If you don't have 15lb plates for the 75lb reps and you're using the smaller weights do you still have to touch and go or just go beneath the knees?

Great work CFHQ, I'm sure no one will get hurt on this one movement complex lift repeated 100 or so times.

WOD 1 - Do burpees for 7 mins
Wod 2 - Do Snatches for 10 minutes

...slightly disappointed in the creativity. So far 2011 was better. Time to go warm up the shoulders.

the girls weights are proportionately lighter than the boys weights.

Isabel is 135 male, 95 female. Here, in the second round when male weight is 136, female is 75

still a good and fair test of fitness but you'd expect the top women to get more reps here than the top men

@ m (comment 15) This is a competition to find the fittest in the world. If you can't do it then you simply can't do it. If you can't do it safely then you sure as hell shouldn't be doing it. As for the creativity who cares

Before everyone complains about the movement or weight remember why this is being run. It's not a competition for the average Joe to go in and suddenly find himself in regionals. it is to find the fittest in the world (or your region to start with).

On a brighter note I think the first workout definately favoured the little guy and now we see the big weights come in to even up the scores a little bit. I love it.

For the record this workout will see me stop at 30 reps as 60kg is 2.5kg more than my 1RM. With my Olympic lifting ability I shouldn't be going to regionals and this will weed me out from the top. Exactly what should happen.

What if we're doing this at a globo gym and they only have 10lb and 5lb plates in order to create the 75lb stage. Is it just below the knee as the marker for the start of the next rep?

I will get some way into the 135s but am highly unlikely to finish them but in general, I think we can see a lot of people finish with 30 reps and then a load more finish with 60 reps

it's less inclusive than the burpees but nonetheless, it lets everybody know where they are at and that's what makes it a good test.

i find it hard to believe that anyone other the than the TOP tier athlete is power snatching 165 30 times, after all those other reps and 205..gimme a break. Can't wait to see all the exaggerated scores. Definitely need something besides main site programming if you are even going to seriously compete. Ill be bottoming out at 135 for sure...

Did 12.2 today. Thought I'd only get like 3 reps into 135 because my snatch max is only like 165 maybe. However, got 51 reps total with someone really pushing. Very surprised and satisfied with my day.

I think Steve m #23 said it very well. As someone solidly in the "small guy" end of the spectrum, I accept the reality that I will never excel at a competition that includes movements with absolute weights (not adjusted for BW). And when I do this WOD I will get 30 plus maybe one or two, since 135 is my BW and my 1RM. But as Steve says, that's exactly what should happen in a competition designed to find the fittest on earth.

Oh, and RF Jr.'s performance in that video was just incredible -- Dan Bailey too, but Rich certainly served notice to everyone else that he is ready to defend his title...

Rest day on 2:1 for me. Thinking, though, of trying a scaled 12.2 this weekend: 30 reps 75#, 30 reps 95#, and if there's time, see how many 115#'s I can get. Without rushing.

This is going to blowup the masters divisions, which is exactly what it's supposed to do. I say adapt.

I got my 30 reps in 3 minutes and actually loaded the bar for 135, but two misses were enough.

I like the programming and it will help me focus my training. For now, I'm top ten, but racing to the bottom.

I did 12.2 today.

My 1 rep max for snatches is 105#

I didn't expect to get beyond 60 reps and then found out that I was there with more than 3 minutes to go. That's when I wished I had actually done some heavy snatches in the warmup. It took me 2 minutes to figure out how to do a heavy snatch... kind of split snatched it.... and ended with a score of...

I'm not in the open but I think I want to do this again as I am sure that with a bit better preparation, I could knock off a few more 100lb'ers.

As rx'd. 64 reps.

Fun WOD. I said after last week I was hoping for something with a barbell - "be careful what you wish for", I guess. I am glad they went heavier with WOD 2 though.

This played out pretty much how I figured it would. Took 2 minutes to do the 75# snatches (15-10-5). Broke the "Isabel" portion into sets of 5, on the minute, for 6 minutes. That left me 2 minutes to get a few attempts at 165. I gave a shot at power snatching 165, but my pull by then was gone. I failed a 2nd time when I tried to squat snatch it. But fortunately, I was able to get in 4 good reps @ 165 in the last 90 seconds.
