10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 reps of the triplet:

Deadlift: 1 1/2 body weight
Bench press: body weight
Clean: 3/4 body weight

Set up three bars and storm through for time.

I can't believe this happened today, when I'm 60 miles from a gym with olympic weights and 3000 miles from the friends I lift with. Was looking forward to this for a long time.

spk - You could always try single dumbell cleans, same number on each arm, you would have to drop weight obviously but you would have most of the clean there.

last time I did this I upped the weight on the deadlifts and cleans, and my time suffered for it. This time I use the same weight and dropped 15 min off my time. It's good to see progress. Next time "diane" shows up I will move the weight up.

Main: 16:40, with ~50% of scaling of weights
DL : 55 ; BP : 35 ; CL : 27.5kg (all power cleans from ground). I do not remember when I was sweating so much in my life

No broken sets, but some rest between the first 5 rounds. Note to self : leaving CFWU out to save time is false economy. Some squats and back extensions are essential for a good warmup and to avoid injury when doing deadlifts.

#15 Charles: - You don't have room to CLEAN? Geesh, now THAT is a tight gym!

My gym formally does not allow cleans, c&j and snatch, but since none of the 19 year old staff knows what any of those look like, I've been doing them there for a couple months and have been ok so far.

It is a myth that you can't work the same body part/ exercise two days in a row. It does depend on the volume and intensity you are doing them at though. It also depends on how you feel, if you are sore take a day off, but if you benched heavy yesterday go at a lighter intensity today or use DB's.

Third CF workout ever. Still confined to tiny YMCA gym and no real olympic lift training so had to make some adjustments:

Alternated between DL (135lbs) and BP (135lbs) as Rx'd - I had to steal the only two bars to do this and one guy wanted to 'work in' on the deadlifts. Then I finished up with some 'easy' cleans: 5 sets of 5 with 75lbs. Wish I had a coach - I'm a little worried about doing these wrong so gotta be pretty conservative.

BW: 175 Time: ~30min

I can't wait until my weights/mats are delivered this week!!

Age 43, bw 175 which is just shy of 80kg.
Used 120kg on deadlifts, 80kg on bench and 60kg on cleans.
Time: 23:18, 1:02 faster than last time. First 19 cleans were full squat cleans, the rest more closely resembled a power clean. Racked the bar on 3 different rounds before getting the last rep, otherwise the other 7 rounds were to completion. The deads were unbroken. The cleans broke me.

Missed out on the last three due to timing/driving to visit family. May or may not make up, but I love Linda so we left early enough to get it in before work today. Lots of time on monkey bars, etc. with nieces yesterday + 5ish mile hilly run made me a bit tired today...

Sept. 27: cfwu 2 rounds, then 10-9-8-7-6-5 Deadlift 155, bench 95, clean 75. Took 34 minutes to get to that point, and I was pretty wiped by then.

Puppies: Scale the weight back and drop the sets doing 10-8-6-4-2.
My modifications: Deadlifts using 2x20 lb. dumbbells. Chest presses with 2x20 lb. dumbbells. For cleans I did the upper half of power cleans with a 10lb. bar, working on form.
Time: about 12 minutes.

I got through it without any breaks. Next time I will try the original ladder, and maybe heavier weights.

Much better performance this time than the last time. Bench presses were the hardest, but nothing was ever broken in more than 3 subsets. First half of the workout (rounds 1-5) are always the most demoralizing, but I got through the hump pretty well today.

2 X CFWU (Did more push ups and dips than normal for me. Slight improvement)

This was my first workout after coming back from a week+ holiday layoff. Don't have a bench, so did 2x pushups for each rx'd rep of bench (i.e. 20, 18, 16, etc.). Power cleans were at 135, Deadlift at 175. Bodyweight 210. I only have one bar, so I had to spend a lot of time adding and taking off weight. I ended up doing just the rounds from 10 to 6. Form was not as good as it should have been on cleans.

Dissapointing day for me.
Got to round 7 and tweaked my back on the way down during the last clean.
decided to stop so that I could work out tomorrow- iced it three times today and took ibuprofen- feels good now and think I'll be ready for the pull ups tomorrow- feel like a wussy for stopping though.

Wow, I lost a lot of fitness while in my flirtation with oly lifting. Did Linda using chest-slapping pushups, 185# DL, 115# clean, using one bar. 35.28. Was dying throughout. BW has "ballooned" to 155# from 150# previously. Feel very soft and out of shape. Gotta keep plugging!!
