Just wanna spread the word to anyone who hasn't read Taylor Branch's essay yet -- do so ASAP. It's long, but for my money it's the best and most important piece of writing about college sports (and possibly athletics in general) in a generation. Absolutely worth your time.

John is a smart guy, very "non-paleo" though. Also, he's not been a fan of CrossFit Methodology for some time.

Just sayin.

Congrats Josh! Did you wife take that photo? The comment by Shane about you being shirtless is silly. Especially since I am betting that your wife took the photo. haha.

Comment #8 - Posted by: JDAM at October 21, 2011 3:04 AM

@Jamie: thanks for sharing your opinions. I'm not sure if you're representing my beliefs (past or present) accurately. But that's OK. I've written a lot of stuff over the years and I don't expect everyone to follow it all. Nevertheless, if I can point you to some nutrition resources that'll help out you or your clients, whatever style you choose to follow, let me know.

A shirtless man???? Say it isn't so.

If the pictures on the main site have the ability ruin your day you need to reevaluate you life.

The major takeaway from the article "The Shame of College Sports" is that the Auburn football team is a bunch of cheaters. They should hang their heads in shame.

@John Berardi, I've been a fan of your work since the early days of T-mag, and we've actually argued points at the SWIS seminar oh so many years ago.

I've caught up on your stuff since my comment this am, and it does seem that there has been a swing in stance, you have common sense approach as always.

I like it.

Its funny, and smart I guess, that I see, WestSide Principals and now PN reaching out to this community as there is a pile of fitness enthusiasts with disposable incomes.

Welcome to the fold John.

I am currently serving in Afghanistan as a Chief Petty Officer Physical Trainer in the Royal Navy, and have been asked to give a brief on Nutrition to our troops here in Kabul. The reason is that when were are deployed a lot of our guys/girls go on either a crash 6 month diet, or plan to get as big as possible by taking all types of Protein supplements.

I have been putting together a Power Point Presentation myself but I am no expert on Nutrition, however, I have just watched the videos by Dr John Berardi and the way he explained the whole concept made so much sense and has gave me a few ideas, to assist me in getting my points across to the troops.

John Berardi - I thank you for your words!!
