Good for Charles! You have to start somewhere!

I think if Kenny really goes through a workout he'll be more understanding :)

The Round Mound of Rebound!

That T2B of Chuck's is classic! Great video!

Love the flag pictures. Makes me wanna travel!

Comment #5 - Posted by: Vincent at April 27, 2011 5:39 PM

Kirk, wishing you all things GREAT!

Having taken a journey down the "cancer path" myself I breathe in deeply this motto: Cancer may take away body parts. Cancer can not take away your spirit.

It definitely is a reality check when your own mortality is tossed in your face at such a young age-your perseverance and optimism are admirable.

Comment #8 - Posted by: Andy at April 27, 2011 5:52 PM

those T2B were turrrrrrrrr-ible! git after it, Big-Chuck!

Comment #9 - Posted by: Robert at April 27, 2011 6:08 PM

What exercise were they doing?

Comment #10 - Posted by: Erin Hightower at April 27, 2011 6:12 PM

Compare the Yeats poem to Shakespeare's 15th Sonnet.

And Barkley has guts to let that on telly. Awesome.

Comment #11 - Posted by: rgoad at April 27, 2011 6:32 PM

Nowitzki's HSPUs look like the ones I do, about 2 inches of ROM. LOL. Charles took the ribbing like a sport and lets see what those other guys think after trying that workout. It inspired the crap out of me that he put himself out there and let himself be filmed as a new CrossFitter. Way to go Charles!

Comment #12 - Posted by: Evelyn at April 27, 2011 6:33 PM

Hmmm gonna celebrate and do some toes to bars and push-ups! Who's with me!!

Comment #13 - Posted by: Stephen at April 27, 2011 6:33 PM

What's wrong with them? MREs are delicious! If Hackenbruck thinks M&Ms are the "golden ticket" they must not have gotten a strawberry milkshake. Now THAT's good stuff!

30 cents - no kidding, so next time someone complains about corporate taxes not being high enough, you can remember that corporations don't pay taxes, they most just charge you for them; your pocket to the US Treas, with a short stop at the business in question.

Comment #16 - Posted by: Apolloswabbie 72.5 209 47yoa at April 27, 2011 6:54 PM

Sir Charles got his a -- handed to him by the girls in Atlanta.
Now he knows how the rest of us feel.

Comment #17 - Posted by: Dan at April 27, 2011 6:56 PM

Comment #18 - Posted by: tyson old at April 27, 2011 7:04 PM

Good job to Charles, and spaghetti with meat sause was my favorite MRE when I was in the Army.
Good stuff all around!!

Comment #19 - Posted by: duane at April 27, 2011 7:10 PM

Great video! So 2 things I can do better than Barkley: hit a 7 iron and T2Bs.

Comment #20 - Posted by: jimbo at April 27, 2011 7:17 PM

Way to go Sir Charles!! Keep at it! :)

Comment #21 - Posted by: Patrick at April 27, 2011 7:19 PM

Kirk, you are an inspiration. Keep pushing!

Comment #22 - Posted by: Mike A. at April 27, 2011 7:40 PM

That is fricken hilarious. That bar for Charles looked about as foreign as a 9 iron looks in my hands.

Comment #23 - Posted by: tipper at April 27, 2011 7:40 PM

Charles Barkley: "I'm not in shape."

I'm pretty sure that Crossfit @ North Atlanta on Howell Mill Road is gonna be BUUUUUUMPIN'.

Comment #24 - Posted by: James at April 27, 2011 8:49 PM

i saw him mention that on the halftime show the other day. i think that's cool. he was a great player and i'm sure he'll adapt pretty quickly if he stays with it.

anyone else predict the next Shaq Vs. to be him and Charles throwing down in a CrossFit workout?

Comment #25 - Posted by: Chris S at April 27, 2011 8:58 PM

Trust me,,,, this was not a "rest day"...thighs on fire yo!!!!!!!

Comment #26 - Posted by: Marci at April 27, 2011 9:34 PM

Ive always liked Sir Charles and this only makes him cooler. Keep it up man!!!

Comment #27 - Posted by: DougR at April 27, 2011 9:57 PM

Comment #28 - Posted by: Rebecca at April 27, 2011 10:29 PM

#29-it sure looks like that dude is pissing. He is holding a canteen though but he looks down at his junk like he is. funny stuff

that barkley video was epic. heelarious for sure. good times

Comment #29 - Posted by: Squib at April 27, 2011 11:18 PM

Looking forward to what happens as CrossFit begins to take over in professional sports.

