Comment #10 - Posted by: Mills at October 5, 2011 5:39 PM

How is that not classy? #1 a womens body is a thing of beauty and she has clearly spent time working on it so she's confidently posng while drawing a bow with an 80-100 lbs draw and is proud of it. #2 This picture probably inspires women to work harder just like when you see a picture of some ripped guy doing some insane lift or skill. Not to mention #3 there is nothing showing and if there was it would be on you to either respect the photo and the work she put into maintaining her body or look at it with lust and disrespect. So whoever is in this picture keep working hard, and good look shooting deer. Crossfit keep the pics of beautiful, confident, in shape women coming. It's very motivating!

that bow is an oneida. not sure of the model, not many of them around anymore. they shoot more like a recurve than a modern compound. i add target shooting into my workouts. add 12 shots between rounds of fran and try to focus. it makes you better

Topless women's archery, is this a new discipline for the London 2012 Olympics?..if not, it should be!..Kudo's on her for turning her body into a beautiful work of art and a model of functionality...

Comment #27 - Posted by: Harry at October 5, 2011 6:33 PM

I wish our culture wasn't so f'd up about nudity, especially boobs. If boobs are on a wall at a museum - it's a piece of art (for most). A man can walk around without his shirt off - no big deal (depending on his cup-size apparently). Shirtless prepubescent girls run around without a care of what's being exposed. Seriously, what's it going to take for people to relax about topless women?

Comment #28 - Posted by: Scott at October 5, 2011 6:37 PM

OMG! Lets act like immature children at the sight of a bare back. Isn't the point of CF to sculpt an amazing body and increase your physical health so that you can feel better about yourself and function better? Apparently some of you have never shot a bow, b/c it does in fact take some level of fitness to use it well. Also I assume those of you complaining never got to beaches, watch movies with any sort of nudity, and most certainly have never slept with anyone...after all that might just send you over the top...sigh

Anyways, congrats on achieving a goal, keep up the good work, and keep posting these types of pics and stories CF.com

#21 though Jobs was a very inspirational figure, was he a crosfitter?

It's sad that many geeks and other fellows in the IT fields totally disregard their bodies and end up overweight, ill or worse. I've been divulging some crossfit journal articles to many of my colleagues. I know that the results-based rigour with which fitness, diet and their relationship with health is treated did entice the analytical nerd in me and has made a profound impact on my own habits.

Don't take this comment the wrong way, though. Some things are indeed out of anyone's control. RIP.

Comment #30 - Posted by: Aleix at October 5, 2011 6:45 PM

ONEIDA just started creating bows again....expensive but if you don't want to shoot a crossbow then buy the oneida. Extremely easy draw at heavier weights. Awesome crossfit helped achieve your goals!!!

Comment #31 - Posted by: Jmac at October 5, 2011 7:18 PM

I think people are thinking of creative ways to show a nude (sounds classier than naked) back just to get a rise out of people. I'm waiting for some topless bacon frying. I like the pics not from a lewd standpoint but almost from admiring a work of art. That the subject worked very hard to achieve that look.

Comment #32 - Posted by: MikeyJ at October 5, 2011 7:28 PM

Crossfit is making the world a more beautiful place:) Xfit is also, redefining sexy.

To me, what is attractive now is a powerful, energetic, fit and functional woman..(a woman who is committed to crossfit(for ex. my wife)) instead of a weak, too thin, helpless (model type) woman.

Examples like Mi Sun celebrate life and the joy of a being healthy and fit. Inspirational.

Comment #33 - Posted by: Easy Rider aka Robert Hammond at October 5, 2011 7:30 PM

On the video Austin goes thruthe different positions for the snatch. On the hang position he starts at high hang, just curious if that is were the wod is meant to start. I have always been under the impression that the hang position was at or just below the knees. I could be wrong I don't have a very long back ground with Olympic lifts and startin points. If anyone has input it would be appreciated.

Comment #34 - Posted by: Kyle at October 5, 2011 7:33 PM

I think it's a great pic! And it has lots to do with Crossfit... Just think about it for a minute, we all have lots of goals in life that don't have anything do to with Crossfit, yet there are many aspects of Crossfit that help us reach these goals.

I think its a beautiful and inspiring shot of a strong and fit woman who is proud of her strength, her body and reaching her goal with the help of Crossfit.

I wish there were more women out there who were this comfortable in their own skin! Gratz to you Mi Sun!

Comment #46 - Posted by: jeffbaldwin at October 6, 2011 12:42 AM

OMG, I was totally going to log on and post a "jumped the shark" comment about the photo, but Kaleb beat me to it. LOL!! I love nude chicks, believe me, I do. But seriously, its passing silly around here. HQ thinks they're avante garde, people send in their photos because they want everyone to look at them and think they're hot, then people who take themselves way too seriously put up posts blasting "all the haters" when there are basically no posts from any haters. Its like a tired sitcom. Think of something new, please.

