What's with the triangle logo? Is is a new crossfit logo, or is it a reebok one?

Very cool vid by reebok... that is what CrossFit is about. Love the community and all inclusive aspect!!!

Comment #5 - Posted by: Speal at July 21, 2011 5:46 PM

$55.00 for a T-SHIRT hahahahahahahahahahaha...anyways I'm sick of hearing all the complaints. Getting such a huge sponsor comes at a price... here is a question: Would you guys rather have had Crossfit never associate itself with Reebok or do you think that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks? I'm curious as I have been seeing MANY complaints.Personally, I think Reebok helped the games become a much more substantial world entity and so far it seems Crossfit has maintained its community based identity very well (besides the pathetic store lol).

Comment #6 - Posted by: Josh B. at July 21, 2011 5:46 PM

Gotta keep ignoring this Reebok commercial push, believing this isn't going to hurt the integrity of this movement... but god, the death of the Crossfit Store is making it really hard. Those $65 "board shorts" feel like an insult to Greg A firebreathing back in the '05 - '07 videos.

Comment #7 - Posted by: Mike R at July 21, 2011 5:52 PM

Love that reebok is going all in with Crossfit. It legitimizes the sport in my estimate. Reebok won't bastardize it because te sport is localized by nature. The core of the sport and it's rapid adoption is drive by the local box and the 'open source', everyone contributes culture of CrossFit. Reebok is just providing exposure. I love wants they've done so far. I will be a Reebok supporter. They've done all the right things. I love Reebok now almost as much as Crossfit itself.

Why 10.5 target? Isn't the standard 10'? If there is going to be a change in the spirit of 'constantly varying', why not make it 12'. 10.5' seems random and not at all an effective variation.

reebok lat pull down machine for 10k to go with the $55 dollar shirts $65 shorts... that is joke but what my question is, is this what crossfit's image is now, super chic working out? And is the image of crossfit and its all inclusive nature just as important to the brand as its programing? I feel that it is and further more i Feel the control of crosfit's image has been handed over to reebok and anyone who says that reebok sees crossfit as anything else but a way to make a buck is kidding themselves. Reebok has stock holders and profit margins to look after it would be unethical on thier part if they acted any differently. this is just one person's opion what do you think?

Comment #14 - Posted by: Rodzilla at July 21, 2011 6:30 PM

yea im sorry but f**k the prices on the new store. I thought 'elite fitness' meant elite athleticism. The only thing this store is forging is 'elitist fitness'.

Comment #15 - Posted by: eric at July 21, 2011 6:40 PM

Give me a break with all the "CrossFit wasn't founded on workout gear" silliness.

CrossFit is about the program and the community. It seems like some people need to be reminded that the workouts are FREE and it's not mandatory to buy the gear. If you don't like it or it's out of your price range, no big deal. But don't say that CrossFit isn't CrossFit because of a new, valuable alliance.

CrossFit is growing. The bigger it grows, the more people get to experience the benefits of the program and community. If you knew what CrossFit was really about, you would be excited that Reebok was able to help facilitate that growth.

Wanting CrossFit to stay low key and not get bigger and mainstream is selfish. CrossFit IS grassroots. It started small and grew to this HUGE, successful, life changing program. It has changed the fitness world for good. Anything short of respect and appreciation for that boggles my mind.

Everyone should be applauding Greg, Lauren and everyone who helped them grow CrossFit from a tiny garage to a fitness empire worthy or the attention of a company as big as Reebok.

Going to a free website and complaining about advertisement is outrageous and obnoxious.

On a lighter note, Ben's "Ready" video is hilarious! Thank you :D

Comment #16 - Posted by: AllisonNYC at July 21, 2011 6:44 PM

BTW, if you think one hundred dollars for a hoodie or jacket and fifty dollars for a workout shirt is expensive, please tell me where you've been doing your shopping.

I've been dropping hundreds of dollars at LuLuLemon for years just like a bazillion other CF girls. I've been paying sixty dollars for shorts, over a hundred bucks for pants and at least fifty dollars for sports bras for over four years.

