The 2010 Games was fantastic. Thank you so much to all the folks who made it such a brilliant weekend.

Re the WOD: should that be 24 pull-ups after the 42 KB swings?

Good stuff. Really motivating for next year.

Great weekend. Those workouts were insane !

Maybe one day I'll be able to math the times of the masters ... women, even.

What's with Jason's gloves - are those legal or just normally frowned upon ? Saw a few taped hands but nobody else with gloves.

Comment #4 - Posted by: Mike at July 18, 2010 7:29 PM

Also, good to see the correct name on Kristan's check. Photoshop is handy :P

massive respect to all the 'survivors' of the individual event.

to say that was gruelling would be a major understatement.

I understand the need to test endurance but I thought watching some of those guys in the final event was that it got a bit cruel towards the end.
It was like watching WWE.

Mike #4, if you think what the competitors' hands went through over the weekend, you would expect them all to be wearing gloves.

Muscle Up/Snatch, High rep KBs & Pull Ups, high rep DLs, HS ring push ups, Toes to Bar & Rope CLimbs. Any two of those would have ripped the hands - I would think every hand in the comp was bleeding after WOD 2a

The coverage of The Games was awesome.
The highlight for me was any time Camille was on camera, always had a pretty smile for the cam..... before, during and after the workouts.
The low points were the constant over-use of CrossFit "slang" by the commentators.

Comment #9 - Posted by: G-Ron at July 18, 2010 9:01 PM

Good to see some familiar (and new) faces on top of the podium. I'm sure everyone is happy to finally see Chris up there with the top 3 and I think I picked Kristen to win it this year about 10 minutes after last year's competition. Congrats to everyone at the 2010 Games; the viewing online was incredible.

Couldn't agree more. I don't want to take anything away from any of these amazing competitors, but If you take out the shoulder to overhead (3rd WOD), or even score it based on percentage of bodyweight, Speal wins....smallest guy, biggest heart!

Kudos to everyone involved with organizing and facilitating the 2010 games and to all the athletes. I was glued to the computer all weekend!

CONGRATS GRAHAM!!! So proud of you! I got my couch potato on this entire weekend as I was totally glued to the fantastic coverage of the games. I couldn't believe the clarity and just overall stream of the broadcast.

Shout out to all the competitors. You are all so impressive and the attitudes embodied the true spirit of what I think Crossfit is defined by.

Comment #31 - Posted by: Corina at July 18, 2010 11:17 PM

After last year's Games, I admit I was a bit reticent when it was announced that it was going to be at the Home Depot Center. How could they match the intimacy to the athletes and the spirit of the crowd that Aromas afforded?

And last year's finale was incredible, I thought. Surely it couldn't be beat.

WRONG on both counts I am happy to state!

This year's Games was impeccable, outstanding, amazing and awe inspiring. The setting was intimate, the set-ups for the WODS fantastic--even the choice of WODS was creative and challenging.

The level of athleticism was better than ever and the competition was fierce.

VERY WELL DONE to everyone involved in putting on a most outstanding event!

#26 - a pood is a Russian measurement of weight. 1 pood is 16kg or 36lbs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pood

Comment #33 - Posted by: Mike at July 18, 2010 11:26 PM

The online coverage for the games was amazing. The technology behind that is incredible. Crossfit doing it themselves - Wow. I streamed it on my computer when at home. I streamed it on my iphone when I was away from the house. The quality on the iphone was outstanding. I didn't miss a thing the whole weekend. Thanks for that amazing coverage.

Comments on the games programing for individuals:
1) no row
2) no long run
3) no one rep max while rested
4) no throwing (wall ball, etc)

That is pretty interesting. Its as hard to predict what will be in the workouts as it is to predict what will be left out.

I'm really impressed they didn't have a row considering concept2 gave rowing machines to the winners.

Three scored workouts at the end was very well thought out. It left a lot of room for movement and kept it exciting.

For today's WOD, are the pullups all done at once? I think the most I have done at one time is around 14. Is it acceptable to do 36 pullups in as many sets as possible before moving on to the rest of the workout? Does that make sense?

All out amazing weekend. I'm so pumped about the streaming, it let me watch the games from my side of the world. I would miss most of the events live, but could catch up in the archives PLUS I was able to watch the finals, which totally made my day.

Thank you for creating the kind of community that puts all of this out there for us not only to be entertained, but to be educated as well.

I just hope that the CF Journal will feature a 'Complete Games 10' like they did for last year's games. I'm going to want to put those on my iPhone to watch when I need inspiration!

