Angie #13 - I think a lot of us hit the wall sometime about 50 where you figure out that you have to rethink your workouts. It took me 2 joint surgeries and feeling like I was about 100 yrs old to figure out that I better start scaling things back. I feel a lot better now that I'm not overtraining.

I am also a Crossfitter in my 50's, and yes, I do sometimes take 2 rest days (from CrossFit) in a row. For a while I stayed on the 3 on 1 off schedule in order to work out with some younger kids. Over time, I experienced increasing amounts of joint and tendon pain if I didn't modify my training schedule. Now I find that an every-other day program works the best for me. I'm trying to stay in this CrossFit game for the long haul so I am willing to take appropriate rest and to scale the workouts whenever necessary.
