Outstanding Cert at Reebok CrossFit One. Very knowledgeable coaches who are clearly subject matter experts. Very personable coaches who really know how to make a Level 1 a lot of fun! Thanks Guys!

Just finished putting my Crossfit gym together in my basement, so instead of a rest day, I'll be doing my first WOD at home with this:

5 Rds for time of:
5 Power Cleans (135lbs).
10 Ring Dips.
15 Back Squats (135lbs).
20 Situps (Abmat, unsupported).
25 KB Swings (50lbs).

Should be interesting and exciting!..

Soon as I get a chance, I'll make a video of my home gym and submit it..hopefully it'll end up on the main site. I'm pretty proud of my home gym!..

From what I can tell, there are no hero WODs named for troops you have been killed in the line of duty while serving in Africa. Alas, this may change soon (all links are wfs):

http://news.yahoo.com/analysis-why-set-us-troops-africa-militants-094614575.html

You know, on the surface this troop deployment makes no sense from a strategic point of view for national security...ummm...wait a minute...there are two billion reasons why we should send U.S. troops to Uganda:

http://allafrica.com/stories/201110141000.html

Follow the troops to find whatever oil is left on this planet...and you're very welcome for my latest news update from the Peak Oil Central Bureau Desk :^)

"It's all about oil...oil, oil, oil..." -- quote from an international journo friend of mine who covered the crude oil business news sector before, during, and after the First Gulf War. I never believed it while I was in, but I sure as heck do now. However, is there anything worth fighting for more than oil?

Did yesterday's workout... slow and steady with lots of interruptions ... like the daughter coming into the garage to see me and the dog pretty much sitting on me while I was doing situps... I guess me elbowing her and brushing her as I went back and forth was like a pet. The Big news is that I managed to do

wait for it

5 kipping pullups in a ROW! I finally strung them together!

It only took 2 and a half years of crossfitting to be able to do that.

I will say that it is a LOT less taxing than 5 dead hang pullups in a row.

How exciting!

Way to go Julie!

Comment #33 - Posted by: Kevin C.(M/52/5'11"/172) at October 17, 2011 10:27 AM

I've missed a few weeks from the mainsite...but was finally able to get back at it today:

CINDY:
21 complete rounds, plus 5 pullups

*probably pushed a bit too hard for being out of it for awhile - I will be hurtin the next few days...