Charles is taking heat now but his results in a few months will be astounding. Especially since he comes from a sport background.

Comment #30 - Posted by: Jonathan at April 28, 2011 4:37 AM

HA! The Looks on some CrossFitters faces when they take a bite of the MRE! Priceless! Try being in the field for days on end and trying to stay paleo or zone out those things.

Comment #31 - Posted by: Randy G. at April 28, 2011 4:58 AM

I love the look Chuck gives the camera!! Great video. He just gained some kudos from me!

Comment #32 - Posted by: dan m at April 28, 2011 6:00 AM

Comment #33 - Posted by: Mel/38m/5'10"/175 at April 28, 2011 6:20 AM

Just watched the Kirk video and saved it to my computer. I will watch it every single time I ever thinking of missing a workout because I'm "too tired" or "too sore", extremely inspiring! Keep fighting brotha!

Comment #35 - Posted by: Clinton at April 28, 2011 7:29 AM

Tax advice from Arthur Laffer? Isn't that the guy who thinks lowering tax rates actually raises tax revenues?

Comment #36 - Posted by: Latham at April 28, 2011 7:58 AM

Nevermind them Tuurable Knuckleheads Charles.

You'll be killing the WODS more than they ever will. Keep get'n after it Sir.

Comment #37 - Posted by: Ryan at April 28, 2011 7:59 AM

Hilarious links today I love it.

Comment #38 - Posted by: Joel at April 28, 2011 8:17 AM

After Hurricane Katrina all of us down in New Orleans lived off of MRE's for weeks. We love them, but still not ready for Seal Fit course.

Comment #39 - Posted by: Robert Bourgault at April 28, 2011 8:57 AM

That's the BEST EJ's stat o the Night that I've seen! :) GO CHARLES!!! Let's hope he sticks with it!

Comment #40 - Posted by: Moe at April 28, 2011 9:04 AM

Would love to see Shaq vs. Spealer, or Miko.
Good for Charles for making the decision to get back in shape.

Loved the Seal Fit Diet. In New Orleans we learned to love MRE's after Katrina. We ate them for weeks

Comment #41 - Posted by: Robert Bourgault at April 28, 2011 9:12 AM

Mr. Barkley, you have my full support in your pursuit of fitness. Like others have said, I'd love to see some of your broadcast-mates try that workout as a prerequisite to laughing at you.

Comment #42 - Posted by: Michael m/48/5'9"/175/MI Survivor at April 28, 2011 11:38 AM

Charles Barkley's toes to bars look just like mine. :-(

Comment #43 - Posted by: JuliePlatt at April 28, 2011 12:30 PM

I love Sir Charles.
If anybody should be embarrassed about their workout, it should be Dirk No-win-ski.
Blazers in 7!!!

Comment #44 - Posted by: BTS at April 28, 2011 1:13 PM

I just had my body composition taken for a work place physical assessment. On 27JAN2011 I weighed 151lbs with my body fat percentage of 17.7%. I haven't really changed my eating habits that much. I have cut back on grains and dairy, but didn't stop eating them entirely. I started following CrossFit on 03JAN2011.

Today I weigh 152.4lbs and have a body fat percentage of 9%.

I feel good, I have more energy, and my pants are getting loose again. I also have increased my strength rather dramatically in this short time period. When I started in January, I was able to dead lift my body weight: 155lbs. Two days ago I dead lifted 305lbs. That is double my body weight.

Huge results in a very short time period. CrossFit works, but only if you are consistent.

Thanks for posting the free WODs and for everyone else keeping me motivated!

I owe Dirk an apology. He beat my Blazers. Keep doing your silly handstand push-ups, and I'll do mine.

I just was scrolling thru old articles and read the 30 cent tax premium.on the side bar was a link to another WSJ piece titled "California State Prison Academy:Better Than Harvard". Although I am not a corrections officer ( thank God, I know several and I am not cut out for the job) I found the article rather condescending. I wonder if its author realizes that Harvard educated lawyers rarely have feces thrown at them by their clientel and the odds of being stabbed or held hostage at work are fairly low when you work on Wall Street. The next time she wants to write garbage opinion pieces like this one she should take a closer look at what she is talking about.

Comment #61 - Posted by: Dougr at May 2, 2011 10:39 AM

"Like Chuck, if I could be like Chuck!" Great work Roundmound. His T2B's look like mine. My record for them unbroken is 2! I feel his pain, but a little less now coming up on 6 months. Go CrossFit!
