That is the fastest DT I have ever seen.

She had a perfectly executed game plan with the 11 pulls rest+1 8 PC rest+1 6 jerks repeat

Comment #19 - Posted by: Drew Hill at December 23, 2010 7:48 PM

I thought the dl could be better as well! If you pause it you can see her butt needs to be dropped a bit to pull her shoulders back, keep in mind though it was light weight for a dl.

Every time somebody shows a video....some idiot on here gets on their form....would you all just give it a rest already and find something constructive to say for a change...If anyone reading this post has had and continues to have perfect form on every single rep on every single workout then feel free to say anything you want....for the rest of us just post your times and keep striving to do the best that you can do everyday....RIP DT...that is what this is really all about....RIGHT???

2) Gotta love the tunes during Annie's WOD...wasn't that the song from Rocky III when Stalone is training in the USSR?

Comment #26 - Posted by: Caveman/m/5'9"/200/27 at December 23, 2010 9:56 PM

@22
It looks close to an American MATV, but significantly smaller.

http://www.militarynewsnetwork.com/military-news/news1062.htm

Humvees were replaced due to their obvious flaws in IED protection which they were never designed to withstand. Humvees aren't even allowed off the FOBs anymore here in Afghanistan if MATVs are available. Still, they get blown to hell at times. The funny thing is that other countries like Sweden here have had V-hull designed trucks for awhile now and the U.S. has only recently (last 3-4 years) gotten on board.

Hey, I just started working out after mostly being inactivce for about 2 years, Im 18 5'11 203lbs and Bodyfat % is 22% I've been doing CF for the past week to the best of my abilities and I did yesterdays work out ending with 10Tabata score and 9:05 for the mile. Im just wondering if thats a decent starting point? Any tips with running would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Preston

Comment #32 - Posted by: Preston at December 24, 2010 1:26 AM

Let me offer EXPERT help; the song in question is Robert Tepper's "(There's) No Easy Way Out" which is featured in the montage (yes, montage) where Apollo is killed by Drago in Rocky IV. It was Tepper's only Top 40 hit and the source of today's Crossfit debate...until now. It wasn't a TRAINING video from Russia, rather a "Rocky gets upset and drives off in his sports car" video. I hope this helps...

When I did this WOD back in April, I dropped the bar on 115# hang power cleans. No bumper plates in a gym above a restaurant so I STUPIDLY tried to catch the bar with my leg/knee. Finished four rounds in apx 19 minutes. Nasty bruise and swelling and couldn't train for weeks. Today I still have a hard lump above the knee.

TODAY
five rounds at 95#

As Rxd
time splits were:
1.37, 2.39 , 2.38, 3.48, 3.36 = 14.20
DL straight
HPC: 9-9-6,3-5,4
PJ: 6, 6, 6, 3-3, 2-4

form slopy at end. PJ were good, HPC upto collar then down from catch, probably could have stood up fully more at end of lift.

Did a lot of subbing on this one

Started out doing everything at 135...did that for 3 sets...4th set was 135 dls 115 hang cleans and 115 shoulder presses...5th set was 135 dls and 95 for hang cleans and presses

I think if I do this one again I might set up 3 bars...the dls were very easy the hang cleans were tough and I couldn't do that many presses at that weight

Did everything at 135 all the way through

Wow….good met-con! Decent weight…could of, should have more weight for the cleans, and jerks…of course, would have been longer.

Decent but not o/s job of pushing. HPC toughest - grip esp. Much easier when legs straight, arms high & wide. Allows hip to get open. Jerks not too bad, esp when I would get good 2nd dip under the bar.

I have admit that my heart wasn't in it getting going. I'm feeling a little worn, so getting warmed up was slower than I like.... It was still a good one. I think there is a sub 12 in me if I cen get a little more time with weight overhead to get my wrists comfortable with it again. All this time WODing in a regular gym is hurting my OLY and overhead work....

Scaled to 115 - 13:00

Last time was at 13:20 so I'll take this as a win since I missed the past 3-4 weeks at year-end with the holidays and all. Prior to taking some time off, I was hitting pr's on most of the benchmarks, so I'm happy that this wod didn't reveal too much deterioration. Eitherway, it was really good to be back.

DL's were easiest part like last time, so I went a lot faster, this time it was atoss-up bt HC and PJ for what was more difficult. PJ's were definiteley turning into PP's after the initial rounds.

Comment #232 - Posted by: clark at January 10, 2011 8:24 AM

23:22, hpcs toughest, all sets broken. pjs also broken, mostly 4 and 2 but also 3 and 3. A nice pr of about 4 mins.

Hey so I'm completely new to crossfit. I'm 6'3" 245lbs. I've traditionally altered between bodybuilder and strongman style training methods but I'm very interested in trying crossfit. My question is if I'm supposed to alter the weight I use for this workout? And if so how do I do it? Is it based off of BW or is it based off of your 1RM? I'd appreciate the feedback. Thanks guys!