Congrats and well done to ALL competitors. You are all amazing.

The stream, coverage, scores, work out selection, everything was just awesome this weekend. I love the videos that get posted on the main site talking to all the competitors; it kind of made me feel like I knew a little bit about them all.

Does this mean we will be doing that last work out they did? I wish I had the equipment to do all that. I thought the selection for the last work out and the way it was set up was just awesome. I have only been Crossfitting for 6 months, but I loved all the action. Thanks to all the people who made this happen.

"but in my eyes Spealler is the champion! Especially if you compare his body weight/size vs the weights he had to push... it was just awesome."

If you compare that to the extra weight the heavier guys had to lift in all the BW movements (wall climbs, rope climbs, pushups etc), Spealler would be way lower down. Nothing against Spealler, it just irks me when people complain about the poor light guys when the same weight applies for everyone (315 DLs etc), a 220lb guy has a lot more weight to lift on pullups too.

The coverage of the games was fantastic, loved the HD streaming, but not a single legit 1RM strength test of the slow lifts or one LSD (row even?) Definitely not a good test of all-round fitness.

THANK YOU CF HQ for providing the amazing coverage of the Games. I did not get a thing done this weekend because I was glued to my HDTV with the mac hook-up. AWESOME coverage!

I have to disagree on some of the comments of the programming not being a legit test of fitness. Having a 1RM under metabolic stress was definitely a test of strength. There was quite enough running in that WOD. I don't think you have to have a 5k row or 7k hill run to test endurance. The weekend as a whole tested that. LOVED the last 3 workouts being totally blind with no gaming. That alone would have messed with my head.

I also disagree with Rich Froning "choking" on the last WOD. I've watched a fire breather before who typically rope climbs legless become so tired they have to revert to using their legs and have never HAD to find the foot grip technique that works for them. In the last WOD of the Games when your in first place with 12 minutes left is not the time to learn a technique. He is a monster (swept his Sectional and our Regional) and I predict he will be back with a vengeance.

A big thank you to every volunteer and judge! Congratulations to all the competitors!

Really enjoyed the coverage but completely hate the scoring system. By allowing your place in an event to determine your points (eg. 1st=1pt, 2nd=2pts, etc) you create a situation where fewer participants means less of a chance for a competitor to distinguish themselves. It's easy enough to have this system when you're going through the cut rounds but the final should have been treated differently, possibly keeping the scoring the same for the first of three events and then increasing the number of points you get for not placing first... Something like:

Event 1: (1st=1pt, 2nd=2pts, 3rd=3pts....)
Event 2: (1st=1pt, 2nd=4pts, 3rd=8pts....)
Event 3: (1st=1pt, 2nd=8pts, 3rd=12pts....)

Just seemed bizaar that the final 3 events were scored like the rest...

I have to post, that I did not enjoy the choice of the events this year. I believe they were heavily favored to bodyweight guys/gals. I guess as a way to counter the bias towards the heavy guys last year. Why was there no long workout? Why was there so much of a focus on the rope? I believe this year Crossfit strayed from an all encompassing fitness. The people that threw down this year are all beasts, but I liked the competition last year much more. Additionally, I liked Aromas more, it had an organic feel.

This weekend was pretty much awesome. The heat was brutal...and the athletes put up stellar performances. That last individual wod was a mind eff.....loved it. Can't wait to try some of them.

Larry- grow up. Kristan is one of the most humble and amazing FEMALE athletes out there. Its too bad that there are males out there who have their masculinity threatened because a female can pretty much own them in every WOD.

Comment #88 - Posted by: Bonnie at July 19, 2010 7:11 AM

great job. love the live feed. didn't get anything done all weekend as i was glued to the screen. kristen's the new spealler. crazy, what only one even out of the top 3? wow. and, finally speal gets his due. graham and froning are beasts for hanging with speal on the metcons at their size.
froning---get a rope!!

#47 - Cajun - So it's fair for somebody else to push against his own body weight in some exercises and with other exercises where it's either equal to or less than their body weight where others push against their body weight in some exercises and with other exercises where the weight is heavier or double their body weight?

Don't really want to argue or deviate from the topic here, but it just doesn't make sense the way you're reasoning.

I'm on vacation in FL this wk and I have been glued to my iphone all weekend.
Amazing games.
Amazing job with the live feed.
Amazing athletes.

What spealler did on wod one was incredible. I watched as mikko khalipa and Orlando (my fav) fail on reps with 135, and here is spealler nailing them. Even tho he isn't known as a strength guy. Just awesome.