Nike sells a pair of ugly, plain men's shorts for 52 bucks!

I don't get the outrage. The prices seem right in line with other companies.

Comment #17 - Posted by: AllisonNYC at July 21, 2011 7:01 PM

Also, I spit all over my computer screen during that Ben Hollingshaus video.

"Pukie" replaces Lauren?!?!?!
If I'm not mistaken Lauren has posted the WOD every day for a decade!
All the sudden at the beginning of July, the mythical "Pukie" replaces a dedicated CrossFit founder and there's no tribute?
Lauren I don't know you, but I've inferred some things about you over the years, and they are all good. With your daily posting, you've helped me change my life. Thanks.
While I understand that things change over time, I want you to know that I noticed. I will continue to be a CrossFit.com "junkie" as a believer in what CrossFit teaches, but there is no other way to say it than... it won't be the same to check the main site for the WOD and not see "posted by Lauren"

Comment #20 - Posted by: Jeff R at July 21, 2011 7:07 PM

Do we need to call the Wahhhmbulance? Come on people! I'm stoked that we have a brand that is tailored and branded for Crossfit: design input by Crossfit athletes, modeled by Crossfit athletes, sold on a Crossfit website, produced by a company that is embracing Crossfit (through athlete sponsorship, Games sponsorship, and having a Box for employees).
How many of you have other brand loyalties? How much did those Quicksilver/UnderArmour/Oneill boardshorts cost??? If you are training in anything other than hand knit knickers, cutoff jean shorts you found in the trash, and rocks you found in the forest, quit whining about the price! (I have considered training totally nekkid in the garage like the ancient Greeks and Spartans did). Would you rather pay money to a company that does not support Crossfit at all? Capitalist economies allowed for us to have all this awesome gear, and for me to buy a Rogue bar and bumper plates.
Growth of Crossfit is inevitable and I think it is fantastic that the greater populace and business are recognizing Crossfit as more than a fad or a cult. Does P-90X have a line of apparel from Nike? Hell no! And if they did, I would be pissed that a informercial gimmick is gaining more legitimacy than Crossfit.
I tell everyone I meet that Crossfit is the best way to get in shape so they can live life to the fullest, and will fix their "lower back pain" (deadlifts and squats will strengthen your back and increase core strength for midline stability duh). I imagine how insurance rates and healthcare would change if everyone Crossfit and ate Paleo. Do you?
So quit complaining that Crossfit is growing so large that the an international company is sponsoring athletes, putting up a million dollar prize purse at the Games, and giving us a brand tailored to our sport.

Comment #21 - Posted by: DrewB at July 21, 2011 7:08 PM

Wow $50 dollars for a plain t-shirt with small decal and $100 for a sweatshirt! I was excited when Crossfit paired up with Reebok, but these prices are outrageous. Reebok is at the bottom of the food chain amongst the other major athletic outfitters. Go to any sports store and tell me that all the Reebok gear isn't half the price of all under armour, Nike, and Adidas gear. Complete joke, prices are too high for Reebok and what I would have thought the Crossfit "community" would go for. Very disappointed with the store.

Also ppl please Crossfit makes money i.e; box affiliation fees $2-3K , $1K courses, Crossfit journal fees, etc. Yes it is a free website that is great for marketing that has allowed Crossfit to prosper and grow. I am not hating on them for that, just don't want to pretend there is no profit margin for them.

Comment #23 - Posted by: John S. at July 21, 2011 7:13 PM

@allisonNYC: to clarify, Its really just the prices that annoy me. I'd love for reebock/HQ to sell insane amounts of products and become infinitely popular. I'm not a success hater by any means. Its just that to many people, the ethic/image that goes along with hard work, which is done in crossfit, is not synonymous with flashy "hey look at my $50 t-shirt and my $90 haircut and $500 watch etc."

This is reflected in the character of the top athletes. Take the example of Graham saying he doesn't spend a lot of money on himself.

