Wow. My favorite WOD the day before my Navy PT test. Guess the PT test takes back seat. We'll see if I can still knock out 100 push-ups in 2 min and a 1.5 mile run under 9:37 for the PR. I'm not skipping Cindy!

Found this article tonight. Interesting on the part of the FDA.

http://wcbstv.com/health/cheerios.general.mills.2.1007986.html

I guess Crossfit and the Zone can't advertise that they can lower your Cholesterol because that would mean they are a drug! Funny how the FDA sees it that if it helps your health it must be a drug! haha

Does alternating mean 10 with both legs or 10 total - right, left, right, left, etc.?

Comment #24 - Posted by: Josh at May 12, 2009 8:36 PM

**Noob Post**

Guess I get to go double time with today's!
"Cindy"
If you're a true noob, this will be your likely choice. You will be rotating through pullups (PUs), pushups, and squats. So do 5,10,15...and then do it again and again and again and count your rounds. Might help to have someone keep track or just tally them as you go if you're forgetful like me :) Keep it up for 20 minutes!

"Mary"
Exact same process but with handstand pushups (HSPU), one-legged squats (pistols), and still some pullups (PUs).

Any scaling you need can be found with Brand X Scaling as usual (Mainpage-Start Here-Brand X Scaled Workouts). And of course videos of the movements and even the workouts themselves can be found in the "Exercises and Demos" section.

Enjoy the fun that Cindy and Mary are :) I personally will be enjoying Mary.

Rookie: Eric's current official nickname is "cougar hunter". At least, that's what he's known as out here in the California badlands.

Of course, after running the gauntlet of the qualifiers, his nickname will probably change to something along the lines of: "Captain Awesome", "The Gladiator" or simply "Mr. Gohl".

Herm: I like the idea of splitting time between "Mary" and "Cindy".

Coach: Great lesson, thanks.

On the video:

Is poorly training Crossfit really better than alternatives?!

Some old lady who can now walk up stairs with groceries while doing poor-form-crossfit does not mean it's good or effective. Maybe she did nothing before. Maybe using nautilus machines or joining a step class would have improved her since she was obviously quite unfit.

Crossfit's staples are safety, efficacy, and efficiency. Why allow the the safety component to be taken out?

Coach's own article on the deadlift states, "I want to show her how to do this “essential activity” safely and soundly". I don't understand why he or anyone would endorse anything else.

HSPUs were easy, pistold got easier when I warmed up around round 4, pull-ups started unbroken then started breaking them up around round 5.

We've turned into a chalkless gym and it's taking a toll on my pull-up grip. Guess it's going to make me stronger in the long run but it's sucking now until I adjust.

never done Mary so she's my girl today. After watching the Boz video on pistol progressions I've been working on them, and today I will go to butt to bucket (about 15"). Also after seeing the Tucker video on how to set up an assist for HSPU's I have worked those in to my warm up too - you people who can bang out 10 of those are BEASTLY. I have a huge elastic assist on those, and still struggle for 3 in a row. WIth all this said - I am going for 8 rounds of Mary with those 2 assists (regular pullups). Thanks for reading, public goal setting motivates!

Does anyone know the recommended substitution for cleans? Is it SDHP or Snatches? What would be the scale? I have a bad elbow and can never do cleans again.

Comment #92 - Posted by: chasonh at May 13, 2009 6:02 AM

I was wondering if there was a progression guide for all the workouts we do. What I mean is, I'm fairly new to CF and when I scale the workouts using Brand X I would like to know when its time to move up. Example: When we did "Grace" the other day, I scaled to 65Lbs and completed the workout in 3:30. I think that means its time to move up. Example 2: If I were to do "Mary" or "Cindy", about how many rounds should I be completeing? I know that the rounds should be comparable at each scale i.e. an athlete doing puppies should do 9 rounds and a more advanced athlete will do the pack at 9 rounds where a seasoned CF athlete will do as RX'd at 9 rounds.

