Comment #5 - Posted by: Keith M at October 20, 2008 7:46 PM

Now this one actually looks fun for a change.

Comment #6 - Posted by: Angry at October 20, 2008 7:48 PM

I remember this one from a while back. Awesome wod I'm pumped.. I got 9 rounds and 2 cleans today. My grip gave out and it really slowed me down in the end, I was pretty upset cause I really wasn't that tired but oh well. Tomoro will be good.

Comment #7 - Posted by: marco polo at October 20, 2008 7:48 PM

i'm in the middle of watching the video

is it just me or does josh do the muscle ups w/o having to use the false grip?

Comment #8 - Posted by: dan at October 20, 2008 7:49 PM

Can't wait to do this!

aloha,

Jordan

Comment #13 - Posted by: Cody Lee Johnson at October 20, 2008 7:51 PM

That is one of the most impressive performances I've ever seen. He pulls 455 like it is nothing at 185 lbs. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comment #14 - Posted by: dtrain54 at October 20, 2008 7:52 PM

Where can I get one of those computer chips Josh? You're a machine dude!

Comment #15 - Posted by: Chuck-CF east decatur at October 20, 2008 7:53 PM

Side note, what are the odds that Guerrilla Fitness was the first CF affiliate to get robbed? Pissed...

Comment #16 - Posted by: Hard Charger_ Guerrilla Fitness_ NJ at October 20, 2008 7:54 PM

(clap clap clap clap clap)...respect, Mr. Everett.

Comment #17 - Posted by: po m/30/170# at October 20, 2008 7:55 PM

Well this should be interesting.

going into the 4th day of the fifty days of the filthy fifty. Broke through the barrier yesterday to score a new PR for the filthy fifty. Followed it up with the daily WOD and of course the Pull-up challenge and 30 min eliptical.

3,2,1...Get Some and Go!

Comment #18 - Posted by: Chris Manning at October 20, 2008 7:55 PM

Great work Josh!

Comment #19 - Posted by: tom Brose at October 20, 2008 7:56 PM

That's a baaaaaaaaad man.

Comment #20 - Posted by: wink at October 20, 2008 7:56 PM

Hey Josh,

All that applause you hear... that's for you.

Comment #21 - Posted by: theBurch at October 20, 2008 7:56 PM

I dont know if I'm more impressed with his time on the WOD, or that he Snatched 255 and C&J 335...good lord.

Comment #22 - Posted by: MeC86 at October 20, 2008 7:57 PM

Funny, the day the first "King Kong" video came out, first thing I said was "I'd like to see Josh try this one."

Comment #23 - Posted by: Jacob "BullFrog" Tsypkin at October 20, 2008 7:58 PM

OK im gonna LOVE this WOD haha people gonna look at me weird with my bad ass butterfly going on! Good luck to all!

Estemated time? 8 minutes maybe? Speal sup 5 probly lol

Comment #24 - Posted by: Peaches | M | 21 | 170lbs / 5'9 | Ontario, Canada at October 20, 2008 7:58 PM

did . . . did big o's o just get bigger?

Comment #25 - Posted by: pq at October 20, 2008 7:58 PM

Comment #8 - Dan, you are correct, he is not using a false grip, at least the first 2 muscle-ups.

That is insane. I weight about 177 and can't even imagine pulling that weight. At 5'7" it should be pretty easy since I have less distance to travel. Maybe I'll attempt a Diddy Kong.

Comment #26 - Posted by: Baryn Haas at October 20, 2008 8:00 PM

Very impressive video Josh!!!!!!!!!!

Great job bro!!

Comment #27 - Posted by: Jason Khalipa at October 20, 2008 8:02 PM

Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

This one nearly killed me last time.

Of course, it was June, at lunch, about 102 F and 80% humidity.

This one rocks!

Comment #28 - Posted by: Wade at October 20, 2008 8:03 PM

That.
Was.
Sick.

This burpee/ pullup wod, not so much.

Cert at CFSBK was great this past weekend. big thanks to all the trainers and David O for hosting.

Comment #29 - Posted by: Brett_nyc at October 20, 2008 8:06 PM

That was the sickest video I've ever seen on this sight. Even if Everett comes 2nd next year, I'd proclaim him the fittest man on earth.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Comment #30 - Posted by: Alex m/28/6'3'/166# at October 20, 2008 8:09 PM

Nice video. I quit.

Comment #31 - Posted by: John Seiler at October 20, 2008 8:10 PM

What. A. Beast.