All I'm saying is this overpriced crap is out of step with the hard work ethic of crossfit.

On the upside, affiliates can still print their own shirts. I'm not trying to say 'its all over, crossfit sold out'. It's just embarrassing really.

@allisonNYC comment #17: I should have looked more closely at the NYC (people don't spend money like that nation wide)... If you want an example of a fitness company that sells reasonably priced apparel look at www.elitefts.com owned by powerlifter Dave Tate, he's been in at least five CF journal videos. Loving some of the new gear. I don't think I'll ever wear any other shorts besides Jordan. :) And I will pay $40-50 easy for those. Good thing Reebok/Adidas is the 2nd leading distributor in the WORLD of sneakers and athletic apparel right behind Nike because that's a smart move for CrossFit and Reebok both. I appreciate all the growth and am very proud of the CF community.

And I definitely wasn't ready for Ben's video, caught me off guard. haha.

Alison NYC - I completely agree.

Crossfit deserves any and all mainstream exposure and success it gets. It is a brilliant program and I love the community and the impact it's had on my life.

The 'what's happened to crossfit' brigade will always be here, like they are in every other area of the world. They were here in 2007 when I started crossfitting and sadly, they'll be here in 2017.

once and for all....if you think the clothes are worth the money, buy them. if you think they're not worth the money, don't buy them. you have a choice people

Comment #34 - Posted by: nick in sydney at July 21, 2011 7:52 PM

The only reason under armor is even in your Mind is because if the huge amounts of money they've spent on endorsing football, et all. I'm for one excited that reebok saw a growing trend and latched on first. Also how is Reebok "late" when they are first to support Crossfit? Also, since when was the culture of Crossfit ever "cheap"? I've spent mounds of money supporting this sport from sponsoring events with my own company, buying equipment, paying dues, entering competitions etc. In fact a lot people I know forgo crossift because it is expensive. For my money I'd rather support reebok and their apparel then buying a $70 Nike dryfit golf polo becUse I don't play golf.

Comment #35 - Posted by: Daniel at July 21, 2011 7:55 PM

Crossfit is a business. Its purpose is to make money. The free website is just like any other advertisement medium. It draws 'em in, and gets 'em to spend money. It lures us in to spend money on certifications, on affiliates, on the journal...to make money.

Reebok is also a business. They saw serious money making potential, and paid the crossfit bosses what it took to get a piece of the pie. Now there is even more blatant advertising, You need to wear THIS if you're a crossfitter, see Josh wears it, you should too. The huge prize money? That's an investment, friends. Get more people interested in the "sport", brand that sport with your logo, and influence the useful kool aid drinkers to bully the nay-sayers.

Its great business, it truely is. Its just so funny to read posts from these people who quite recently would shout "Just tie two rocks to a stick and do snatches! We don't need no globogym!!" who now shout "Reebok is a fine product, priced reasonably, and is of great benefit to our community!" Its comical.

Comment #36 - Posted by: Diabolical at July 21, 2011 7:56 PM

Im gonna agree with everyone else, the new CF store and CF reebok endorsement has just crossed over to what people in the "business" call sell out. I might as well just go to sports authority and buy a "performance" top. Come on guys, it cant be about the dollars all the time.

Comment #37 - Posted by: Noel at July 21, 2011 7:56 PM

Rachel, you wouldn't go into the Nike store and start complaining to management about their prices... not without being kicked out anyway.

To be honest, I'm not a big spender. My friends tease me about not liking to spend money. But I prefer to spend 40 dollars extra to get a high quality pair of shorts that will last me years longer than a cheap pair of Everlast .. (FTR I've never seen a pair of shorts by them that I'd wear).

I recently bought some cheap sports bras from Target and they were garbage after a few washes. I got what I paid for. On the other hand, I still have the "expensive" Adidas shirt and sports bra that I wore to my first cert years ago and they're as good as new.