Any input would be great!
Thanks

I like the video and I believe in Crossfit, however, if that lady did a deadlift with a rounded back and herniated a disk, she would have lost her condo. That trainer may have helped his client in the short run but might seriously/permanently injury her later on.

Crossfit is a relatively high risk, extremely high return program. If you have a great coach, then the risk is very low. If you have a bad coach, then the risk is very high. I personally believe that Crossfit should have a traveling group that goes to gyms and does some quality control. If a coach at your box doesn't pick up those deficits in form that can lean to serious injury, like rounded backs and incorrect knee tracking, that trainer should be forced to get his or her level 1 again.

17 rounds. Did pull-ups on rings.
I'm wondering if CrossFit will ever do a 'masters' or (god forbid) 'seniors' version of the CF games? I'll be 55 next week and am in pretty good shape for an old guy, but nowhere near the capacity of the young fire-breathers. I know that CF doesn't like to distinguish between male/female and different age groups, but there IS a significant difference between 25 and 55, believe me!
Anyway, just a thought. Older men will die for points too!

Wish I'd thought of the threesome, but next time!

I should also note that today was like every other day at Gold's Gym - people staring at me. A few people have even asked me "what the F am I doing?" They cannot believe that most of what I do is based on body weight and CrossFit, but I feel better than ever.

I lied gang, sorry.

I promised to do "Cindy" this morning, but was expecting to have 3 athletes in the garage gym and we only have 1 pull up bar. Realized late that there was not enough time before work.

Instead I did a modified "Fran" using 40# dumbbells: 8:21 (feeling weak)

Then I did a 400m farmer carry with 40# dumbbells: 2:30 (feeling even weaker)

I'm going to take a few days off, I can tell my body is in need of some recovery.

Never Quit!

Michelle, because Coach says to. ;-)

Check out the FAQ regarding pullups and why we do them. http://www.crossfit.com/cf-info/faq.html#Exercises13

The short version though is "Short version: Kipping allows more work to be done in less time, thus increasing power output. It is also a full-body coordination movement when performed correctly, which applies more functionally to real-life application of pulling skills. Last, but not least, the hip motion of an effective kip mirrors the motion of the olympic lifts/kettlebell swings, adding to it's function as a posterior-chain developer."

First post ever...........x-fitter for 2 months

I was reading the post yesterday in regards to divisions(weight, age, height)

I don't see anything that makes me believe that weight and age divisions would not be more FAIR.

For age divsions, 45 year olds retire from professional sports long before they are 45 for most, because they simply can not preform like 20 somethings!!!

For weight division, 250 pounders potential to move weight around is more than a 125 pounders!!!

Maybe i see it wrong......science has researched and proven time and again humans' prime athletic performance to be 20 somethng to 30 something.

For weight movement, the snow shoveling story from yesterday didn't explain much to me.......given equal snow packs the smaller man did more exercise as he moved more weight as a % of his body weight....... take pull ups.......50 pull ups for a 125lb man or 250lb man, both have to move the same percentage of body weight to get done, like running or any other body weight movements/exercises this is fair

For prescribed weight exercises, How is it fair for the 125 lb man to say clean 135 21 times in any given workout which is more than 108% of his body weight while the 250 lb man lifts 55% of his weight???

MAKE NO MISTAKE I LOVE CROSSFIT and it is ONE OF THE BEST EXERCISE PROGRAM I HAVE EVER DONE!!!!!!!!

Please clarify for me.....

X-fitter for 9 weeks...LOVE IT

yesterdays posts left me thinking......

please explain the lack of interest in a weight/age division for x-fit games.....

i can not come to a logical resaoning..

science and research has shown 20 somethings to 30 somethings have the most potential for athletic performance and gains......

in additon, if we take into account prescribed weight WODs i see nothing to indicate to me that that is fair either.

please clarify

Michael #151,

I've always looked at division by age, weight, and even gender in the following light:

The world doesn't care how much you weigh. It doesn't care how old you are, and it doesn't care what's between your legs. It is interested only in a strict dichotomy: can you or can't you.