I will run into pukie tomorrow. I can feel it.

Comment #32 - Posted by: LF at October 20, 2008 8:11 PM

I honestly laughed when I seen the first king kong video come out. Not that I can complete that WOD. Its 10lbs more than my pr in DL and 5 lbs less than my clean pr. I said to myself that Josh would absolutely destroy this wod considering his total is well over 1100 and he is just an animal!! Nice job Josh!!

Comment #33 - Posted by: Miguel-CFSD at October 20, 2008 8:14 PM

Yay, burpees tomorrow! I just puked in my mouth reading that.

Josh Everett just proved what we already knew: He is not human.

Comment #34 - Posted by: Muffin at October 20, 2008 8:14 PM

Inspiring and freakish work Josh! Huge thanks to you, Greg A, Tony, Dave, Jimi, Steve, Malee, and Squat Nazi Rachel and Sevan for running a life changing Cert.

Comment #35 - Posted by: Zeb at October 20, 2008 8:14 PM

that video is one word. motivation.

Comment #36 - Posted by: Ryan P at October 20, 2008 8:16 PM

does anybody know how tall josh everett is?

Comment #37 - Posted by: Andy @ UT at October 20, 2008 8:16 PM

Good Grief, Josh! You are an animal! I passed "impressed" on the first round. That was AWESOME!

Comment #38 - Posted by: peejay2 at October 20, 2008 8:17 PM

Wowwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is beastly.

I may have to try it. I know I can do the deadlift and the squat cleans, but the muscle ups are a problem. Kudddoooosssss bud.

Comment #39 - Posted by: MACK at October 20, 2008 8:18 PM

so much respect for that. his body weight is only 185lb, that was insane.

Comment #40 - Posted by: max at October 20, 2008 8:18 PM

Sick vid. Tomorrow's workout looks nice. At least it's one that I can do in my gym without risking getting kicked out.

Comment #41 - Posted by: KieranGT_21/M/170/5'11" at October 20, 2008 8:18 PM

Anyone thought about doing part of this WOD a la "G.I. Jane" style with burpee pull-ups?

If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out Greg Amundson's peformance here: http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/CrossFit_AmundsonGIJane.wmv (wfs)

Comment #42 - Posted by: CR at October 20, 2008 8:21 PM

Josh Everett, edge of my seat! Incrdible! I doubt anyone will best that.
Congradulations to the affiliate that thought up "King Kong." This has been fun watching this one unfold.

Comment #43 - Posted by: Mark Lee at October 20, 2008 8:22 PM

Jake #32,

It is off of CrossFit Babylon's site. It is structured off of the Burpee challenge.

100 Day Pull-Up Challenge. Beginning Tuesday, October 14th, we started doing one pull-up on day one and add one each day until we get to 100 pull-ups on the 100th day!
The Rules:
1. Use any grip, jumping or modified, dead hangs, kipping or butterfly pull-ups are acceptable.
2. You can complete each day’s pull-ups all at once, or broken up and done at different times throughout the day.
3. If for some reason you miss a day, you have to make up all the missed pull-ups the following day.
4. If you don’t start the challenge with us today, you can “buy-in” at any time by doing ALL the missed day’s pull-ups on your first day.
5. Any pull-ups you complete during your regular workout can count towards that day’s Challenge pull-ups, if you want them to.
5. Have fun doing pull-ups and getting stronger doing it! (This is modeled after Crossfit Santa Cruz’s 100 day Burpee Challenge.)
Post your progress in the comments along with your daily WOD information so we can keep track.

Comment #44 - Posted by: Chris Manning at October 20, 2008 8:25 PM

Wow...Josh has about 60lbs on the last guy I watched do standard grip muscle-ups.

Comment #45 - Posted by: Jeff at October 20, 2008 8:26 PM

Unbelievable. That is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen, and this site has plenty of really impressive things posted.

Comment #46 - Posted by: mcp at October 20, 2008 8:31 PM

I think it's safe to say my hands are going to be %#&*@$ tomorrow.

Comment #47 - Posted by: Melissa Cvjeticanin at October 20, 2008 8:32 PM

Well nobody's beating that time, case closed.

Comment #48 - Posted by: Adam/ TempleOwl at October 20, 2008 8:33 PM

Josh is 5'9 / 185#
That is a very impressive performance. I think that a good performance in this workout can be one definition of "strong."