So, I'd rather shop for myself and save my money for quality clothing. But thanks for the offer. I really do appreciate it as much as I appreciate your sincerity. :)

Things cost money. If you don't want to spend it, you don't have to. But do your homework and compare the prices to the other big companies before you freak out. LuLuLemon, Adidas, Under Armor, Nike.. Not $6.

You can always hit up Sears for a $6 white T-Shirt, and write CrossFit on the front with a Sharpie. That's pretty "grassroots".

Comment #38 - Posted by: AllisonNYC at July 21, 2011 8:10 PM

#37. Everyone doesn't agree with you. People who scream sell out are basically broke people or hypocrits. Nothing is free. I want to give Crossfit and reebok as much of my cash as possible for the simple fact that Crossfit
is f$cking awesome. If we don't support it, it will die. Also if it is underfunded then it will stagnate and start to attract really low class advertisers such as porn sites and online gamboling companies. Revok is legit and telnet are testing the waters. If th apparel doesn't move at $50 they will adjust their pricing. If the gear doesn't catch on they will redesign. However if they keep trying and everyone keeps screaming idiotic "sell-out" slogans then they will just leave and Crossfit will collapse.

Comment #39 - Posted by: Danel at July 21, 2011 8:11 PM

How are more people not commenting on Ben's video?? I love that Crossfit has an awesome sense of fun!!!

Comment #40 - Posted by: Erin at July 21, 2011 8:32 PM

Elite fitness has NEVER been about clothing, shoes or freak'n headbands! Train in whatever you like, the clock and the bar don't care what you wear. Many folks wear clothing to be associated with a group or the look of those with whom they want to be associated with. Whether it be board shorts or Italian suits. I personally could care less what you wear and more importantly, you shouldn't care what I think either. CrossFit will be here with or without Reebok, but make no bones about it, this is business plain and simple.

With that being said, if our association brings new folks (every day athletes or elite level) to the new approach to fitness and brings about better fitness and quality of life....I am all for crazy high priced gear!!!! This is NOT about business so much as helping folks get better at life. Let us never forget that we CrossFit to have a better/longer life, not the other way around. Carry on.

@ Allison

I wasn't complaining about anything. I really was being sincere - you asked where we were finding that stuff, and I gave you an answer. Heck, I don't even know what a "LuLuLemon" is.

I'm sorry your Target sports bras didn't hold up. The ones I bought at WalMart are still going strong more than a year later. But then again, I don't have a whole lot to put wear and tear on them :)

I'm a little disappointed by your attitude, actually. The pants are both sharp and functional, and the t-shirts I'm talking about are no cheap white wifebeaters. I find the way you're talking a bit degrading to those of us who don't live in big cities where $50 is like nothing.

I never have spent that much money on my workout gear and I never will, so it makes no difference to me, I was just trying to put some perspective on the situation and answer your question.

Very dissapointing. Who gives a damn about how you look doing a wod? I can do the same thing and have the same results whether I am wearing a $10 pair of shorts or $55 pair of shorts. Just so you know...it isn't the shorts or sports bra that people care about in your videos either. Lol. I have been a Crossfitter for 4 years now, and today is a sad day. I am very happy that Reebok and Crosdfit have come together so don't get me wrong. I am sooo excited that more poeple are getting into this. I do not want to keep Crossift small. I am very happy that Reebok has made some new advertising. I think it's awesome.

I'm not sure I understand the objections. Has the quality of the workouts decreased as a result of Crossfit acquiring a sponsor, or has anyone had reason to call their integrity into question?

This reaction would be understandable if Coach had previously preached an ascetic lifestyle, rejecting the trappings and responsibilities of a capitalist culture, but I don't believe that to be the case.