With that said, everyone needs to give respect to Graham holmberg He is the fittest man in the world not spealler. Spealler is the man. But pound for pound, this yr, Graham is the fittest man on earth. Congrats!!

O and if rich Froning jr didn't start crossfitting like last wk and had more exposure to rope climbing he wouldve had the title. Tough break.

Can't wait to do this wod when I get home. I haven't done Helen yet so this should be fun. It looks like it's gonna tear my hands up as bad as eva did.

I have to agree with #72, but more in terms of HQ programming these WODS on the main site. I for one am not at a compeition level of fitness, which is why I dont compete in the crossfit games. It seems that lately, for me at least, the challenge of the wods have shifted from output (times, scores, etc) and more towards just being able to complete the wod as rx'd. How can I gauge my performance on a wod when I only have a video of top athletes performing it. Does anyone else feel this way, or am I just pist off today cuz I gotta do a bunchs of KBS?

Comment #95 - Posted by: jeffd at July 19, 2010 7:19 AM

Congratulations not only to the winners this weekend, but anyone who made the top 10. Truly inspiring to see the levels to which human performance can be pushed.
Incredible weekend, I started watching on Friday while coaching my afternoon group and we ended up doing skill work instead of our planned metcon so we could spend more time watching the affiliate comp. Wife and I continued to stay glued to her laptop all weekend.
Overall excellent coverage and commentary by the entire HQ team; Miranda came across as very polished and professional, like she has been doing this for years and Pat Sherwood provided some occasional comedy to break some of the tension of the heated competition.
Only thing that could have made it better for me would be seeing a pure strength event, maybe even a throwback to the first game and having a CossFit total. Although doing a 1RM jerk under duress like completing the double Helen is more of a test of “do you have the strength when you really need it” it is always nice to be able to throw out big numbers at my meat head friends =P. Cardio/endurance?? Being able to walk to your car after that last set of WODs is a stronger test than a triathlon imo.
Great event, already setting up things for next year to make a big weekend at my home of the games with friends and a cookout as this is my new Superbowl weekend!

Spealler was my guy, but it just goes to show that there's always someone somewhere working just as hard if not harder. Live coverage was great. Someone already said it, but this is my new Superbowl weekend as well. Finally to anyone concerned about the lack of an LSD or endurance event - don't forget these guys completed 8 workouts in around 48 hours, if that's not a test of endurance I'm not sure what is, never mind the mental side of the game.

Athletes, Judges, Teams, Staff, Media, Organization... Score: eleven out of a possible ten

Crossfit is like some kind of giant Fibonacci number experiment of human performance. The problem is; we shouldn't be able to see that level of improvement in human performance in a single games cycle/evolution.

Based on what I witnessed this weekend by all the athletes, we may just find out how much we are capable of as human beings in a few more short cycles.

But I'll tell you what; if you aren't paying attention, if you aren't keeping an eye on work capacity, or if you haven't noticed that there is a revolution happening, you will never catch up.
We will be too far ahead of you.

Brilliant weekend. It's awe-inspiring to think of how much better yet, we will be next year.

What a great performance by all. Glad to see Spealer on the podium and receive spirit of the games. He truly deserved it. Thought the games were awesome. Personally think the rope climb should have been put int the 1st part of the main event as fatigue set in, did not want to see any one hurt. Or maybe a gymnastic pad in case of a bad fall. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth. All in all, great coverage.

Loved watching Kristan, Annie, Valerie, Jessica, and the rest of the women kick ass! I hope this will inspire lots of strong women to get stronger.

I travel a lot and so have been to about 30 different crossfit gyms this past year, which means looking through 100+ affiliate blogs to pick out the box for each city. I've noticed that a *lot* of blogs post nonsense articles trying to assure women that crossfit will not make them "too muscular" or "masculine." What does that even mean?! Women doing crossfit seriously will get fitter in whatever way their particular body adapts to highly varied, extreme physical stress. For most women, that means they will get significantly more muscular as they get stronger, and for some women who have the luck of great genetics, they will get a LOT more muscular as they become more serious crossfitters. I always skip over the gyms spouting"you won't get muscular" nonsense because I know they tend NOT to be the best affiliate in town. Far from it.

Anyway, off my soapbox...just saying the games were amazing to watch and a huge congratulations all the athletes who competed. Sportsmanship and athleticism like nothing else on earth!