Comment #49 - Posted by: Shane S at October 20, 2008 8:34 PM

I called it! Josh Everett is King Kong!

Comment #50 - Posted by: Alfie at October 20, 2008 8:37 PM

Comment #52 - Posted by: steve s. at October 20, 2008 8:43 PM

this is bringing back bad memories of June 8th 2008...

Comment #53 - Posted by: Brendan_P at October 20, 2008 9:00 PM

When I first read about "King Kong", I thought "Hey, that sounds like a workout for Josh Everett!"

Looks like I have a new goal -- survive 'King Kong' in a reasonable amount of time. The 255 clean & jerk should not be too awful, I've popped 245. Likewise 455# on the dead is about 12% more than I've pulled for a set of 3. But closing that gap is going to be hell...

I have this nasty habit of chasing certain people's times (RTC and Josh Everett in particular, since they weigh about the same as me). Now it's really going to get me in trouble!

Much respect to Josh Everett for demolishing it.

Comment #54 - Posted by: Tim T at October 20, 2008 9:00 PM

FRESH!!!!!

Comment #55 - Posted by: Felipe at October 20, 2008 9:01 PM

Note the OVERHAND grip on the DL's in the video. Josh Everett is an absolute monster.

This might be the only CF wod that I CANNOT do. Both the barbell movements are beyond my 1RMs.

Comment #56 - Posted by: Mini T at October 20, 2008 9:05 PM

Wow.

I am guessing Josh stears clear of kryptanite.

Well done dude

Josh is a full rank Beastmaster.

he has what seem to be disproportionately skinny calves for such a monstrosity of a man. maybe from wearing overly supportive shoes?

Comment #71 - Posted by: Genghis at October 20, 2008 9:43 PM

My reaction to the video: Staring guppy-eyed with mandible resting on laptop keyboard. Very impressive, Mr. Everett, very impressive. I'm not sure if I can ROLL 455# across the floor...

Comment #72 - Posted by: Skeletor at October 20, 2008 10:10 PM

As soon as I saw the King Kong WoD, I immediately thought "Josh Everett would kill this."

Of course, King Kong is a wuss compared to Josh Everett.

Comment #73 - Posted by: MaxG at October 20, 2008 10:16 PM

That was amazing to see in person

Comment #74 - Posted by: Todd at October 20, 2008 10:28 PM

My 12 yo daughter watched this with me and said "Josh could deadlift my pony. Probably with me on her." ;-)
All of the "King Kong" videos have been amazing to watch, and this one nearly left us looking as Skeletor described.
Wow.

Yay burpees. really.

Comment #75 - Posted by: Cynthiaj in Sunnyvale, CA at October 20, 2008 10:51 PM

As I told Rudy when he told me I was doing this workout, Josh Evertt will crush it. He is so technically perfect and monstrously strong he is undoubtedly my crossfit "hero" that I would try to emulate.

Josh is an animal. i would definitely like to see more 'heavy' workouts like that. He toyed with those weights. His 255 snatch and 335 C+J warm up are insane too. unbelievable. if you see josh you know crossfit is not just about endurance. the guy is insane strong and it's even more impressive that he weighs only a buck 85. unreal. would be nice to know what his squat and dead maxes are...i am very impressed.

Comment #86 - Posted by: big al at October 21, 2008 1:11 AM

Don't F with Everett!

Comment #87 - Posted by: Ray at October 21, 2008 1:47 AM

I'm going to tackle king kong someday but my back's not ready yet. I deadlifted for the first time in three years during the WOD (081013) the other day. I have two hurniated discs in my lumbar spine, but so far crossfit has actually made it feel better. Anyways, Josh is the man. That was ridiculous. As for the WOD today, I'm looking forward to the burpees. That's one of the exercises that I wouldn't like to see come out of the hopper so I have decided to start loving them. Bring it on!

Comment #88 - Posted by: Chris Mac at October 21, 2008 2:14 AM

#18 - Chris Manning, I hope you like to be overtrained...and please, explain to me why you feel you need to do 30 minutes on the eliptical after all of that?

There's nothing I can say about Josh's effort that would do it justice, so I'll just sit back and enjoy the show.

#18 Chris Manning

I worry about you doing "The Filthy 50" every day along with the WOD. If you do that for 50 days, it's almost assured that you'll reach into the realm of overtraining, which can include injury/sickness.

I'd also argue that 30 minutes on the elliptical is a complete waste of time. You're getting your "cardio" by doing CrossFit, and the elliptical is not biomechanically efficient at all, thus not functional or transferable.