Don't kid yourselves. The workouts and info is great and everything, but this corporate partnership is ruining the original CrossFit model of a community that expands based on word of mouth results and real training. As soon as the all mighty buck comes into play, its all business. Isn't it enough to pay $1000 to get "CrossFit" certified? As far as sponsorship is concerned, I think paying excessive monthly membership fees and any other additional costs associated with belonging to a box should suffice in keeping boxes in business without sponsors. And to legitimize CrossFit as a sport and since CrossFit wants to aligh themselves with USA Weightlifting why don't competitors who participate in the games or regionals etc, subject themselves to drug testing? Only then will I recognize this as a "sport." Until then, its just great workouts. It's getting to commercialized with all the interviews, guys making their own shirts, to the point where these so-called "athletes" have such a deep perverted sense of egotism that it is taking away from the objective of getting as many people into shape as possible and helping people instead of promoting oneself and the "box" they belong to.

75 pound Squat snatches, 30 reps

40 pound dumbell Squat snatches, 15 reps each arm for 30 reps each round (movement initiates with barbell below the knees)

lol seriously! If you dont like it, dont buy it or wear it. Whining about it is gonna cost you 20 burpees post-WOD just like any other kinda whining in my box.

Truth to the LuLu reference, SHOW ME where you can get QUALITY(like LuLu quality i.e. my short's liner is lined with SILVER!) athletic apparel for less than a million dollars? I've been wearing Adidas my entire life, guess what? I can still Crossfit in it. Just cause Rebok attached themselves to a growing cause to catalize the movement... and the motivation might ultimately be the money, so what? We will ultimately gain cause we'll have more friends to workout with.

Bottom line, I've been trying to get my old man who NEEDS this program to stay healthy for months. When he saw a major company like Rebok partner, he said it legitized my "cult" to him. He now hits it with me almost every day.

So, personally, thank you again CF&Reebok for everything you've done and everything you will do.

If what you are wearing for a workout or if it is fashionable to workout in is a major concern for you then I need your life. I have never and will never go to a gym to look fashionable or worry about what I am wearing while I am there. Fashion should be the last thing on your mind once you touch that bar. If you want to/can pay $50 for a workout t-shirt, go for it. If you want to/can wear a potato sack as a workout shirt then awesome. The main thing that you should be worried about is throwing weight around and getting yourself in the best shape possible.

My legs are still wrecked from "Manion," a little less than 36 hrs later. Probably should have scaled down. Anyone else still sore from that WoD?

Regardless, I'm still planning on doing today's WoD as rx'd. One thing I have noticed is that soreness subsides fastest if I don't baby my muscles too much. If I don't do anything, it seems to take me more time to recover.

I have also noticed that the programming sometimes requires one to do work while sore. There have been times, for instance, when we work legs for the entire cycle in slightly different ways. I.E. a couple of days ago we did 203, 135# back squats, then did push-ups, rest day, then today is OHS and Front squat (basically). Personally, I was guessing lunges for today. Or, how about the Angie, Cindy/Mary, Barbara cycle of the 2010 New Year, can anyone recall?

I am hooked to this programming. I am a crack-fit fiend. Not even the right-winged, elitist, climate-change-denying, skin-headed fascism of this site deters me--the programming is that good!

Nonetheless, when I am this sore, trembling at the sight of the barbell, as the heated, excited molecules of air and water dance around it, I wonder: Are the programmers sadists?

Comment #83 - Posted by: Brett_nyc at July 22, 2011 7:28 AM

Morning. I've been here for 6+ years now, the cybergym my affiliate if you will. Every 6 months or so something or other comes up which prompts some group of folks to accuse Crossfit of "selling out". First it was the CFJ ($25! Robbery!) followed by L1 certs ($1000 to learn what is on the website for free!). Next up was specialty certs, and whoa, you shoulda seen the firestorm when the affiliate fee went up from $500 to $1000/year.

Oh, and did you forget about the St. Patrick's Day Pukie leprechan tee for $39.99?

Come the cries from above, below, and both sides. "Crossfit is selling out!" "The Crossfit that I discovered isn't the Crossfit I see now." And how about those Crossfit Games, eh? What an awsome sell-out they've been. There were...what?...60 people in year one, 300 in year two, and, I dunno, 20,000 this year? Each year thus far a net money LOSER! "Crossfit is selling out."