As a wrestler I was hugely pulling for Spealler, and was pumped that he made Top 3. But I gotta say--and I know this has been covered a little bit already by some commenters--but saying Spealler should have won or that he is the pound-for-pound champion just doesn't make sense to me. This is a sport that tests brute strength AND body weight strength / endurance. There were plenty of exercises this weekend that tested both. Yes, it's awesome to see Spealler on that first WOD. But it's just as awesome, for me at least, to see someone like Moe Kelsey ripping off ring hspu. By saying Spealler is the true champ or anything like that is kind of disrespectful to Graham Holmberg and Rich Froning, imo at least.

As for the complaints about not testing endurance with a long row or long run: I forgot who it was, but one of the commentators at the desk during the games addressed this point. He basically said (and I'm paraphrasing) that the sheer volume of workload that the athletes are being put through is a perfectly fine test of endurance. Sure, there wasn't a super long run or row. But 9 workouts in that time period (especially the last 3 so close together) was a perfectly fine test of endurance.

Ok enough debating for me. The online coverage was amazing. I couldn't believe the quality of the streaming--and being able to watch on my iPhone and iPad was great. Congrats to all the athletes and everyone who made the Games happen.

Fabulous time at the Games- wonderful to meet up with old friends, make new ones, chatting with friends via FB during the events...

Driving home with Goat and Herm, amidst the 800 CF themed conversations we had, we all agreed on how we love CrossFit's ability to keep raising the bar on performance- and how the athletes keep meeting it.

Amazing weekend :)

anyone else nervous about the significance of the HUGE paychecks for winners?

I am happy for CrossFit's success, but i worry a lot about what this "mainstream" jump means for the integrity of the community.

Are we selling out? Anyone notice the ads in the stadium for McDonalds, Coca-Cola, and Bud-light?

Are these the things we support? Why would we let them support us? $$$. Thats why, I'm afraid.

The events were amazing and the spirit of competition very much alive and pure, but here's hoping that we dont lose our way...

Incredible games.
The live feed was great and worked like a charm.
I loved the sandbag event and the the wall climbs. The 20' rope climbs were incredible, but I was scared that someone would fall and really hurt themselves.

It would be awesome if they could find a way to get in a swim event at some future games. Maybe an open ocean swim? That would be so cool.

Swimming is such an essential skill to life on this planet. To be honest, I can envision someone swimming to safety, and I can see someone running to safety. I just can't envision someone muscle- upping their way to safety.

Wow, can we have more people complain about the programming and being able to do WOD's etc. Is this the CrossFit page or the Curves page?

It was awesome, it was great, everyone was amazing.

Graham Holmberg won. Nothing else matters, it isn't a competition based on size, its based on getting "it" done.

People need to quit bitching about this and that, do the WOD as fast as you can. If you can't do it Rx'd, so what, do it the best you can and maybe someday you'll do them all Rx'd. It's about getting better, if you can't have fun doing it then go eat some ice cream and watch Adam Sandler.

HQ can't program for everyone and isn't there a site that does modifications off of the WOD?....

Maybe it's just me, but I go crazy for those super crazy hard ones.

I don't know, I think CrossFit is amazing and even at its worst it is so much better than everything else out there. Grow a pair and everything else takes care of itself.

I have a hard time reading these stupid posts the day after all those people just crushed themselves. Instead of crying it made me want to work harder, not to be at the games, but because I want to works hard those people did this weekend.

Crazy amazing, Graham you are the man and it made me cry more than doing DT!

Just wanted to send out a huge thanks to EVERYONE who had any part in the Cross Fit Games. I was under the stadium quite a bit this weekend with my son. All the volunteers were doing so much down there to make it all happen. I heard a lot of them were there until 5am setting things up for the final events on Sunday. WOW!! And to everyone else, too many people to thank on here, thanks again for your dedication and hours spent! It was an awesome weekend!!! If it wasn't for all of you the Games wouldn't have been what it was this year!
Chris enjoyed his first "cheat meal" breakfast this morning and I am sure he will be ready for lunch soon.

For time:
Run 1200 meters
63 Kettlebell swings, 1.5 pood
36 Pull-ups
Run 800 meters
42 Kettlebell swings, 1.5 pood
24 Pull-ups
Run 400 meters
21 Kettlebell swings, 1.5 pood
12 Pull-ups

time 26, something.

I didn't sprint the runs at all, I jogged at and even pace watching out for the calf which made it through with out cramping!

KB's I got 32 befor breaking then finishes up. pullups broken from the begining, grip and fore arms spent and Brady and I took turns on the pullup bar till last round.

