Comment #16 - Posted by: Tosha Jeffries at March 28, 2011 6:06 PM

I had taken quite a bit of math back in college and I guess I totally missed the point of the article. I know I missed it because I went looking for it and have yet to find it. No punch line, no epiphany, just an incredibly dry article. Guess I will go lift weight instead.

Comment #17 - Posted by: Sid m36/5'9/175 at March 28, 2011 6:07 PM

Comment #29 - Posted by: Ann at March 28, 2011 7:39 PM

Rob O you are a beast. I'll be gunning for a mduch lighter weight tomorrow, but that vid got me fired up

Comment #30 - Posted by: Brennan at March 28, 2011 7:58 PM

Rob O is a beast. No doubt about it. But, knee wraps? I would rather see him hit the weight 'pure', without lifting aids. I'm sure someone will say I'm being a hater, but knee wraps (I've used them a ton) definitely give you a mechanical advantage & add to the #'s you lift, while 'preventing' injury. Thats a fact, not an opinion. Yes, I do realize they use them in powerlifting but they also use Bench press shirts & pretty sure those won't be allowed at the crossfit games either.

Either way, respect.

Comment #31 - Posted by: Nick J. at March 28, 2011 8:54 PM

Any idea what the song is in Rob's video. Just adds to his badassness. I'd like the track

Comment #33 - Posted by: nathan 31/5'9"/160lbs at March 28, 2011 9:05 PM

Rob is a stud, love the emotion, love that he's fine putting that out there, anyone who has ever lifted really hard can relate. He's the real deal, love it.

Comment #34 - Posted by: jesse at March 28, 2011 9:18 PM

@21

Yeah Graham is competing. He's not among the top rusults in wod 11.1 though.

There are difficulties in finding the results of athletes that are not in the top. When you search for an athlete and click on his profile you will get a list of the top 10 performances from that region. If the particular athlete is placed lower you will not see the result.

Unfortunately the leaderboard isn't searchable, so you have to browse through every page of the leaderboard and look for the athlete in question (use CTRL-F in IE).

Hopefully this will be fixed until the next wod. But I really can't understand why the developers didn't stress-test the website before they launched it. It's not like there is a lack of people who would love to test it out... I just don't get why there are so many seemingly problems with the site that would be seemingly very easy to correct.

I've only got access to kb's for the time being. Not sure how my amounts translate to barbells? Maybe about 80% or so?
Also just had about 2 months off with a back injury. Im so glad to be back in training but I feel so weak and out of shape again!

Did anyone else find it odd we're doing a strength routine focused on pushing right after all the ring dips yesterday?

Don't forget constant variation...
This workout right after the ring dips would be a bad idea if it were a standard workout routine with weekly repeats.
But I think we'll do just fine

Comment #88 - Posted by: david at March 29, 2011 8:38 AM

HELP. One of our athletes is ranked incorrectly. He has a score of 328, and should be in the top 100 men for the northeast, and for some reason the system put him in the 250s...which I am guessing effects our team ranking.

I also have 2 male competitors who tried to submit their scores numerous times and the website wasn't working.

If someone from HQ could please contact me at amy@crossfitsouthie.com, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

First time doing thrusters, took it easy on first sets to get movement down. Felt I could have done more weight, but no spot and gym doesn't like us dropping weights.

Spent 15 min prior just trying to form a proper rack with my arms and hands. Inflexibility in this are primary concern when transferring energy from the front squat to the press.
Years of forearm wrist curls biting my in the rear.

Does anyone out there happen to have any sort of presentation/ documents used to support a sales pitch/ demo for either a corporate leader or military commander? I started CF Slayer in 2009, but now I am trying to find a way to bring CF to my corporate HQs for our employees. I'm CF Lvl.1 and CFE certified. Thanks everyone. Also, Rob, good job, but those aren't thrusters. You're doing front squat to push press (which I admit is a marginally decent movement) but it doesn't carry the power output of our thruster.

Don't stop at the re-rack position. Go immediately into the next movement. Check out exercise demo on the main site for reference.

Hi everyone I'm new to Crossfit and I have a question about the WOD.

135x3 155x4

Although the above are my best lifts at the time I'm not tired, I have a ton of energy, and my muscles aren't fatigued.

Do I do another work out? Should I add something next time to the WOD if I'm not tired?

Thanks for your help people. It's much appreciated.

Hey guys. So Im a newbie and have a question about the WOD.

I completed the WOD:

135x3
155x4

Although he above lifts were my best effort at the time I'm not fatigued, my muscles aren't exhausted, and I have a ton of energy left over.

Should I add something onto, after or before the WOD? Is this normal?

Thanks for your help. It's much appreciated.

Why is this being glorified? 1) He's using knee wraps 2) He was thrusting more than he should have been (as evidenced by wraps and failures) 3) He threw a conniption fit.

This is not the model we should be trying to replicate in our workouts.

135-155-165-175-185-195-200(1). First time being able to even squat without too much pain since banging my knee up two weeks ago playing hockey, so I am pleased with this. It's still a little tender, so probably still a little bruised. Thrusters felt fine, couch stretch hurt (with knee on the ground).