Hmmm...why is that? Why is Crossfit any different from, say, skateboarding or snowboarding? Motocross, or heck, how about NASCAR? Did the advent of the Ironman Triathalon brand and all that came with it (courtesy of an ophthalmologist who bought it, by the way) make triathalons any less fun? Decrease the awareness and availability of Triathalons? And for that matter, while we're whining about Reebok/Crossfit clothing, anybody find it offensive that every time you buy a Timex Ironman watch that same ophthalmologist gets paid?

The bottom line is that Coach and his co-founder Lauren turned down all kinds of opportunities to make a buck over the years because each of them would have either been a REAL sell-out, or each of them involved losing control over the Crossfit program itself. Given any thought to why it is that the Games are not on ESPN or OLN or wherever? Why it is that you watch the Games on a live internet feed rather than cable? Because doing so up until now would have required a REAL sell-out, relinquishing control of the Crossfit itself.

It's time (again) for a reality check. Crossfit has always been either really expensive ($200/month Affiliate memberships) or really cheap (garage gym or corner of a $17/month globogym). You've always had a choice between really expensive swag and gear or bargain basement stuff. Heck, the Board is chockablock filled with threads discussing regular clothes to fit the athletic body produced by Crossfit, and they ain't cheap. Nothing about that has changed.

What HAS changed is the size and scope, the sheer exposure of Crossfit the system and Crossfit the company. I have a post working in my personal blog which is essentially about how Crossfit has passed me by, but in truth Crossfit has simply grown faster than I've been able to keep up with. You can be sad about that, if that's what it feels like to you, but the fact that Crossfit has grown is not ipso facto proof that Crossfit or its founders has sold out.

Stuff grows or it stagnates and then dies. I miss a lot of what Crossfit was some years back. I miss having the community right here, on Crossfit.com, rather than in 3 other additional media and 3000 Affiliate blogs. I miss talking to Coach and my other friends involved in running CF; I think they still like me, but they're kinda busier now. I get that.

In the end nothing is more illustrative of the growth of Crossfit and Crossfitters than AllisonNYC. She was a child when she discovered Crossfit, full of wonder, wide-eyed at all she found here. Not really much of an athlete at all, either. Her posts could have had nothing but girlish giggles for a soundtrack back in the day. Now? The post above is from a grown-up woman. A business owner. An amateur athlete with some pretty good numbers in her chosen competitive venues. Her post is mature, reasoned, and well-written. You may not agree with her, or her take on clothing or prices, but she's likely to be OK with that. (I long-ago stopped buying anything but Affiliate gear, for example, and generic gear otherwise).

But Allison has grown up, and so has Crossfit. Both will continue to grow, and more people will be introduced to both Allison and Crossfit because of that. We should be rejoicing in that.

@79 Espinosa- Do you even understand what fascism is? Also please provide examples of the "right-winged, elitist, climate-change-denying, skin-headed fascism of this site" To label the site and much of the community in such a way is sad to say the least. I suggest you re-evaluate your prejudices and perhaps take a close look at the definitions of some of the terms you so easily throw around. Still I am happy to have dedicated athletes, or aspiring athletes, in the community regardless of their views.

Comment #87 - Posted by: Aaron (M/25/5'8''/180) at July 22, 2011 8:26 AM

First let's start by saying nobody is forcing anyone to buy stuff from the CrossFit store, just like no one forces someone to work out at an expensive CrossFit gym. BTW - some people love working out at a CrossFit gym because of the community aspect, the equipment, the whole atmosphere, which is entirely different than a big gym. Some love working out in their garage. People make CrossFit whatever they want it to be in their own lives.