When you have to lift a load, be it a bale of hay, a stack of bricks, or a fallen friend, this holds true.

Therefore, any consideration of weight, age, or gender introduces a falsehood into your training, given that our charter is to train for the unknown and unknowable.

To allow this falsehood into the CrossFit Games would be a shot across the bow at our most fundamental tenet: training for life outside the gym.

Best,

Jon

They are expensive because your coached throughout your workouts. The people running the gyms are all well trained and can help you improve on your form and give you advice with diet etc. It's hard to find coaching for every workout at a normal gym.

Beautifully said.

As a 47 y/o male, 66"/135#, 3-years and a Level I into CrossFit, I am always struggling to do "as RX'D." But I often, depending on the WOD, have to scale. Your comments ring so absolutely true: in the end, it's about preparation for the games of life, and the recognition that on any given day, when you least expect it, tomorrow could end up being "game day."

Well said Jon.
I would hate to see any weight or age divisions in CF, but on the other hand, when CF has a 50 year history with athletes with 50 years of documented benchmark WOD performances, I surely would like to see some of them plotted in 3D to show Coach's definition of "health" (fitness over age) and compared to the general population.

Me: 42yo/M/5'10"/174lbs/11%BF

Warm Up: 1/2 mile run to the gym.

WOD: "Walking" Mary: 10 Rounds + 5 meters walking on hands

5 meters of Walking on Hands: I got most of the 11 sets of these in one shot. A few times I had to come down and get back up. I am getting more comfortable with breathing heavily while walking.

10 One legged Squats: I did not have to break these up at all. Definitely A to A squats with the other leg out in front, off the floor.

15 Pull Ups: I don't know if I have not really concentrated enough on pull ups lately but I had to break almost all of these into 3 sets of 5 reps. I think that I need to put more pull ups into my warmup. I have been doing only one set of 10 (Greg A's) in the warm up. I'll switch back to 3 sets of 15 in the warm up.

Have Fun, Train Hard,

Billy

I agree that it is easier for a bigger guy to left more weight. I do not agree that it is equal for a big and small person to do pull ups, push ups, squats, and running. I think it is easier for smaller people to these exercises. That is why crossfit works. I am a big guy and I get blown away by little guys on workouts like today, and the running WODS. On heavy lifting days I do alot better then smaller guys. As long as crossfit mixes the WODS up the advantage goes to no one unless you are around 185 lbs that is probably the best weight for crossfit.

Chose to do Cindy

completed 12 rounds

Notes:
* Pull-ups - first 3 rounds were unbroken, next 2 were broken 3s and 2s, final 7 rounds were jumping pullups, singles with an occasional double
* Push-ups - all unbroken until round 7, where it broke into 6s or 5s
* Squats - all unbroken, very easy

Pull-ups were/are definitely my weakness, so I'll make sure to work on them in the coming weeks.

Finally, Comment #100

I typically work out in the morning, and I hate it, and I do gas earlier, but it's the only time I have available and interferes the least with my other sporting activities (soccer).

As far as energy, I find that I'll eat a piece of fruit before I begin, an apple or a banana and that seems to work out pretty well.

As far as motivation goes, I usually trick myself into thinking that I'll just go and do some light work, but once I get there and go through a couple of warm-ups, I'm usually pretty pumped.

I used to work out at home, but I stopped because I didn't have all the equipment and I found it was tougher to get motivated because I was always thinking about work I could/should be doing around the house (laundry, etc), or occasionally someone would interrupt me to ask a question about something.

