RTLW

Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of my Ranger Regiment.

Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other soldier.

Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-percent and then some.

Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.

Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.

Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor.

As RXed: 167 Reps

-In Afghanistan (Elev: 3100')
-I had to take the time to write down the reps between each exercise or else I would have lost count. That added a few seconds of rest between each excercise (no more than 5-10 sec). I tell ya, even writing down the numbers became difficult towards the end.
-Awesome workout!

tough workout, but perfect for turkey day
i got 56,44,70 total reps, by the third round i finally learned having closer grips for squat cleans and jerks helped make things easier instead of wide grips, was a step shy of an extra shuttle run which wouldve given 171, but couldnt get myself to accept it, anybody else felt incredibly weak by the time they got to the jerks? happy thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

I'm so thankful for all of the things CrossFit has brought into my life - a passion for my own health and fitness, the skills and drive to help people become happier and healthier, all of the opportunities and experiences that have come my way over the last five years and the wonderful people with whom I've been lucky enough to share them.

I'm extra thankful that this year my Mom as really embraced CrossFit. She's finally getting into a routine and noticing the differences in the way her body looks and feels. I can see her walking taller and smiling when she looks in the mirror. It's giving her something to do for herself which is awesome because her life revolves around her work, me and my brother. So I'm really happy that she's taking time to have fun in the gym and do something that's for her.

Most of all, I'm thankful for my little brother, EthanBoo. Like always, he's the reason I wake up in the morning, and the reason I strive to be a better person and role model for him every day. I'm so grateful for him and all the love and laughs he's brought into my life since he got here. There's nothing better than a little Boo!

I hope everyone enjoys the food and company as much as I'm going to :)

I just began crossfit last wek (a late adopter on everything) when I returned from two years of sand box deployments. I haven't been this sore in years. It tells me I'm doing something right. :)

The YMCA is closed today so I had to modify the workout (plus I'm still pretty weak in the core). I used the basketball court down the street from my house.

3 Rounds of:
1 minute of Good Mornings
1 minute of push-up burpees
1 minute of standing squats in my body armor
1 minute of shuttle runs
1 minute of crunches

It was a lot of fun. Happy Thanksgiving!

Wrote this for our paleo Thanksgiving from last night. I was told I needed to post this.

The CrossFit Our Father.

Our father, who art in CrossFit
Greg Glassman be thy name
My burpees done and box jumps sprung
And pull-ups finished in round seven
Give us this day our daily WOD
And forgive us for our missed reps
As we forgive those who've no rep'ed against us
And lead us not to into a Globo Gym
And deliver us from arm curl evil.

Amen

142 (51, 47, 44). Great WOD. Approximate avgs were 6 SCs, 12 Runs, 10+ DLs, 10+ Burpees, 6 jerks. Took entirely too long to set up for all Jerk sets which were a bear. Get more comfortable with jerks at that weight.

Three rounds for reps of:
155 pound Squat cleans, 1 minute:5-5-5
20' Shuttle sprints (20' forward + 20' backwards = 1 rep), 1 minute: 8-8-7
245 pound Deadlifts, 1 minute: 7-7-4
Burpees, 1 minute: 14-13-16
155 pound Jerks, 1 minute: 6-6-6
40-39-38= 117.
Lower back very tired, sore from this. Weight was heavy, but made it through, only about 20-30s of moving weight in each min.
Rest 1 minute..whew.

Good pace through it, the sqt cleans took it out of me.

DL not bad. Get 10 or so. Not bad when sure to keep stomach, core tight.

136 reps total

I took zeros in the sprints and dispersed that minute across the rest in order to change the weights. It was probably a wash, since the extra rest let me get a few extra reps. Also, I came up 2-3 reps short on cleans each time and made up for them by doing cleans to start the jerks.
