His home gym looks almost as good as mine.

Daniel Frankel's home gym is legit. Proof that where there is a will, there is a way. Thanks for sharing and inspiring, Daniel.

Was that a gun in the home gym video at 4:43?!?!! LOL!

Comment #5 - Posted by: Bailey at August 25, 2011 5:54 PM

Yes, that was a pistol, not just one but two! I had to look at it a few times. One is a toy revolver, noted by the orange barrel cap. The other appears to be a pellet/BB pistol.
Great job Daniel! GG, as in Garage Gym???

Love the pullup setup. You have WAY more bracing than you need on the sides though. Your design is pretty much identical to mine. I used left over 4x4 cedar posts and had nothing more than a short angled brace on the front, back and inside of both uprights. It held and got a ton of use for around 3 years, when I replaced it with something permanent in my garage. Love it. Great job

The Carl Sandburg poem is pretty cool, and the poemhunter website is doggone nifty. Awfully nice of them to electronically catalog and store the creative works of 78,455 unemployed people.

Comment #15 - Posted by: Jay at August 25, 2011 8:59 PM

Haha, I noticed the guns in the background. No, they are both toy guns, although one is missing the orange cap. I think they are my bro's.

And agreed, log chopping IS badass!

Hello crossfiters! Question, I've been crossfiting for about a two months now and my hands look like they've been dipped in acid and getting worse with every work out. Any suggestions on how I can reduce the amount of ugly my hands go through? Thanks.

Comment #20 - Posted by: Josh at August 26, 2011 3:34 AM

Love the Garage Gym Daniel. So, when is there going to be a "PIMP MY GARAGE GYM" or "Extreme Make Over - Garage Gym" series. THAT would be pretty sweet.

Comment #23 - Posted by: mike k at August 26, 2011 7:47 AM

@ #20 Josh...using vitamin E (squeezed from capsules) worked really well in the healing process, but can be quite messy. Unfortunately, you have to build your calluses up to withstand the torture of Crossfit.

Comment #24 - Posted by: Travis L at August 26, 2011 8:40 AM

I want that gym

Comment #25 - Posted by: Erin Hightower at August 26, 2011 9:07 AM

I would like to see more of Kurtis Bowlers stuff. A while back we saw him do a MANCHILD Turkish Getup and now wood chopping! I would like to see what else he has up his sleeve to incorporate into an unconventional type WOD or anything in general.

Comment #26 - Posted by: James E at August 26, 2011 9:32 AM

nice home gym, mike jones! i heart home gyms, theres nothing like finishing a wod and lying on the floor gasping for air, in the comfort and serenity of ones own home gym. crossfit and home gyms rule!

As for the article, I'd have to agree with the comments on that page, it would get taken over by pirates. Of course they would have a hard time with the "very limited weapons restrictions" on the island and mutants he creates with his "DNA manipulation" he funds. Comical, thanks for the laugh.
