great video. embraces the true meaning of this movement.
As a FMF Corpsman I hold a special place in my heart for all Marines. I'm deeply honored to be able to do this WOD in memory of a hero. Semper Fidelis Marine! 3,2,1..... GET SOME!!
Semper Fi Leatherneck!!!
1/6 Hard
Former Army but I have LOTS of former Marine friends. Love Uncle Sams Misguided Children :) Can anyone tell me how these Hero WOD's are named? Are we simply honoring the fallen operator with a workout, or did the operator actually do the workout that is named after him or her during their own PT program?
Semper Fi brother. I'm honor to do this WOD.
3-2-1 Go!
M/50/200
Is this the amount of weight women are supposed to use?
If not, where would I find that info?
Thanks.
Women's weights are usually approx. 70% of prescribed (men's) weight, but that is just a point of reference if you cando more you should or If you can't then keep form and technique in mind
TH you can go 2/3 on the load, that's what a lot do. You can also just pick something. It's more about what you out into it, not the load. That's what CF is all about. Sometimes we prescribe load at our box and sometimes we let our athletes go inside their own heads and let them decide. Good luck.
Doing this one tomorrow, RIP Pheezy
RIP my broher this ones for you!!!

For a 1/6 brother. SEMPER FI!
Awesome WOD! The hero WOD's are always worth doing. They gave their life for us to have the life we at times take for granite. Thank a vet the next time you see one.
Should FS BE cleaned from the ground or can a rack be used?
Thank you for service to our country and the ultimate sacrifice...All fallen brothers deserve us to bust our ass, in their honor. EX UMBRA....for those that know and live it...Any one can go to hell, but let's see who can come back!!! PUSH hard for this fallen brother, PUSH, PUSH, PUSH!!!!
Normally, I would whine about a workout like this, however when it comes down to being in honor of a fallen hero there are no excuses. Im giving my all on this one! Thank you Philip, thank you to anyone in the service and anyone who has served before for keeping us safe!

did the first set of front squats with 165# but when it came to the push jerks I had a tweak in my right shoulder so I had to drop down to 135#. I left the weight at 135# for front squats and push jerks for the remainder of the workout. Otherwise as rx'd. Need to work on the T2B's they kill my time!

Used 155# for push/jerk.For push jerk and front squat I cleaned weight from the floor rather than using squat rack. T2B was difficult as I could not get in a rhythm. First real workout in about a month so a little out of it.
Just making notes so when I review this I can compare. :)
Thanks crossfit for the daily workouts and all the work you do on maintaing this website, posting videos and etc! Keeping it free for our use is AWESOME! Thank again!!!

For me, the whole workout came down to the PJ. I knew this is what would be the biggest challenge. I di the first 3 o.k. but then decided to scale.. I never scale, but for the sake of moving at a decent pace, and to not get injured, I decided to go with 155 lbs. I was a little bit disapointed, but go for it next time I guess. This was a hard grinder of a WOD.. just keep on hacking away at it. Each movement pretaxed the next, but for me the PJs were a bit heavy. I can do heavier, but for singles, and not right after doing a ton of other stuff. I like WODs like this.. I liked this WOD.. but I know my time wasn't that great. Also I did this at another gym so I was a little spread out, but no big deal... I lost a ton of time on the PJ, but glad to get it done.

18 Hand-release push-ups - broken, first time ever doing it
20:39 - can probably do 125 and 205 lbs next time - great workout

Scaled PJ to 145, 22:53
With all due respect and gratitude
Subbed toes-thru-rings, rest as rx'd. 14:57.
As predicted, the bodyweight stuff on this was worse than the weightlifting stuff. Everything unbroken except TTR and hand-release push-ups. Felt really good about pull-ups today, they were clicking. TTR started out well, but by the end I was at singles. Hand-release push-ups just suck - I need to stick these back in my warm-up so I can get better at them. Push jerks were a little shaky at the end too.