I'm not attacking you in any way, I just don't want to see a fellow CrossFitter get overtrained or not use their time most efficiently (elliptical).
---------

With that being said, I'm taking a cycle and a half off (6 days total) to rest. I've been going hard on the WOD's since the beginning of August and I'm pretty sure my body (and performance) will thank me.

---

Oh, and Everett is a beast. I want to be like him when I grow up.

Oh dear Crossfit, how I've missed you! If I could hug a website I would have my gorilla grip going and even wrap my legs around the hips... might even thow in a humping motion.
Although I still consider myself recovering from the massacre of my mouth, I'm back to working out. I had to do some random crossfit like WOD yesterday though because we haven't had internet in about 4 days. It's been quite upsetting. It's probably caused the ships supply of Prozac to go down, that's for sure.
Oh my burpees! I guess I said I missed Crossfit too soon, ha! I will hit it hard.
So... I hope I'll be able to find this amazing video once I get back from cruise because it sounds like the video of the century.

Someone asked Josh's height - I'd put him at about 5'11, no more (this is from two in person meetings at CF Games). I would like to see Tony Bianbridge do this one, as well. He was top 15 or so at the Games and he has sick deadlift and can do 10 MU's in a row. Don't know if he could beat the fittest man on the planet, but it's right in Tony's wheelhouse.

I think next rest day I'm going to try it. My 1RM is about 460, so ought to be interesting. Josh DL'ed that 455 like it was nothing. Unbelievable. At 185.

Yesterday's, as RX: 6 Rounds

Wow! I've been doing Crossfit for about four months now and today I have really seen the benefits. I was in an auto accident yesterday (rear-ended on the freeway). Nothing major, but I was a little sore around the neck and back. I went to the doctor and everything checked out OK. He said take it easy for about a week. Well, I woke up this morning with no pain! The core training principals of Crossfit have strengthened my worn out body to the point where this was just a bump in the road. Hooked for life. Thanks coach.

Hey guys, got a question about form and execution of a movement. Doing the WOD yesterday, I was having some pain in my right front delt every time I pulled up the bar while doing the sumo dead lift high pulls. No pain at all with the thrusters or cleans. I did some warm ups with just the bar so I don't think it was the weight. Anybody have any thoughts on what I might want to look for?

Comment #161 - Posted by: Dave at October 21, 2008 7:22 AM

This King Kong WOD is sick sick sick. Seriously, this is one of those WODs where I take the PR weight and cit 1/3 of the damn weight off it. I have been doing CrossFit for 10 months and I look at this damn video and just shake my head.....

I watch this video and I wonder if the "fittest man on earth" could do it? I mean, it isn't quite a "1o minute full body work-out" but holy cow, this thing is brutal.

I have a client that can't do those types of movements (gets a pain the front delt area) due to a previous rotator cuff injury. She can't do SDHP, dips or muscle-ups due to pain in that area.

Stop doing anything when you feel that pain and go have it checked out by either an orthapedic or a physical therapist.

Oh my goodness. Does Josh make all his workouts look so easy? I mean, if I didn't know better, I would (almost) assume I could do this myself just from watching him do this so calmly. Wow. just wow.

I guess I'm pretty lucky to not have any problems with the guys in my gym. I don't give them the option to question what I'm doing and the one time someone tried to correct me I just smiled and winked at him and told him to please go away. I've never been asked to leave, even with virtual shoveling and jumping pullups.

Headed to the gym now to get this done, I wanted to start the burpee challenge anyway, guess this is a good time to do it, huh?

I will say this. It is an honor to have Josh do King-Kong. I have not seen many athletic performances like that in my life. We did not think that Matt would have the best time ever - we knew that he would be beat - we simply wanted to record a workout that we had been playing with. We did not, however, expect Matt's time to be bested by five minutes. Unbelievable Josh - absolutely unbelievable.

Tried one burpee and the pain in my lower back was staggering...that convinced me that today is a burpee-free day.

Lower back can not handle kipping pullups either after yesterday's double bodyweight deadlift festivities so today's workout was changed to this:

10 rounds for time:

12 strict no kip, deadhang pullups touching chest (later rounds became a mix of chest and throat touching bar)
12 unanchored situps with 10# plate held in contact with chest

21:59. Slow to get up from the floor....lower back feeling better than yesterday, but still very painful.