What is even more difficult when it comes to squats, pull-ups, push-ups, burpees, etc. is when you are long limbed. When I do a pull-up, not only am I having to lift 215 lbs., but I have to move that 215 lbs. a lot further. I have monkey arms and wear a 38" sleeve...that is a lot of weight to move a long way! Push-ups same thing...got long legs also...squats...same thing. Oh well, at least I can dunk with ease. :)

As Rx'd. 22 rounds + 5 pullups + 9 pushups (PR). Previous "Cindy" (12/21/08) was 20 rounds + 5 pullups + 5 pushups.

Felt pretty good through this. Pullups were fast, smooth, unbroken - kipping really speeds these up - only delays were in later rounds I had to concentrate on the kip or I would lose my rhythm. Pushups were okay, I got through the first 10 rounds unbroken, but (as expected) started struggling in later rounds, and did them 5-3-2, with an occasional single. I was moving as fast as possible thru squats. Felt great right after, very fatigued 10 minutes later, better after eating lunch.

I was just over 12 rounds at 10 minutes, but from that point on it was all I could do to complete 1 round / minute.

Globogym story - of course I was sweating ALL OVER the mat I was doing pushups on. Apparently, in the early rounds, I had an extremely violent kip and must have skinned my knee on something. I'm speculating here. All I really know is that somewhere around round 8, there was blood as well as sweat on the mat. By the end, there was a significant amount of blood there. Although I wanted to just crash after the 20 min, I had to clean up the mess I made first! Doh...

One more thing - 8th consecutive WOD!

running, pull ups and push ups are still a relatively similar percentage of your body weight no matter what size you are

prescribed WOD weights are not

the X-FIT GAMES are not the random game of life or death

they are a game/competition.......hence fairness should be involved

Only managed 9 rounds but did it by the book.

Was quite surprised that the push ups where slowing me down not the pull ups like I expected.

Will blame inexperience for my low number. 20 mins seemed like such a long time before you start. probably could have pushed to 12-13 rounds. Was to occupied to try to keep a steady pace to pay attention to how much time i was wasting.

Still AWESOME workout.. haven't sweated like that in ages... cant wait for the next girl.

I have a question about the Burgener warm up and cleans and snatches in general. I've been poorly coached in those lifts and have been trying to watch the videos and practice to improve. I know reverse curling is poor technique. In the Burgener warm up, however, it appears as though Sage is high pulling the bar up. If she is not, how do her elbows bend? Is that strictly from the momentum of the bar travelling upward? Thank you for your clarification.

Mary - 13 rounds plus 5 HSPUs, 10 pistols and 7 pullups. Missed 14 rounds by 15 seconds.

HSPUs done with hands on 2x4 blocks with top of head touching floor. I have the bad habit of arching my body on handstands so no nose to carpet for me. I'll increase the ROM a bit instead and focus on keeping an unbent torso.

Pistols done without support, 5 right then 5 left with hip extension at the top of each rep. Right side much stronger and better balanced - ATA each rep without fear of falling over. Left side below parallel and slower due to weakness and balance problems.

Kipping pullups done with Annie's frog kick style; my shoulder can handle these better than the regular swing style. Chin over bar as my healing shoulder can't handle 202 chest to bar pullups yet.

No breaks on any sets of anything.

Finished with joint mobility work for the shoulders.

upon further reflection on the video, I feel it is the wrong message for crossfit to send. Poor form has no place in crossfit programing, period. Quality control seems to be an issue and I believe having only a level 1 cert is not enough to safely and effectively train people.

People ask questions as to what a "fair" weight is to lift, but on running days and bodyweight WODs those same people say "3-2-1-GO".

Crossfit isn't about being fair. It's about what work capacity you have. Can't lift as Rx'ed? Scale down. I did last weekend; I cannot do "Isabel" as Rx'ed and had to scale down from 135# to 95#. Maybe next time I'll do 115#.