KB I taped a 35 and 10 lbs plate to our KB to make 1.5 pood and it slipped each round and was hitting my hands, so I had to fix it on 1st and secomd round, i just endured the pain ogf the weights hitting my hands to finisnh the last round unbroken.

It was HOT, the heat takes so much. Good workout, it was a killer. Hats off the the Games people who did this.

@ 143 Brendan

I thought it was odd as well when I saw the McDonalds and soda adverts i the stadium. But then I realized those are the stadiums adverts, they were not a part of the games. The statium likely said they were not allowed to cover them up while using it. All of the Crossfit sponsors where advertised on floor level.

And mainstream doesn't mean bad. It just means we have to be more careful not to forget our real goals and ideas in the process. If CF becomes more mainstream and more people start doing it, that is good right, as long as we keep doing it right?

To repeat EVERYONE else... MAJOR KUDOS to CrossFit for hiring the crack IT staff for setting up the web servers to get this past weekend streaming for the planet to see. It's just another step in giving the planet a chance to see the very BEST athletes competing in events that athletes in major team sports wouldn't ever THINK of completing. And these men and women are cranking out these WODS in other than ideal temp. conditions.
Good to see A LOT of Speal fans out there and I am definitely one of them, gotta root for the dynamo (smaller guy). I'm (45) 5'8" 160# and what he does defies logic. #310 DL's, 135# squat snatches. Movin the weight that the big guys are doing... Fantastic.
And on the women's sides: Annie Thorisdottir... that woman is a machine. Simply unbelievable and to think that she took 2nd to Kristan Clever... another smaller competitor taking it to the bigger opponent. Kristan what a performance.
And a quick note to the CF staff for creating these WODS and using almost every available piece of square footage at that facility... the sandbag moving WOD... fantastic compelling streaming video. All the others were awesome, but the sandbag event along with the "unicycle" "costume malfunction" that one of the men worked through, it was great.
Strictly from an athletic perspective: it was unparalleled and from a pure "fan" perspective, it's a crime that Stacy Tovar didn't make it further, great competitor and I love to watch her move the weight... nuf' said. :-)

WOD today:
couldn't see moving 55# for all of those reps... had to move it down to 45# KB swings everything else as Rx'ed
24:10 (and to think Annie Thorisdottir beat my time by overall time by 6 minutes moving 1.5 pood KB swings... )

Comment #192 - Posted by: Spealer-Wannabe at July 19, 2010 12:26 PM

#143 Brendan: Didn't notice the banners, but I don't believe those companies are considered a "sellout". I may not do it often, but I have had a Bud Light, Big Mac and Coke Zero in the last year.

There were some great commercials by the companies that support CF. Again Faster, Steve's Club, etc... I am very grateful to have watched the first live HD streaming sporting event for FREE! Would you prefer that we all pay $50 per day to watch it Pay-Per-View style so we don't have to accept $ from the big companies.

Yes, the men are freaks, and I admit that was my spectating focus...

But where are the comments for the ladies?! Kristin Clever: 1,2,1,2,20,1,1,1,2 WTFreakishF?! 31 total points. Graham had 48. I realize it depends on your competition, but she DOMINATED. And same for Valerie and Annie: top 3 women, 125 points; top 3 men 168.

As for other comments:
--the endurance "event" was the weekend as a whole
--Spealler is an awesome athlete and guy! But don't worship him. Give the other fittest men on the planet the attention they deserve.
--Thank you HQ for the coverage! (Twitter needed more regular and detailed posts though for us at work though...)
--THANK YOU volunteers! You make events like this possible.

***My only complaint about the weekend is a big one: the rope climbs were dangerous, very dangerous. Shame on you HQ for stressing safety of movements, but then placing exhausted competitors 20' in the air with no protection. A fall from that height is considered a possible critical mechanism of injury in healthcare. Please make ropeclimbs in the future ~15' and increase the reps, or place appropriate padding under the atheletes.***

* my 2 cents on this years games ( please take it as such) Best year yet. The only modal domain that i believe was neglected over the years was gymnastics. And this year they fit it in nicely. They had HEAVY/short time domain events( the shoulder to overhead wod) they had LIGHT/long time domain wods("double helen", the 3 final wods which were about 30 minutes of nonstop work) And what i thought was the best part were the more "balanced wods". (the 135 snatch+ muscle ups, 205# clean+ hspu, 315# dl+ pistols+ du's). Then they had the "functional wod" with the sand bags.