FIRST TIME DOING THIS WOD...THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE EASY. I'M SUCH AN IDIOT FOR THINKING A CROSSFIT WOD WAS GOING TO BE EASY.
I WORKED ON MY BUTTERFLY KIP TODAY DURING THE WOD. USED THE BUTTERFLY ON ABOUT 85% OF THE PUs. I'M STILL WORKING ON MY RHYTHM. I CAN GET ABOUT TEN OR SO IN A ROW, BUT THEN ON NUMBER 11 I GET OUT OF RHYTHM. ANY HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

TEN ROUNDS FOR TIME OF:
12 BURPEES
12 PULL-UPS

Third week into crossfit and i already hate burpees. This was tough. Didn't have pull-up bar so i did dips. Workouts are starting to get easier, I did better with the Burpees today than i did last time we had to do them.

Took me about 27 minutes in June...I hated it so much I actually didn't even record my time. Today wasn't as soul-crushingly awful; I think the cooler weather helps.

For counting rounds I wrote 1-10 on a paper towel and tore the number after each round. Basic but it works...I'm in the sandbox right now. Ranger beads are also good.

Thought I had to do 12 rounds. Was very pleasantly surprised to review the web page between sets to discover 10 rounds.

Still... 48:30. Way slower than most of you. Relax #226 - I've got your back. :)

No kips - maybe hurt my time?

But Speal... for 120 burpees and 120 pullups... that's one repetition every 2 seconds without stopping. There's no time for puking in there... and I would most certainly be puking. Speal - what's your secret?

I had to modify this one because of my lower back pain. Any kind of sitting or squatting is quite painful. The initial squat down to the proper position for the burpees gives me a nice sharp pain. Repeating this motion 12 times each round was not going to go well.

Okay,
I have to say I normally don't comment on how how impressed I am with others. But Josh, your level of fitness is inspiring, which is the understatement of the year. From your strength and power, to technique in the most dynamic movements, I am floored by your level of skill, not to mention your athletic and fitness prowess. I feel as if I'm in pretty damn good shape, and I appreciate examples such as yourself to remind me of how much unfulfilled potential there might be. Not saying I'd ever reach your level, however I'm still driven to keep in mind that i can be much, much better thanks to the top examples such as yourself. You remind all of us mere mortals of what is possible if you're willing to become a regular visitor to that dark place.

Sorry if I sound like a doting little girl.

Yesterday at the gym, there was a Navy guy doing GHD sit ups and he complained that they gave him head aches. He wasn't suffering from sinus or inner ear issues and it didn't seem to affect him on Hand stands or Hand stand push ups. I've been hearing this now from several different individuals online but have not had to opportunity to watch their form until yesterday. I watched his form on the GHD and got that "ah ha moment." I noticed he was stressing out his neck both on the way down and while down, and even still while coming up.
Hard to explain this in an email, but here goes....
When I do my GHD's I get to the end and 'relax' my neck and head. What I mean is my head and neck are a part of the 'bow' that you are creating.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07vETHa-trQ&feature=related
Watch Nicole in this video, pay attention to what Coach is saying as well of course, but check out her head and neck. That little 'relaxing of the neck' and then firing those legs to get you up quickly makes all the difference. The guy that was suffering from the head aches said he felt an instant difference and release when I pointed out his head/neck position. Just a thought, I hope that helps!

I would agree that using your rings would be great. With kipping especially, I believe it is harder to get as much pull (and push) on the rings because they move.

Comment #378 - Posted by: TnT in MD at October 21, 2008 2:49 PM

While my wife and I watched that video, my wife kept saying, that guy is HUGE! I was in total agreement. He looked big. Then he said he weighed 185...

What the hell is up with that!?!?
185?!?!?! I weigh 180!

I'm not sure if I should be thinking: "Wow, a guy my size can be strong!"

Or should I be thinking: "Wow, pound for pound, Josh Everett makes me look like a pile of worthlessness..."

I'm going to go with the first thought. I figure it's either that, or a lifetime of depression and low self-esteem.

Tomorrow I return to rugby after 7 years away which have included a broken femur and an ankle operation. Today I attended training, so no Burpee/Pullup thrash for me. However, a great many running drills, lineout lifts and wrestling, so I don't feel too seen off in missing the WOD. Now I just need to rest in preparation for the game.

Wish me luck for tomorrow, when I return to the front row.

Yesterday's workout (I didn't post) 9 rounds. I paced myself a bit and ended up with more rounds that way.

