Great Forbes article on the benefits of cf and how it changes people for the better. I love capitalism and want everyone who takes risk to make money. But reebok is playing this deal all wrong. Stay true, be economical, educate and they will build a loyal and profitable customer base.

Probably needs to differentiate between corporate Crossfit and the individual affiliates.
Does anyone else think that the outlook for existing affiliate profitability is bleak, given that there are no barriers to entry for new/competing Crossfit affiliates?
The unconstrained proliferation of affiliates certainly benefits the recipient of the affiliate fees. But at the supply (affiliate) is allowed to reach equilibirum with demand (paying gym member population), would this not degrade/minimize profitability of the affiliate?
Thoughts?

Isn't there a chance that this will tighten up the competitiveness of Affiliates and breed a higher quality of Box?
When a market gets saturated and there is a high quantity of similar products, one of the main differentiators is quality.

I was able to do 50 SDHP without a break, after that my performance went to the ground. I needed to do much breaks on the high pulls and thrusters, maybe 10 in a row after I got half of them. I wasn't even sure if I manage to stand during the thrusters :D.
The chinups took over 10 minutes. Normally I can do about 10 on my first set which alone would take much time to do 30. Now I could barely manage five in my first try.
Phew!

It took me over 5 minutes to for my pullups. I would like to do this workout backwards so i could do the pullups fresh and then go all out on the row at the end. i'm better at rowing tired than i am at doing pullups when exhausted.

#92 Josh I am a firm believer that the Standard Model D is perfect for CrossFit. It costs less and does everything you need. Plus it would be tough to compare the times on both. “On-water rowers” seem to like the feel but times seem slower across the board. I am still using the Model D for my WOD’s

The difference was in the row. I took it a little easier (3:47 vs 3:34 the first time), which left a lot of energy to get through the thrusters and pullups. Also wasn't nearly as wiped out as I was the first time. So maybe gaming the row a little is the way to go here?

I'm not an expert in economics, but isn't capitalism based on the idea of a free market? I think you should have to work to make your affiliate better than your competition. Then you will be at your best and your clients will get the best. Competition is ubiquitous in crossfit, it seems like an owner of a Crossfit affiliate wouldn't shy away from the challenge.

This was a serious burner. Last time, I did this at the gym - doing it at home saved me a bunch on transition time. Got off the rower at 3:45, started thrusters at 4 minutes. Unbroken, a couple of quick breathers overhead (at 20 and again at maybe 35). Finished thrusters at 5:30, and though I was pretty smoked, it felt great, knowing that I had a real chance at sub-7. Pull-ups went 20-5-3-2. I was hoping to get through them in just 2 sets, but at least this was better than last time, so I'll take it. Funny moments:
Thought it might be easier to plug in the 1000m as a custom distance row instead of "Just Rowing". Unfortunately, my pre-WOD mind was scrambled, and I plugged in 500m instead. I realized this 200m in, and had been rowing pretty hard (33 spm, can you feel the adrenaline?), so decided to just make the best of it. After rowing a 1:46 over the first 500m, I hit the Back button and then the Just Row button, and continued for another 500 - at about 1:50 pace. Ahh, the best laid plans...
Was pretty smoked during the thrusters so at 50, I just dropped the bar - from overhead. Holy s***, that made a lot of noise.

Thrusters a little better. Make sure to keep hips back & elbows up. Rested w/bar above head. Still put it down 3 times & last time on #44 instead of pushing through.
