That WOD was poppin'!!!...burpee Box jump, that's a great idea!..
I would love to make one of those big wooden stackable box they had on that video...anyone know where I can find plans or a 'how to' for this?

One would think that if a handful of Arabs managed to outwit not merely the CIA and FBI but all 16 US intelligence agencies, all intelligence agencies of our allies including Mossad, the National Security Council, the State Department, NORAD, airport security four times on one morning, air traffic control, etc., the President, Congress, and the media would be demanding to know how such an improbable event could occur. Instead, the White House put up a wall of resistance to finding out, and Congress and the media showed little interest.
Today Americans are unsafe, not because of terrorists and domestic extremists, but because they have lost their civil liberties and have no protection from unaccountable government power. One would think that how this came about would be worthy of public debate and congressional hearings.

When I am doing a WOD, should I focus on doing it Rx and break my sets up, or should I reduce the weight on lifts and focus on completing the WOD with as little rest time as possible. I know yesterday, I spend a lot of time standing around with my hands on my knees about to pass out.

Incredibly cool to see people I "know" on ESPN2.
I realized that even though I've never met any of them in person, I actually know more about many of the crossfit competitors on TV last night then I know about the people I work with everyday. :)
Awesome community spirit, great competitors and fantastic display of sportsmanship all around.
Very proud of Crossfit this morning!

Jack B, dont steal too much rest. the compromise in technique should remain no less than ~90 pct of your best rep form / movement. that way you dont get hurt going AQAP.

when you can muster a 90% rep (after a blow/partition) hit it.

maybe others have a different take, but i defer to 90% technical efficiency when attacking wods. the weight rx solves itself that way.

Katro, thank you. I will scale back next WOD and see how it goes. My time yesterday was 21:10 and I would say about 8 min of it was me bent over panting. Pulling 230 lbs up the rope didn't help, but the heavy Clean and Jerk (heavy for me) was wrecking my cardio. It was odd, I would do a lift and during the lift it was taxing, but doable. A few seconds after the lift, my heart rate would spike. A couple of times I felt like I was going to black out and one time I did go to my knees. I'll tone it back a bit and see how it goes.

@ Michael (#3) I take "recovery showers" at least daily. It is a trick I read about in a mountaineering book. Basically 2mintes of as hot as you can stand followed by 1minute of as cold as you can stand, repeat. Truly awesome for me so you might want to try that.

@ Jack (#13) My approach has been guided by the theory that mainstie WODs are designed for athletes that perform at a similar level to what we see in the games. So I compare my max lifts to theirs and then scale accordingly. This seems to keep a good balance between the strength aspect and the metcon (won't be scaling for much longer!).

Hope that helps, those are just my experiences gentlemen.

No wonder crossfit usually post global warming denialist mythology on rest days.

An article that should be stirring up people demanding the restoration of your civil liberties and promoting action with your representatives has only garnered one comment (before this one).

Rest day is brain workout day.

Doesn't anyone have anything to say about the Bach or the Chekhov?
