbatantuono at April 13, 2012 6:20 PM

Love it! Great Story well told. Ready for the next chapter.

Comment #8 - Posted by: kenny at April 13, 2012 6:55 PM

Run 800 meters

7 rounds of the couplet:
Pull-up, 10 reps
Dip, 10 reps

Run 800 meters

Pull ups killed me…

Gary, I admire your courage! Not just to do it, but to do it in such a public way. And what's the back story between Gary and Sevan?

Comment #32 - Posted by: Bill Hunter at April 14, 2012 7:49 AM

I liked his observation about wondering if everyone at the CrossFit box is going to be a "beast" . . . I am excited to see a "regular" guy make the journey from where he is to becoming one of those "beasts" . . . Go Gary! Can't wait for the next episode.

Comment #45 - Posted by: bruce at April 15, 2012 8:01 AM

This is a long time coming. I love the super in shape people, they are so inspiring, but most are genetically gifted beyond the majority of us normal folk. This kind of story is what I see at CF everyday at my gym. Normal people, taking extraordinary care of the body that God has given them. Gary represents that person. He looks like he has a good job and cute wife and kids. Hell, just to have that at his age is quite a feat in itself. So it is equally, if not more so, inspiring to see him tackle this new endeavor!! Go Gary!

Comment #46 - Posted by: Laura at April 15, 2012 11:10 AM

When will they be showing more?

Comment #47 - Posted by: tom at April 15, 2012 4:27 PM

Hi Gary,
I too am extremely out of shape and over weight. I started crossfit and eating Paleo two weeks ago. I haven't lost any weight yet, but feel fantastic. Your video was very inspirational to all of us fatty's out there that want to kill our fat guy and start living again. I have a bit more to lose than you do, but can't wait to see your progress. Keep it up and can't wait to see you again. Go Gary Go!!!!

Comment #48 - Posted by: Tony at April 15, 2012 5:51 PM

Thanks for relighting my fire! Incredibly inspirational start! We are destined to be that which we will ourselves to be. Thanks for pushing me a little harder.

Comment #49 - Posted by: Jay at April 15, 2012 7:50 PM

I have been waiting a very long time for CrossFit to do a series like this. Thanks for finally taking care of business. This is what we need to be doing more of. Forging Elite fitness for EVERYONE! I will keep following. Bring on Episode Two

Thanks for this. I started Crossfit in Dec, I weighed 355 lbs. I am still over 300 but working toward it. Your videos fuel me even more. One fat dude to another, thank you!

Comment #54 - Posted by: Mark Williams at April 17, 2012 9:12 PM

Such a great story, stick with it, be an inspiration to the masses. I cannot wait to hear the next chapter.

Comment #56 - Posted by: Hoke at April 21, 2012 11:48 AM

Like everyone else said, this is an awesome story. But, the best part is the start up. It's great to see the first workout footage and see someone else go through the nervousness of the first session. It's even better to hear the people applauding the effort at the end. Great story and great heart - Corazon!