STRIGHT FROM THE IOC website

An ancient sport as old as mankind, embodying the most direct manifestation of human strength, weightlifting has not only flourished, but also developed into a modern sporting discipline for the 21st century. The apparent simplicity of lifting the barbell from the ground and over the head in one or two movements is deceiving. Weightlifting requires a combination of power, speed, technique, concentration and timing. Super heavyweight lifters normally claim the title of World’s Strongest Man or Woman. However, kilo per kilo, the lightest weightlifter is often the strongest. Men’s weightlifting was on the programme of the first modern Olympic Games in Athens in 1896. Women participated for the first time at the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000.

However, kilo per kilo, the lightest weightlifter is often the strongest.

AGAIN a need for possible weight categories

13 rounds (got cut short)

1st time Cindy, was shooting for 15+ rounds. Made it through 11 rounds by approx 15 min but due to the fact I was doing pull-ups on a empty playground but during school hours I was interupted and asked to leave. Made it one more full round then walked to my car and finished substituting "car dips" for pull ups. push up were my weak spot (have been maxing these out last couple days so that was likely a factor).

next time will be 15+

I like to think of it as 12 rounds minus 3 squats but I guess it's really 11 rounds plus 5 pull ups, 10 push ups and 12 squats.

Had 12 rounds the last time about 3 weeks into CF but I was in green band then switched to pull ups to rings, also was on knees for most or all of the push ups.

Today- pink band and all push ups on toes, yippee!

Nice work on all the PR's everyone :)

Comment #333 - Posted by: Michael F. at May 13, 2009 2:51 PM

I see the benefit of a Masters category mainly for continued inspiration & "compare to" type reasons. Doesn't even have to lead to a Games-like competition (although it would be cool if it did).

Tons of other sports have Masters brackets, and I know that is plenty of motivation to keep people engaged well past when they're competitive with the 22-35 year old set.

Maybe its something best brought up with beyondthewhiteboard.com or someone similar, and not here though...

Pathetic, I haven't been under 32 rds in a long time. I guess today was a gut check. I haven't been doing BJJ in 3 months because of a pinched nerve in my shoulder, so my endurance was way off, the squats really took it out of me. However, I also have been blowing off the zone and partying to much. Today was the a$$ kicking I needed to rededicate myself. No more using my knee or shoulders for a crutch.

One legged squats were done while holding the back of a chair for assistance. Suffered some extreme skin tears due to the old, wooden bar that I used, and some pre-existing blisters. Having to do pull-ups without skin on my hands was by far the limiting factor.

Lots of folks in a terrible hurry. This is the THIRD Annual Crossfit Games. If memory serves there was a little bit of evolution in the early going in the Olympic Games. I seem to recall something about the addition of clothing somewhere in those early days...

Cindy-
20 rounds as rx'd

I started a round at the beginning of each min, usually took about 35 sec and then rested the remaining 25 sec and immediately started my next round. Is that ok or was i supposed to just keep going...i figured i'd get more rounds out of it this way, and that somewhere around 7 min, 12 min, and 17 min i'd have to take fairly long breaks. Is this acceptable?? thanks

First time trying any of the girls. Only the sixth time to do a crossfit workout at all.....

Cindy is my new best friend to beat....

She beat me down for 16 strict rounds.

Might have gotten 17 or 18 but I was alone, so nobody pushing, and I had to tally my rounds so I wouldn't lose count. I love this stuff,,,, totally a new believer!

Michael #320:

Hmmm...so close yet again. I spent many an hour glued to the TV this past summer watching the Summer Olympics, the Modern successor to those ancient Games. I do most definitely recall weight classes in events such as weightlifting and the combat sports. I do not recall weight classes in basketball, volleyball, badminton, equestrian (think of those poor horses!), track and field (not even the Decathalon, the Crossfit proxy event), swimming, etc. etc.

I remain unconvinced of the need for weight classes for Crossfit competition, as we seek the most fit GENERALIST, not the strongest runner, or the power lifter with the fastest 5K time. Crossfit tests for greatest work capacity since Crossfit posits that he or she with the greatest work capacity is the fittest. One must prove that there is a compelling reason to determine he or she who has the highest work capacity at a given body weight. There may very well be just such a reason, but in 3.5 years here I've yet to read it.

