As far as I'm aware the 1st hundred must be complete before continuing to the next one etc etc. If you were to break it up such as 10 pieces of Angie for time, it would be 10 rounds of 10, 10, 10, 10, but that's to my novice knowledge :D
Also the "What is Crossfit?" Is very cool!
I really like the WOD. Great test of overall BW endurance with all major muscle groups. As far as order, I do it like I see it but I know some do 10x10x10x10 for 10 rounds.
Just to clear it up for anybody with questions.
In this workout you must complete 100 reps of the first exercise (i.e pull-ups) before progressing to the next exercise (i.e push-ups). You may not break up the exercises (like "Murph")
so it's
100 Pull-ups first then
100 Push-ups then
100 Sit-ups then
100 Squats
That's what makes "Angie", "Angie". Should be interesting using the new "standard" for push-ups. Looking forward to the agony.
I don't think that because taking your hands off the ground after each rep came up in the games that it means there is a new standard. Angie is a WOD and has it's own standards. We shouldn't try to add to it but then again if you break up the reps and don't complete 100 before moving to the next movement you did something; it just wasn't "Angie".
I'm very glad to see the pushups with the raised hands at the bottom. It will, in the very least, quiet those who complain about other athletes' form and quality. Looking forward to doing this when I return to Florida.
Is it weird that I'd rather do Angie than Fran? I just hate those thrusters.
Is following the mainsite going to get me to the games or should i be following opt's blog for example? What is my best chance? I wonder how many of the top 24 follow the mainsite, workouts or who they are programmed by? Any help would be awesome.

Will have to wait on this...I've been following OPT for a while, but wanted to share what I did.
I figured this being my last month overseas, I set a goal of beefing up my workouts and mixing up some mainsite, OPT, Four Horsemen, along with oly lifting. My goal at first was a million lb-ft of work (vertical distance times weight) in a week. Then seeing as I was pretty close, and still felt good after a week of doubling up, I set the bar up to 3,000,000 for the month of July. Just reached that goal today! Going to tone it down for August, but just wanted to share my fun little data tracking for this month.

If you are supposed to pick your hands up at the bottom on the PUs then it would say so. Reference, last Friday 100703. As we all know, its scalable so if you want to pick them up, pick them up but its not a new standard.

I love 'The Girls" wo's. Minimal equipment- simple, direct- A lot of posters were complaining the other day about workouts that require too much scaling and too many subs- that it is hard to guage progress and relative times. What I do is use workouts like Angie or the Hero wo's to compare and create goals and just scale , sub etc... on the more " complicated' wo's and have fun with them. Many times if I do a lot of subs, I won't even keep time or count reps. Just get a great wo. Anyway, my 2cents.

The standard was not chest to bar for this event, it was chin over bar!! That is why she is not going chest to bar, no one is... Everyone thinks that's the new "standard" just cause it was in one or two events last year, kind of like the hands off the ground push ups this year...

Ha it made the pullups take way longer than usual with the swing of the straps and bounce of the goalpost. And the pushups were killer on the arms with the hand release. good hard WOD.

Sunday musings (thinking about change)...
1) Alarm clock. No need for one of these chez bingo. We have 3 dogs, two of whom have an internal clock set for 0600. Every day.
2) Novels. Clan Bingo is about to embark on "Cape Cod with the White family", version 19. I've stocked up on a couple of books (starting with "...Dragon Tatoo") as I do each year. Now that my kids are older I actually get to read them.
I noticed something fascinating and altogether unexpected while starting to organize for the trip: "The Heir" is doing the same thing! It turns out he "discovered" the novel while visiting and keeping vigil over a coma-bound friend. Read 5 or so books in 5 days, both fiction and non-fiction (I've added "On Intellegence" to my list on his recommendation). Mind you, now, this is a kid who owns a full collection of the Modern Classics...in Cliff Notes.
A rather youngish novelist, 38yo, lamented recently that the brains of our young are no longer 'wired' to read a novel, becoming incapable of following anything that does not offer an instant link to the answer, a quick cut to the video. I'm not so sure, and "The Heir's" recent discovery of the novel domain suggests that the quiet contemplation of a single concept or thought or problem is, indeed, still wired in. Perhaps it gets that way at the youngest of ages, the fibers laid by Dr. Seuss et al.
What's the last REAL book you read? When is the last time you read to your youngest? Gave a book to your teenager?
3) Growth. Do you have any experience with a rapidly growing company, one that brought something truly new to the world? You know, like Apple or Microsoft or Google. Facebook or Twitter. Ford.
Of course you do...you're here on Crossfit.com. Every truly new company goes through a rather predictable pattern of growth, from infancy through a goofy toddlerhood, an awkward adolescence on to some version of grown-up company. Every one. Some grow faster than others (Google, FB), some spend longer periods in adolescence (Apple), while still others mature quickly and live a grown-up life seemingly from the get-go (IBM, Ford). Companies founded on the brilliance of one or two people tend also to run along the lines of those personalities a little longer as well (Microsoft, Standard Oil, H-P, Apple).
So where are we today chez Crossfit? Are we still that growing family gathered, as I've oft described, around the dining room table? Pretty much one-degree of separation from every other Crossfitter on the planet, one phone call or email from Coach and the Crossfit OG's? Not hardly.
Some companies are run by planners, people for whom the plotting of strategy is an end in itself. These companies see the growth coming, plan for the growth, prepare and have a pre-readiness to manage the growth before it happens. The people who are the founders of these companies seem lacking in imagination, seem content to rest on the laurels of the original "aha" moment. These companies fly through adolescence with nary a pit stop in the rush to grown-up-hood. FWIW I'm probably in this camp. Crossfit most definitely is not.
Others, like Crossfit, are driven by the engine of continual ideas, perhaps deriving from that original "aha" but still more concerned with the next cool idea. Growth, especially rapid growth and success, is always a surprise, albeit a happy one. "Whoa, when did THAT happen" kinda stuff. These companies go through the same exact stages and phases as all the others, but they tend to spend a bit longer in adolescence, each really positive step or steps inevitably followed by an awkward one. Think Facebook.
Our place, our company, this Crossfit that we all love so much is somewhere in here. Past the point of toddler-hood, still growing exponentially as the founders and the people who've been on board from the beginning struggle through adolescence, all driven by ideas, all quite passionate about the ideas. They're all really smart, you know; they, and Crossfit, will get there just fine.
The kids are alright.
4) Netty Empsters. Lil'bingo had a couple of Target gift cards from his grad party so it was off to do some freshman dorm outfitting yesterday afternoon. Whoa...how did THAT happen already? Wait just a bit. Isn't it still summer break? I know I've been saying all the right things about the arrival of the empty nest, but it can't be next month. Can it?
Wow. What a bittersweet process this is. The hands on/eyes on part of the hardest thing Mrs. Bingo and I have ever done is almost over. I mean, the darned things arrived pre-assembled without an owner's manual, just plopped into the nest. FEED ME! I need new shoes. Whadday MEAN this skirt is too short. No...really...only a couple beers, Dad.
And now, just about over.
Oh, the parenting thing is not over, not by a long shot. Heck, as I've noted before, Grambingo is still in the active process of parenting her son, convinced that I'll eventually turn out the way she planned if she just stays at it (I'm 50 years old). Nope, the desire to 'help', the unavoidable fear that you could do or could have done more, just a little more, never really goes away. Nor does the fear itself, the fear that something will happen to your children whether they are near or far, nor does THAT ever really go away. (It was a very special and painful type of poignant to look into the nest after one of our dogs snared a cardinal out of mid-air on its maiden flight).
And yet off they go; no stopping them. Indeed, no real desire to stop them. It's our job, after all. The consolation, the reward for all of this? Well, for me that's the easiest question to answer among all that parenting poses. I get my girlfriend back!

