Awesome job Duncan and Matt on today's HERO WOD!!
Rest in peace, this wod will be dedicated to you, thank you for your sacrifice.
I agree with Daniel, I dont like seeing this many hero workouts. RIP
I have been hearing a lot about Crossfit workouts and a lot of people have been comparing them to P90X and so this is the first place I clicked online to see what the big deal was only to find out to my surprise that I recognized Jeremiah Wittman's photo, and that he's been killed?
I have been looking for Jeremy for a long time but I haven't had any clues to where he was. I haven't seen him since 2001. Last I heard he joined the Marine Corps, but I see he was in the Army instead. I don't know what to think of this?
I hung out with Jeremiah back in 2001. You will be greatly missed my friend!

Crossfitting for about 6 weeks, hooked....
I've been wondering if anyone else had ever thought of an idea like this...My idea is a search engine where the athlete inputs either exercises/equipment they have readily available, and the search returns all WOD's/girls/Heroes applicable to the equipment available.
Ex. I have a wall, pull up bar, but no barbell/plates...What are my WOD options?
Crossfit is hard as hell, EXTREMELY challenging, and that is what makes it AWESOME!
still nursing bad left hamstring. MRI scheduled for Saturday afternoon. Pain is intense with specific movements like toe to bar, deads, full cleans and snatch...going from the hang power skills are pain free.

I was excited about this workout as I really like power cleans and I can actually do all the movements.
I'm home with the 2 year old daughter today and I thought I had it set up so I could get approx 20 minutes to do the workout in the garage uninterrupted. Daughter was in the car in the driveway playing with all the buttons and switches and I was in the garage with the door open to the -17 C temperatures and able to keep an eye on her the whole time.
first two rounds were good.
Then daughter kept opening and closing the power door on the van. I was afraid of killing the battery so I put them on manual. Daughter cried. then she wanted to take out the tricycle (needed help) got it stuck in a snowbank (cried) then she wanted the stroller (needed help getting it untangled from the lawn mower) started crying when I told her to stay off the road. (by now I was somewhere in the 4th round). Asked if she wanted to go inside (nodded). Take her in, take off her snowsuit, get her juice, plop her in front of the TV and go back to the garage. Last 3 rounds uninterrupted.

What's 1.5 kettle bell sub, with a dumbell ??
@Austin: check out www.beyondthewhiteboard.com. You'll have to sift through a lot of workouts b/c they don't have a multi-filter tool (yet). I'll send in a suggestion for you. It's not free, but it's a great tool.
Will be hitting this over lunch break. May scale to 5 rds since this is supposed to be a rest day. RIP Sgt. Wittman.
@Stef 1 pood = ~36#, so a 1.5 pood sub would be a 55# dumbbell. Beware of grip strength & slippage from sweat, as I've found KBs are much easier to grip.

I have a question for you posters of the amazing times in the WOD's. I think of myself as a healthy, in shape individual. I am 33, 5'10, 203 lb, 9 % body fat, prior service marine. However, I read the times on these WOD's and people are doing them so fast it seems impossible. Are they just counting the time are actually doing the sets. Or are they adding rest time too?
I find it had to believe there are that many first class athletes just working in IT or Sales.
RX'ed Time 21:21 Left lower back was tight from doing extra WODs all week long just like this one. I need to stay out of the gym for a day or so.

Man, my time was terrible. Just looked over some of the other times and might should have just kept my time to myself. I'm 6 months into CF and lovin' it, but dang, 41 minutes is way too long. I knew after the 5th KB swing that I would struggle. I felt really good going into the W.O.D. Usually that means trouble for me. That 5K yesterday must have gotten me.

Anyways, still getting 'fitter' everyday

This one was a good one. Only made it 6 rounds. 24 minutes and change. My buddy threw up mid round 3 and he scaled it to 35lb dumbbell and 12" box. I was basically a zombie the rest of the day. RIP soldier.
Wow, I literally crawled from the kettle bell to the bar. I was freezing when I stated and left my wool socks on. Big mistake, never again. Had to stop and get them off.

Not impressed with my time. I went through the first 15 swings and then had to break up all the reps for cleans in 3s and swings/jumps in 5s. Too much breathing not enough working.

This was a hard and fun WOD. I like the movement from station to station. 15 is a good number. I did all KB unbroken with 55# dumbells. The power cleans were with metal plates so I started low with the small metal plates. I had to break them into 5 & 6 reps. Then I did the box jumps slow and steady. I am a pretty good leaper for a small guy, but high rep box jumps tax me for some reason.. like in filthy fifty I always force myself to go slow and steady for the first 50 because if I go too fast it taxes me and slows me down overall.
Anyhoo, good fun WOD. To make big improvements I wold have to do the power cleans in less breaks and go a bit faster on the box jumps.

Tough WOD. I did this up in Virginia at my sister-in-law's home gym. Controlled drop on all cleans (no bumpers). Just couldn't find anything safe to jump on at the rx'd height. This one got hard pretty quick, and was made more difficult at the end as my grip got trashed from the swings and cleans.
