Thats a great home gym. I'm actually also in nova. What're the chances of me being able to come by for a workout sometime? I miss bumper plates in globo gyms.

I'v only been crossfiting for about a month now and I can not find anything on pre-workout supplementation. I'm not sure if it is not recommended and eating paleo is all I need or if there are any caffeinated, vaso-dilating, muscle pump to use?

Comment #4 - Posted by: Alex at February 17, 2012 6:21 PM

You leave your barbell outside in the snow?!?! That's abuse.

Comment #5 - Posted by: John Seiler at February 17, 2012 7:15 PM

Where can I get that rack? I want one of these in my back yard too... :)

Comment #6 - Posted by: Raiff at February 17, 2012 7:21 PM

Enjoyed the GQ story. God bless our troops.

This picture must be photoshopped... NoVa doesn't get snow these years.... :)

Comment #8 - Posted by: Darby at February 17, 2012 8:55 PM

@ #6, Raiff, I'm in Vegas but I got that same rack about a year ago at Dick's Sporting Goods on sale for $250. The name on it is "Protocol".

Great "open" video.

Brrr! I thought I had it bad in my unheated garage. It's bad enough working with freezing cold metal in your hands. Doing it all in the snow, no thanks.

My rest day was spent bouldering on some rad limestone blocks. Feels great to have my forearms pumped!

That video of Matt was awesome!

Comment #13 - Posted by: Aaron S. at February 18, 2012 6:51 AM

Great "Open" video. Has there been any talk of starting a wounded warrior's style crossfit games?

Wow, that Matt Ramsey video was powerful. I did not sleep well last night and I was going to allow myself to use that as an excuse to blow off my run this morning. After watching that video I'm heading out the door for that run.

Thanks for the motivation, Matt. Good luck in the Open.

Hey Guys/Gals,

No that is not a photoshopped picture, it's from about two months ago. Yes the barbell and weights stay out and since the barbell abuses us, then it can take some back. Doing the WODs out in the elements gives a bit of a more realistic perspective to the functional fitness thing. Nice day, great WOD, not so nice day, even better WOD.

The gym is open! Good work.

Matt's a badass, he raised the bar for everyone around him whenever he's in the gym. Makes me a better coach every day in every way.

Hello Crossfitters. I do not know many of you, but once upon a time I came here very often.

I've been out training for my first marathon the past few months(18 miles today), so not many main site WODs have been done lately.

Anyway, I just thought I would say hi and shout out some old friends to see if anyone from the day still comes here.

Strong Lil' Pony, Goat, Cookie, Cynthia J, Franiel, Bingo, Appoloswabbie, One Fast Bird, Rookie, Fat Tony, Herm, Eric "cougar hunter" Gohl, Jason P and the rest of the FRAT. I still think about you guys and miss you lots.

Man hugs and bad English for the house, on me!

Fun rest day. Did 1/2 Bradley (5 rds.) with my cousin, while playing with my daughters. My 7 y.o. is a great motivator!!

24:40, terrible time, but had fun doing it!

Big hugs and bad English back at ya, PB!

Today I went to an affiliate for the first time. I enjoyed it... but our garage is just too well stocked to pay a membership fee elsewhere.

Then... inspired, I suppose, by the community of like minded people I met this morning, I signed up for a level 1 cert.

I'm making my way out of the garage.... watch out world!

PB- good luck in the marathon!

PB- Good luck with the marathon. I am training for one also and trying to keep as many WODs going as possible. If they call for running on my scheduled marathon program run day I just do the nonrunning part. Thats only on my days of 10 miles or less though.

Also since today was a rest day on both schedules I thought why not do a little ring work and shoulder mobility. Well it paid off BIG TIME. Nailed my 1st, 2nd and 3rd MUSCLE UP. SUPER PUMPED

Great pic... Which leads me to a question. What is everyone's opinion on leaving fitness equipment outside exposed to the elements? I have some AF bumpers and bar, and a Rogue rack outside on the patio but protected. I concerned about condensation and rare moisture buildup associated with northeast weather. Thoughts?

Comment #29 - Posted by: GENE at February 19, 2012 8:39 PM

@Playoff Beard,
Good to see you're still kicking! I've not frequented the boards for a long while, but still wodding it up. I'm doing a tough mudder in april, so I've been doing more distance as well.
Best of luck and keep tearing it up!