Doing goo here then Martin found a wasp at rep 60 on the situps and I had to kill it and deal with him over it killing my time. He was fine, it didn't sting him.
Squars were ok a bit slowere then I like, but with all the leg work the last couple of days I was happy with it.

On a trip to Chicago. I printed out and brought along the list of body weight and no apparatus workouts. I chose to do Angie in 10 sets of 10, which is why I was really shocked to see it here when I came to post my workout.

15 sec. hold (alternate parallette L holds and stomach vacuums)

I'm really happy to have done 100 push ups-definitely couldn't have done that a month ago.

Did these out in the park, so improvised pull-up bar was used (part of a jungle gym) and something about the grip and/or angle of the bar ruined my pull-ups.
It took almost 5 minutes for all 100, and I was doing sets of 5 from 60 to 100 - I usually do 100 PUs in sets of 20 or 25, so I have NO IDEA what the radical change was, but something was goofy.
That said, it was a beautiful day in the park, we took the rings and did some muscle-up work after the WOD. Beautiful Sunday.
...should have added, this was the first WOD with all push-ups to the "new" (at least to me, hadn't seen 'em before this year's games) push-up standard of full extension at the top and hands and feet off the ground at the bottom.
Really seemed to tax my shoulders and the upper-outside part of my chest as well. Dug it. Just different.

Angie is a sweetheart. Pull-ups went better this time - took about 4:45 - and got the first 40 straight (PR!). Push-ups were hard, but finished in 4:30. Sit-ups sucked. I felt fatigued after the first 10, these took about 4:30 as well. Plowed through the squats in about 2 minutes - happy with the effort here. Legs were burning, but I tried to just keep churning out reps, even though my pace was slow.
Exhausted and tight afterwards. Amazing how Crossfit can mess you up with only your own body weight.

I have not been too into working out.. going through a bit of a lull I would say... maybe it's the bigger than normal gaps over the past month, with vacation, almost a week off while my brother visited and we went out almost every night, etc. I did this with a bit of a cold/ cough abd kind of didn't push 100% but it felt like a good workout.. for me the pullups took longer than normal, about 4 minutes, and then the pushups really took a lot longer than normal, about 4 minutes as well. This one's usually one I kill, but I just haven't had that spark.. I'll just keep on treading water and hopefully get the intensity and frequency up in due time.

Squats - all unbroken and fast for first 25, then at steady slow pace until the last ten which were also fast
Absolutely spent after this. Much improvement to be mde after taking it easy this summer.
25 minutes. 1st 40 pullups with a backpack with 6kg. All pushups releasing hands in the bottom, all sit ups unanchored, all squats with a barbell (20kg). Regards from Portugal

Took some time off to heal up and take vacation, and this was my first WOD back. For some reason I tried to do an additional 5 reps of everything this time. I felt pretty good, but I definitely wasn't at peak. Had to break up everything. Pull-ups still the most difficult part. Still, my times per exercise were a little slower than they should have been.

PU little tough. Only 5's for most part after first 30. Pretty good job getting back on bar though. Pushups only 5 for most part after 1st 26. Situps - slow & steady. No pause until 60 or so. Squats very good. No pause until 75 I think.

Did this workout after doing the WOD for SUNDAY 100808. I had about a 10 min rest between the workouts. This made squats especially hard because the legs were dead, and push ups were also difficult because of the burpees I had done. Still, pleased all things considered.