My prediction is that with the unveiling of Coach Glassman's 3-D chart of fitness over a lifetime that you will eventually see that the temptation to "test" athletes at different ages will prove irresistible to Coach and the other fitness wonks who hang out here. In my opinion because of this (3-D model) we are much more likely to see sanctioned age-group Crossfit competitions in the future.

Remember, the Crossfit 3-D model of Health is approximately 6 months old. Patience.

Not bad, but still 4 rounds off of my max of 27. I had to split up push-ups into 6/4s and 7/3s which is something I never had to do in my prime. What happened? Looking back I’ve focused the last two months more on cycling and less on Crossfit. Going forward, I need to reintegrate 4-5 Crossfit (metcon specific) workouts a week in addition to the cycling.

Cindy 14 rounds + 5 pull-ups. I may have miscounted and had 15 + 5 PUs.

Funny story: I had no clue going in how I did last time. I started out thinking 20 might have been a possibility, but quickly changed my aim to 15. Turns out last time I got 14 even, but "may have miscounted and had 15". Next time I'll be sure to hit 15!

Warm-up: 500m erg row (1:35); 17 ROM exercises; AbMat sit-ups, 2x15; back extensions, 2x15.

As Rx: 8 rnds.

Cool-down: PNF of hamstrings & shldrs; static stretch, side and ctr splits.

Strict pull-ups, honest push-ups, 11-inch box squats.

Day 2 of my "taking it easy" cycle. For the first time since starting CF, my body was really telling me I need a bit of a break. So I've decided to take it easy on this and the next cycle. I'll either reduce intensity, scale back the weight, or both.

I did each exercise at my normal pace, but took lots of rest between exercises. Cindy is one of my fave WODs so I really had to force myself not to push it.

Thanks Coach for one of the best videos in a long time.
What a great reminder about what truly makes a good trainer. I have witnessed so much crossover between CrossFit and my career as a freelance musician. One of my goals as a teacher is to make my students better than me and to help them avoid the pitfalls that I fell into. Thanks for drawing the connection to training. beautiful.

Decided to try Mary today, since I've done Cindy every time since starting crossfit.
Assist HSPUs, PUs and a little balance assist with pistols.
A humbling 7 rds + 3 HSPUs.
Got stuck getting into the harness in the last round and therefore only got 3 but could have completed more.

Elbow bugging me so I didn't want to do the pull-ups so I did 200 burpees in 21 min.
First 50 were 4:33 75 in 7 min. then had a call, came back to station and started again next 50 in about 4 min. wanted to try for the 20 min. like for Cindy so I kept going to the 200. That hurt after doing trees all day.

WOW! I'm going have to get a new vocabulary for what I'm experiencing. My comrad in arms (Crossfit Regiment) wasn't kidding when he raved about the Corssfit program.

7 ROUNDS IN 20 MINUTES.

I started off quick and slowed down in a hurry. I probably started with too much weight on the squats for the number of reps required - it was the squats that did me in - I almost crawled out of the gym - I could have swam with sweat. Fabulous workout!

5 Pull ups shy of 8 rounds with 2:38 seconds left on the clock and my hands were bleeding! Not just your regular tear, grin and bear it time, I mean seriously dripping and lets get this washed and cleaned NOW. UGH!!
Next time, I'll know better.

Had to use a little assistance on the one legged dip, still a bear though and used a little assistance on the HSPU to get to full ROM each time.
Mary it is from now on!

I felt limited by push-ups. In previous times, I would do a set all at once as fast as possible and then rest (none at the beginning, 30-45s by the end); this time I tried to keep moving the entire time. I think I prefer the intermittent rest styl.

Late night 10 P.M. Workout! Yay!

I chose "Cindy" again.

