The "our sport" vid - some call corny, I kind of like it, maybe b/c I'm drunk, but since I;ve been CF-ing it's come a long long way - from a web based blog that i was using to rehab my back to reebok sponsored, quarter million purse games! Legit.
Can't wait to watch the next running vid, but must do so tomorrow. shredded. my wife got me a weight vest for my b-day, which I think is a symbol of love, not sure... but it was a killer b-day wod.

Well, this was definitely a challenge. Pullups and situps were what slowed me down. Still hurting from GHDs, and I could always get better at pullups. Still working on my kipping form. Had to start doing some jump assist with negatives near the end.

Rand would have been more honest if she had added "I wish" at the beginning of that statement. Her recurring error (and unfortunately this error was near the backbone of her philosophy) was to confuse "ought" with "is". She thought that calling herself a "romantic" made up for this (of course, since she had the habit of redefining terms like "romantic" to suit her needs and unsteady her critics, perhaps being a "romanitc" did wash-out this error - who knows?).

As for the quote it sums up what we should all be about. Crossfitters are competitive by nature (you have to be to take such pain) but who are you competitive against? Are you trying to beat the guy next to you? More properly you should be trying to beat yourself. No one ever improved by beating external foes; face the internal ones!

I really wanna do this one, but my legs are absolutely fried from doing loads of squats and plyos yesterday. I have trouble getting off the floor. Perhaps a gymnastics session for the upper body is better.

I did the pull-ups on the hanging trellis of a boat lift in the port we were sleeping in yesterday. It swung around a lot, so I did dead hang pull-ups. Games-style push-ups (lifting the hands off the floor at the bottom).

I plan on really working the chest to bar pull ups hard by putting them in every WOD. My rationalization is that the deeper pull will help translate into better muscle up strength. Plus, you can get better at doing regular chin over the bar pull ups by doing chest to bar pull ups, but not vice versa. Also, before "Barbara," I did 5x5 squats @ 245# and 5x5 shoulder press at around 120#.