Now, on to the clothing. Really expensive for what you're getting. I have cheap shorts and T-shirts from Target that have lasted for years. Do they fade, get ripped, get dirty ? Yep - that's what CrossFit is. For the price of a T-shirt from the CrossFit store I could buy 5 cheap T's from Target. Maybe I'm cheap. Don't know, don't care - CrossFit has never been a fashion show. The new stuff looks corporate - no skulls, flames, no soul really. Just boring. And no one knows what the delta symbols means - even CrossFitters don't know what it's supposed to symbolize. Bring back the stuff with soul and hard core designs. That's CrossFit. (and by the way, all shirts should say CROSSFIT loud and clear, not in tiny little letters in obscure places). Get the Reebok commercial people out of there and let CrossFitters design the clothing.

mjespinosa1@gmail.com

I am interested in civil discussion. Commands like, "I suggest you re-evaluate your prejudices..." without defining for yourself what you think a term means or suggests, are empty and useless to me.

i am looking forward to your e-mail, and to anyone else who is interested in civil discussion and debate.

Rough one again. I'm happy enough with the time. But I really struggled to get back on the bar. I'd get 5 snaches and put the bar down and my heart would feel like it was going to bust out of my chest and I'd get dizzy again. It wasn't justy intensity, I was a mess after every set. When i was done I was on hands and knees, when I sat up I almost passed out.

31:06 Ss really threw me. This summer is the first time ive even done things "as rx'd" so i get silly proud when i finish these. And just to add to the ongoing catfight, i was looking badass in my shorties from target and sports bra from wally world. 20 bucks total. Body that ive earned through sweat and determination and refusing to wuss out didnt cost me a thing thanks to this website, which someone mentioned earlier, is free. Cant buy muscles! Cant buy effort! Anf finally, i did a murph this year and got to raise money for a wife who lost her crossfit husband in Afganistan and believe me, she didnt give a s&$t what we had on.

Off PR by 1:49. Legs were a little heavy and shoulders a little sore from the last cycle. High heat and humidity were also factors. But the real problem today was that I just didn't have the mental strength to push hard through most of the tough spots. Just one of those days.

19:39 as rx'd I am quite proud of my time.

Think we all need to focus on our WODs, and forget about the new store. The only way anyone is going to know, for sure, if he or she is going to like Reebok's products, if they buy a pair of shorts, or socks, or a hoodie, or anything else they offer; give it a trial run, and see if it meets the demands of a challenging WOD. Some Crossfitters already have given it a try and they seem to like Reeboks stuff, so spend some of your hard earned cash see what you think or get on with your WODS!

Seems to me that by joining with Reebok, Crossfit sold out. The gear is cool, but having a sponsor like Reebok makes me feel like this is becoming a new version of Globo Gym. Reebok sponsored athletes...just doesn't seem like this is what Crossfit is all about.

Perhaps it's better that just work out in my garage. I can wear stinky, cheap gear.

I did all snatches from ground because the hang position makes my arm feel tweaky and there is no need for me to F up the surgical repair.

WOD #119 - Done on 7/25. Great workout today, not so much for the time, but because I finally got some consistent squat snatches. If these have been a problem for you, by all means read on, but if not, skip to the next post.
I tried to do a squat snatch right off the bat and couldn't find my balance. After a couple more failed tries I figured to heck with it. I'll just power snatch the darn thing and then do an overhead squat. But after about three of those I started to feel a rhythm and tried to squat snatch again. To my surprise I did it easily and strung together about 11 more. Continued in this way to finish the workout (however slowly).
Thank you for your kind indulgence on this "ah ha!" moment of mine. WOD as Rx'ed.

I did the WOD games version from 2009 where they cut off at 20 min.
30 wall balls
30 75 lbs sqt snatch...

Rnd 1 WB- 1.08: snatch- 6.48
Rnd 2 WB- 2.15: snatch- 9.24
I got 2 rnds and 5 wall balls.
This just sucked and didn't want a fail lift and drop it on the gym floor.
The good news was that the snatches were all to correct depth and my mule kick got a little better, not a lot, but a little.

Snatches I could only get about 4 at a time with a break, which got longer as I went.
Lower back got sore and I need to get better at these.
But it was a good thing to do.
