OK...let's try this again.
Today is the day you learn about "compare to" up top. Why? Couple of reasons. First, there is a link to one of the classic, early CFJ articles by Coach: Fundamentals, Virtuosity, and Mastery. It's required reading for all serious CrossFitters. Second, on the comments there are several very nice conversations among several CrossFit OG's like John Messano, Dan Silver, and Jeff Martin. Pioneers who led the way.
Even after 7 years I still am blown away by what I find here on Crossfit.com.

Bingo: right on man. can never get enough of this good stuff.
WOD time: 6:57. damn wind was so strong it was blowing my rope around and messing up the DUs... chalk that up to variability.
Also, if there are any CF-ers out there that are into neuroscience, psychological science, etc - I've just been appointed editor of the mind section of Evolution: This view of life and I'd love to do a podcast with someone who is "in the trenches" scientifically (a scientist) studying the effects of fitness of mental/cognitive ability. I'd really like to do a podcast with Coach glassman on the topic of "the greatest adaptation in CrossFit is between the ears", but I realize that he's quite busy. If you are interested and qualified drop me a message.
PS: this was a well needed metcon for me. been slacking on my running... this forced me to go hard and fast, nearly got sick.

all the rest broken but just because of misses, not fatigue and had to stop. I got right back into it, no breaks today. I can shave off alot of time if I can keep the misses down.
I pushed hardd on the runs, but I pushed REAL hard on the last one, there is room to go faster.
All in all a good workout, it was fun. I'm sweating like a pig now though even though it is cool today and a nice breeze. Glad to get it done.

Got my first full squat snatch today (just the bar - no plates). Massive improvement in mobility since starting crossfit 6 months ago when I struggled for full depth with air squats. My sincerest thanks to the whole comunity :)

The DU's are coming along, but could not get them unbroken after the first set. I could feel the rope skimming the top of my head on some of the later sets -- first time that has happened. Maybe I need a longer rope?
WOD demo was great, as usual. Amazing how much you can pick up just by watching a couple minutes of someone else doing the WOD. Great job by the stud(dettes) at SC.

Yesterday I had the great privilege and pleasure of taking a class from the "Legend" Annie Sakamoto at Crossfit Santa Cruz Central, and my legs are a bit fried. 3 rds AMRAP FS, at about 70% 1 rm, with 3 mins rest in between each round. I used 115 lbs. and got 9, 8, 6 reps. Then we partnered up, I was lucky to get Tim, and while one partner ran 600M, the other held a plank, then switch, then each runs 200M, switch, and then 100M. Total time 8:05. Great challenges, and excellent coaching as usual. Thanks Annie.

It was a lot more fun to do this outside today, but DUs outside threw me off and the uneven pavement was a bit of a monkey in the system doing the DUs. I almost never mess up on low rep DUs and I messed up at least 1 or 2 times per round on this one. 200 is not far so you could really go pretty hard the whole time.
This is a fun WOD, but I felt fine like 3 minute after..
POST WOD - I did Turkish Getups
warmed up with 20 lbs for about 5 per arm
4 x each arm with 35 lbs
3 x each arm with 45 lbs

Fun and I wanted to get a lot of stabilization and work on the shoulders... not just weight.. this seemed like a good idea. I haven't done TGUs in a long time. Fun mix with the running and DU WOD