I love this stuff! With wrestling season right around the corner (I'm a coach) I can't wait to inject some of the body weight workouts for conditioning. I have some competitive boys in the room and they are going to kill themselves (not literally, they'll work up to it) to be done first.

At my parents' place and I didn't have any place to do pull-ups, so I subbed 120 double-unders and 120 ball-slams for the pull-ups. Plan on making up the pull-ups tomorrow. Also don't know how long it took me...Got through all except the 7th and 8th set of burpees unbroken.

Last time doing this WOD I was just starting my 6th week of CrossFit and I had lots of room for improvement. Well that is what CrossFit is all about and I am hooked. I posted a time of 44:20 then and Today As Rx'd 29:21. That is improvement.

I alternated todays pull ups each set by doing the first 6 Dead Hang followed by 6 Kipping.

After todays WOD I walked home from the Gym and completed Day number 30 of my Double Under / Burpee Challenge.

Glad the burpees police weren't watching, cuz they got ugly.

Congrats to another CFer, Scott Todnem and his 7th grade boys won the conference cross country meet today.
Hope you still had time for the WOD.

Just wasn't into it tonight. Started around 9:45 in the front yard using a tree branch for PU. Around 35 degrees out! Decided to go for 20 minutes, rounds for time:

7 rounds, 12 burpees, 12 pu + 5 burpees.

Switched to kipping pu during the 3rd, 4th, and 5th rounds.

WOD: Burpees and Pull ups: 29:16 (S_ck)

Wow, I felt like a bag of beat D!cks this morning, useless... I just could not get my act together. I had to rest a lot in-between sets. I managed to not break the pull ups or Burpees into sets but I rested for like 90 seconds between each exercise. I need a rest.

My lady Lysa destroyed my time today by finishing this WOD in 20:40 or something like that. She is totally kicking my @ss on METCON WODs like today's. That's OK, its great to have a lady who is into crossfit like I am, I am a really lucky guy :>)

As RX'd: 24:59:49

It wasn't the burpees, or even doing the PUs, that slowed me down: it was my hands on the PU bar. For the past couple months, every day I've done 100+ pullups I've managed to rip my hands (I'm thinking knurls on the bar plus kipping is the culprit). I don't particularly want to use gloves, but today using athletic tape didn't quite cut it, and needing to retape or readjust the tape before every round of PUs to try to protect my callouses added A LOT of unneccesary time. I'd really appreciate any suggestions as to how you guys avoid ripping callouses, since it's become a nucance and not letting me truly explore my limits in WODs like this. Thanks in advance!

Take care!

Great improvement. I always have the sneaking suspicion that I may have lost count and missed a round, but I'm pretty sure I got 10 in.

Not doing it in 112 degree heat helped a lot. Burpees felt a lot better this time. Could crank them out in 8/4 instead of 3x4 like last time. Pull-ups were good, but would have been faster on a better bar. Bar I was on didn't allow for a very efficient kip.

Sub 20:00 would have been great, but maybe next time!

Catching up. Did "The Chief" yesterday at the request of a student with rounds of 6-5.67-5-4-5. Same amt of work time with similar exercise prescription as the 20 min. from yesterday's WOD. Got today's 10 rounds at 18:55, but must admit gravity's influence on the height of burpees seemed to increase by the 10th round. Coaching sqt cleans today.

CFwuX3 with 3 pu's/5 dips,

Scaled way back to 1 set just to remember how much I hated Burpees at Navy Dive School, then on to subbed "5K" to catch a day up.

Comment #761 - Posted by: Bur at October 24, 2008 2:29 PM

Did this one GI Jane style. Burpee then pullup. Really helped to get the full extension. Totally inspired by Greg A's video. Had twenty minutes, did 5 rds. I was totally smoked out on 3rd. Had to partition into six's then 3 4's. When Greg does 100 in a row... I got a long way to go.

Scaled weight up, and reps down.

5 rounds for time, wearing two 20# weight vests (40# added):
6 Weighted Burpees with an 8" target
6 Weighted Pull-ups

Time: 5:04.

Did this barefooted. I like making these heavier and shorter. They become more intense!

Note: on burpees, after pushup, pull feet in as far as you can to make jump easier.

Time A little over 31 minutes; last time 30:46. Lost some time because someone using cage with pullup bar so had to use dip station bars for the first bunch of sets, so kipping and grip were issues. Also, maybe too many breaks on burpees.