Comment #57 - Posted by: vance van hees at October 6, 2011 5:29 AM

If you are new to the snatch, don't try this workout with any kind of significant load. Trying to learn or to improve your snatch skills under duress is probably unwise. For experienced lifters like Austin and Spencer however...go heavy and get some.

For the newbies (or horrible snatchers like me), stick with an empty barbell or even a PVC pipe, focusing on rock solid form. Don't worry, it'll still be a good workout!

Just my two cents.

@Kyle (comment 34)- "hang position" could refer to a few different positions where the barbell starts above the floor. Here, however it appears to indicate a hang position beginning above the mid-thigh position.

Like you said, hang position can indicate an area somewhere between mid-thigh and above the knees. But this isn't set in stone.

Similarly, mid-thigh position can occur from just above the knees all the way up to middle between the hip and knee.

Austin and Spence started each new set of snatches at a lower position. But really, there is no wrong way to eat a reese's.

Comment #65 - Posted by: J.Hobart at October 6, 2011 7:25 AM

just curious, what's the difference from a hang snatch and snatch from mid thigh? Aren't that basically the same thing, or is a hang snatch closer to the hip pocket?

Fingers still ripped from rope climbs on saturday -
SWOD: heavy 5 back squat: 265# felt weak
DWOD: runs as RX on treadmill at 11, had to slow down after 1.5 laps on last run
sub for snatches: pocket gymnast's kipping headstand press-out progression, kick straight back for first set, up to wall second set, straight up/press out for last set. Got 5-6 good headstand press-outs.

Comment #68 - Posted by: Curtis Warren at October 6, 2011 7:51 AM

c'mon crossfit there's plenty of half naked and full naked women on the internet with some showing and all showing.

If I want that I can go get that elsewhere.

Is crossfit about staying fit or about crooning at a topless woman sexifying a workout/physical activity?

Stay classy.

Thanks for sharing! I think that it is awesome that your wife can now accomplish this and be with you when you go hunting. Hang snatch = from pockets area to your hip

Mid thigh = above the knee but below pockets

During a full snatch you should hit each section before completing the movement.

This WOD is designed to teach athletes to hit each section and understand the proper tech needed to perform a proper snatch as opposed to just ripping it from the floor. See the Burgner warm up for more clarification

I'm always amazed how allot of people just drop the bar from full extension. I don't have the luxury of doing that since I am working out with metal plates in my garage and don't want to start cracking the concrete. I wonder how much that limits my strength progression in that I not only have to perform the movement, but also have to control the bar back down to waist level to place it back on the ground as to not crack my garage floor. Could I do 20 more lbs if all I had to do was drop the bar?
Just talking out loud.

Comment #101 - Posted by: Louie at October 6, 2011 12:47 PM

Seriously? This is hilarious. It's like it's turned into a pissing contest of these half naked women doing a staged pull-up, or a handstand on a beach, or shooting an arrow or peeing in the woods...

What is so spectacular or amazing or different than the other millions of women on this earth... This is not art, it is not erotic and it is certainly not a statement (because that has already been made) and has zero significance.

Seriously - sending in a pic of your wife/gf/mother/sister topless going through the frickin drive through would have more impact.

I'm all for women being proud of their body and hard work, and I love naked women as much as the next guy, but it is more artistic/erotic/powerful/relevant if you send in a pic of your girl sweating through a workout in her short-shorts/lulu's.

Sorry for the rant but this is getting absurd.

M/ 37/ 134 lbs/ 5'-6"
I am still nursing a nagging back pull so I did a different workout last night. I also had to workout in a different gym where it's actually hard to find enough space to do larger movements..
I did a 7 minute ladder of 95 lb thruster & 55 lb dumbell kettelbell swing (full height)
1 + 1, then 2 + 2, 3 + 3....
I did 9 swings plus 5 thrusters.
This was a lot more taxing than I thought.. I took about 5 minutes off and then did another wiht 10 reps all out. I did that set it about 45 seconds.
After a few minutes rest and putting stuff away, I did another ladder of 30 lb dumbell hang squat clean followed by half the reps in HSPU
I did 4 + 2, 8 + 4, 12 + 6
Good workout.. my shouders were already a littl bit tired so the HSPUs were tough for the last 3.
Then I did max D.U. in 1 minute (114) Last time I did 2 minutes I got 198, so I want to obviously break 200 in 2 minutes and I want to go for 140 in 1 minute next time.
Back is still not feeling good and I hope a couple days off will help. I am going to try to get more rest this weekend, take a few long hot soaks and let it heal.

Hard to tell where the hand is with the long hair, but she may also need to turn her head a little more and get that release hand properly anchored to her jaw bone (crotch of the thumb and index finger to the back of the jaw bone, directly below the ear).

Other then that, looks good. Happy hunting!

The Plato quote refers to dice rather than the active play usually visualized with the saying. Its origin doesn't appear 2,350 years old; the earliest citation seems to be 1907, by Richard Lindgard: "If you would read a man’s Disposition, see him Game; you will then learn more of him in one hour, than in seven Years Conversation, and little Wagers will try him as soon as great Stakes, for then he is off his Guard."