My rounds: 17

My last time:

"Either then that I totally lost count but I'm pretty sure it was at 18-20 rounds."

This time I yelled out my number to make sure I kept count.

This time around I wasn't as "fast" but it was with more "quality"

Before I was doing a half armed butterfly like kipping pull but this time around it was a full out dead hang kipping pull-up.

Before (thanks to my inflexibility) I was doing half-squats. I don't have a D-Ball to check my squat depth anymore and I should get something that is the same height as a D-Ball to check my depth but I was doing full squats this time making it slower. Even though I lost count last time and felt like I could of got my heart rate up more, I'm still satisfied with my quality of improvment!

Almost rx'd. Had a green band assist attached to a pullup bar to help balance with the pistols.
3 pullups shy of 9 rounds. Pretty happy considering I was hoping for 7 or 8. Next time hopefully I won't need assist on the pistols. I'm going to start incorporating them in my warmup.

First time doing Cindy with kipping PUs. Definitely helped as all PU sets were unbroken. This time, it was the push-ups that slowed me down.

Tired Mary for the first time.

wasn't Rx'd I used a box to help with the 1 legged squats. Never really did them before this. I can see how it takes some serious practice to get good at them. Cool thing though my butt actually hurt the next day.

Managed 8 rounds + 5 HSPU

Funny thing was the pull ups felt like crap. I think it was all Grace, 7 rounds of 1's for Power clean. My hands hurt more than anything.

Pistols felt a little odd at fist. Was stronger on the left for some reason.

Good work everyone.

Why you GOTTA get to a Crossfit box if you can...

Doing my first Cindy today at the globo gym. Hardly anyone there. But more active than my 4:30 a.m. start with a couple of zombies here and there. Great. I'm just using the pullup/dip area and the floor next to it. Check. No treadmills, no long delays between exercises. No worries... I'm all set... WRONG...
I kid you not... I haven't finished my second set (so I'm less than 2 minutes into the WOD, my towel is on the bar) this guy jumps on the dip bars (there are three others in the gym!!) and I'm (fill in the blank)!!! So I'm standing there wondering what is going on then I get so worked up I do 7 PUs and no sooner am I doing pushups he's doing it again. This happened a couple of times and honestly, he might as well have been doing shrugs his dip ROM was so lousy. If I could have lifted my arms or legs it was going to get ugly. So... if you can...
Get some... at Crossfit box!

11 rounds. Down on last time, don't know why.

Had to try and find a space to do the Push-ups, too many bars and blokes in the gym taking up all the space. As I was trying the Push-ups they were basically walking over the top of me and they wondered why I was laughing!!

Gym is sooooo hot, I always have to open the fire door to get some cool air in and the staff keep shutting it. Driving me nuts. BB's are now opening the door to keep me happy. (does not take a lot to make me happy either that or they are trying to shut me up)

I did "Cindy" today. 21 sets plus 5 pullups. No better than my last, but still a great workout! My two oldest kids, Jake (8), and Cori (4) did my version of "Baby Cindy" 2 pullups, 4 pushups, and 8 squats. AMRAP of 10 minutes. Thought I had done fairly well until I read the comments and looked at the demos and saw what the Crossfit "one-legged squat" really was. Ouch. Mine was more like just a dinky lunge. :-D

So, my Tuesday morning started with the CFE WOD for cycling which was:

Three rounds, .5 Mile, 1 mile, 2mile all out effort, and rest two times the time it took to complete each interval.

Now, the CFE didn't look all that tough, but as I started my last two miles on the stationary bike at mile 18 I had to question my sanity yet once again. 20 miles on a road bike, no problem. 20 miles on a stationary bike made me want to jab my eyes with a dull pencil.

Cindy as Rx'd = 20 rounds

I know I could do better simply because I spent too much time between rounds after round 11 at 7:30. I just think I psyched myself out since I set a goal of 20, but next time will be much better.