Since my vacation and shoulder injuries, I've been trying to ease my way back onto the Crossfit plateau, but debilitating soreness keeps slowing me down.

Huge thanks to my dear friend Thomas Crubaugh for getting me "backstage" to the Home Depot "catacombs" under the stadium, and Coach's personal luxury box, including many introductions to many Crossfit illuminati. The Games were beyond mind-boggling. We saw such an impressive display of brute strength, endless endurance, and deep reservoirs of courage that I was totally exhausted just from watching and cheering. My fears of the Home Depot Center detracting from the up-close, front-row observation that we had in Aromas were unfounded, (at least this year), partly because the stands were nowhere near sold out, and I'm so happy because those 3-feet-away front row spots were extremely intense and exciting beyond words.

It was a blast to shake hands with Coach and Lauren, and Dale Sarran's pontifications were a joy to behold. Also, it was a delight to speak briefly with two of my favorite mainpagers: Fit Mom, and Bingo. Among the many "weblebrities I met were: Tony Blauer, Jeff Martone (who didn't count one of my weighted pullups), Kelly Starrett, Jeff Martin, Lynn Pitts, and it was an honor to meet Speal Wifey and Baby Speal! (Yes, I have tons of great shots of Speal, and will send them along shortly).

Thanks again to Coach, Lauren, Thomas, Tony, Dave, Miranda, all the judges, commentators (go Kim), volunteers, and even the Home Depot staff.

Finally back to the mainsite WODs after being on vacation for 4 weeks. What a WOD to come back to. Had some great workouts at CF Centex and Silverback CF while back in Texas. If any of you are in the Belton or Spring area respectively, you should check out those boxes. Anyway...

Did the CF Football Strength WOD

Front Squat 3 @ 70%, 3 @ 80%, 3 @ 85%, 2x3 @ 90%
Press 5x5 @ 85% of 1 RM
Ring Dips 3 x max

Then 28:37 as Rx'd on the WOD.

Needless to say...I am smoked. I can't imagine the hell the athletes in The Games were put through. Truly impressive.

A note on Speal. Not only is he just a great dude, but if we really look at broad times and those broad times being years...Speal has been in first place in the CF games at some point 4 years in a row. He may or may not ever win outright but since it is about being the best at most, I think it is safe to say that at this point, after being tested over a 4 year span, he is what we all should strive to be in domain of fitness. Just sayin'

W/U: ROM exercises, 20x.

As Rx: 26:13.

C/D: foam roll; Kelly Starrett's "Keg Drill."

Runs on outside road course (80F, 67% humidity); American KBS; gymnastic kipping pull-ups. Calves were still a bit sore from the 400m sprints 4 days ago. Still adjusting to wearing the VFF, but today's runs felt better. Of course, they were at a much slower pace. Pull-ups were much too slow today. The "Keg Drill" felt so painfully good. Definitely going to be doing more of that.

My perspective is unique. I have seen CrossFit through all of its developments. Even with crazy-*ss growth and the challenges, opportunities, and complications that come with that growth, one thing has remained constant. That is our amazing community. The spirit that comes from people organizing around hard work, camaraderie, and accomplishment is very special. It was so good to see that spirit continue to live and thrive at the Games.

A big "thank you" to all the athletes, HQ and non-HQ staff, family and friends, virtual and "live" spectators, vendors, sponsors, Home Depot Center, and every one else who made this year's CrossFit Games a great experience.

appear to have strained a groin muscle. Did Lynne (upper body workout) instead.

1st round: 5 Bench Press 180 lbs (PB), 15 pullups
2nd round: 8 Bench Press 159 lbs, 10 pullups
3rd round: 7 BP, 10 pullups
4th round: 8 BP, 8 pullups
5th round: 8 BP, 10 pullups

Both happy and unhappy with that - would love to have done it with a spotter.

Was slowed a little because I did this at the gym and the treadmill is upstairs.

Comment #382 - Posted by: sb 34/M/185/6'2 at July 21, 2010 4:50 AM

Changed this slightly:
1200m run
45lb kb x 60 overhead swings
30 pull ups
40 swings
20 pull ups
20 swings
10 pull ups

28 min - pull ups and grip are my set backs at this point. Did pull ups on a low bar where I couldn't extend my legs for the swing so that doesn't help either. Overall though fairly happy with my time all things considered.

Felt great, even though I was tired from being up late the night before. Had to break up the swings the first time around, and all the pull-ups, but I'm now able to do 10 pull-ups at a clip on the first set. Running is definitely the slowest portion of this for me.
