Wallball hell. Big goat work for me. I needed it, I did not like it but I needed it.

Rope was a bump, to fast to getting back on the ball. No real long breaks, allthough I had to look at the ball first befor i picked it up, so some lag inbetween the rope and ball, but no lag from ball to rope.

I hoped for 10 rounds but I had to push to get to 8, after two rounds I was on target at 2 min, but wallball got SLOW but unbroken.

sub for rope is towle pullups, or pullups if you do'nt want to use a towle. Most guys I know sub 5 pull per rope climb.

Sub for wallball is thrusters. Sub a light weight thruster. 15 reps. What ever you feel comfortable with. 20 to 30lbs DB should do.

I love these "Behind the Scenes" clips! Mikko is such a champion. But looking back at the beach event at the Games, is it just me or do the waves look exceedingly gentle and no where near strong enough to blow out an eardrum? I just have this sneaking suspicion that Mikko is blaming the water rather than someone's kicking him on the head so as not to cause some controversy.

Comment #42 - Posted by: baqdraft57 at August 27, 2011 9:53 AM

5 rounds + 13 WB's

16 lbs Dynamax
15 towel pulls for each rope climb, alternating high hand and low hand. WB's quick and unbroken; 15 towel pulls gets tough real quick, esp using high hand/low hand grip.

Afterward, did 5 RFT of:

-Bodyweight power cleans, 5 reps
-Bodyweight incline presses, 5 reps (after reading the shoulder girdle strength article in the Journal)

5:46 using 135 for each (BW 133.8)

Subbed 40 lb dumbell thrusters for wallball since my rope hangs 15.5' from a tree in my front yard and I have no wallball at my home. Why do I always read the WODs and think they will be easy, then when I do them they wreck me?

5 full rounds in 10 minutes. My wind just couldn't quite keep up in the 90 degree heat with high humidity. Great WOD!

2nd day at Crossfit workouts. Did this today(Monday, 8-29)b/c couldn't do 1RM for today that was scheduled. Did a 12# medball and two rope ascents in place of rope climb.
10 sets in 10 min. f/38/5'4"/153. Only bad thing, threw ball up on first wallball and came down on my face. Not pretty! :( Oh well. My hubby called me a bulldog for not quitting. LOL!

M/ 37/ 134 lbs/ 5'-6"
As Rx: 7 complete rounds
This was an early AM WOD... it takes me a lot longer to warm up and get ready to do a WOD early in the morning. I'm always thinking I'm not really ready and I'm going to pull a muscle.

High rep wall balls are a weakness of mine so I kind of am looking forward to these type of WODs. I found that out in one of the Open WODs. I went unbroken until round 4 or 5. then I was going 10 or 11 + 4 or 5 with about 8 seconds rest. The rope ascents were not bad, but it did wind you a bit to go back into the wall balls.
GOOD WOD.. I would like to see what this would be like for 20 minutes. I think I could maintain almost that pace for 20 minutes. This was a complete WOD where really your whole body should be pretty taxed/ tired.
I am also really feeling better when I kind of wait on the wall ball to get FULL extention with the hips and legs. I am short so I kind of mini hop it up as well. The wallball I use is 18 lbs but I try to make up for that by throwing it up a little bit higher. The ball is also pretty solid, so frequently my heands are alittle sore from the catching of the 18 lb hard ball from about 11' over and over again.
Fun stuff.. I need to also concentrate on my ball accuracy... in that I mean I need to try to focus on projecting it up and out.. not just straight up. My weight is good on my heels for the most part but if the ball is not thrown out and up it will hug the wall too close and usually you'll need to start over .. wasting time and energy.

Rope climbs as per usual - to 12.5' deck, starting with hands at eye level.

9 rounds + 3 wall ball.

Rope climbs were fun, wall balls were a grind. Managed to stay unbroken, but it was spicy in later rounds. Failed once on rope climb, but right at the bottom - couldn't get the wrap, so dismounted and reset. Happy with this - wanted to get at least 8 rounds, and knew 10 would be a real stretch.
