I was just thinking about some deadlifts, and just in time for the holidays, here they are.
Whoa! Where did you find that wall? That is so cool!
well deadlifts are almost as good as a rest day, actually maybe even better
Come on, guys! Surely we can incorporate some sort of shoulder activity too! :)
1/3 CFWU + 6 x 135 dl's
Compared to 11/22
Very psyched. Went for 305 and did not expect I would do it, was expecting to fail to determine approx. max. Now believe I may be able to do 325. Bwt = 184
CF - Constantly Redefining Your Limits
No time for today's WOD (one of my favorites!); morning overtime and a party after isn't going to allow it. 100 burpees with pushup and jump plus overhead clap: 8:27. Burpees are definitely not my best exercise. Shoulders are whipped.
Did Cindy to catch-up, 30 mins later did today`s WOD
90K-100K-120K(PR)-130K(fail, seeing stars fail)-110K(11/22 fail point)-110K-110K-110K(fail)-100K
Only have 200lbs so I did 7 sets of 10 reps
Finally - a wod I can do well at! Early morning workout today after hitting CrossFitNC and cashed in... GREAT TIME UP THERE - Thank you! If you're in the Raleigh - Fayetteville area, you need to check them out.
225# @ 10 // 310# @ 10 // 405# @ 1 // 405# @ 1
455# @ 1 // 505# @ 1
looks like their soccer goalie is pissed at the wall they have placed on the 6 yard line, hands protecting parts and all
equalled my pr with 145kg. weights felt good for a change.
130, 132.5, 135, 137.5, 140, 142.5, 145
Did the warm-up. Did C&J drills for 45 min.
225, 245, 295, 335, 385, 435, 455 (PR)
not feeling well.
did triples up to 353 instead, grip down from dog bite
...Thanks a lot KELLY... for planting the seed of doubt in my WOD mind...could I actually do 100 burpees.?... well yes,,, BUT not @ KELLY speed but probably more humanesque...in 10:52 ..all jumping, gasping. pushupins, wobbling,,,glad to be finished
Also I just did DB DLs today working my way up to the 80#ers
"Come on, guys! Surely we can incorporate some sort of shoulder activity too! :)"
LOL @ Sandy S!
My shoulders are so completely fried I can barely move them!
Rest day for me. Will enjoy throwing sand and stone around tomorrow.
hard but good. scared some people in my gym.
Okay....you got me bad on "Cindy" and I got you on Friday's WOD...I thought with you being gone the lack of competition with you not being here would slow me down...I see I can't let that happen!! Hope your back is feeling okay cause I feel Greeaaat!!
newbie here, havn't done deadlifts in many years
could have gone heavier but I'll wait and see how my back feels tomorrow
Felt good so cranked out 340#. Wasn't quite the prettiest DL i've ever done, but it went up. Happy with today's work.
Did a couple of cleans and FSes with 135# after, too.
155, 185, 205(old PR), 215, 225, 235, 245
I don't know where this improvement came from. I had a lot of trouble with 195 a couple of weeks ago and my legs felt like crap when I started. 245 didn't even feel very heavy.
cfwu x 1 plus pushups
135 x 5
225 x 3
415 (old pr)
435 (new pr)
it seems the limiting factor for me is the grip, i didn't use and wrist straps, wraps, or a belt
but everything else was good
curious if there are any detroit crossfitters out there?
Peaked at 335
Multiple singles of 315, 325
bw = 165
wore 4 lb weight vest
450 x 1 x 7
Karl (bw @ 70kg)
Rachel (bw @ 68kg)
Team Mosul(Splinter Group)
Matt W: 225/245/275/290/245/245/245
Mike H: 225/245/275/290/245/245/245
305# is a PR for me by 20#. My form was pretty suspect on 305# and even shakier on the second rep w/290. Finished up with some pull ups and sit ups.
All with 255, which is (not coincidentally) all my weight. Hopefully, Santa got my letter.
Ran 5k for warm-up and then deadlifts:
Did yesterdays today -- strict form, squats almost to the ground, 10 rounds plus 5 pullups and 10 pushups.
Without strict form I almost double the rounds on this one. Perhaps it is time to try Mary.
Did today's later on....
started & finished higher than last time, not a lot but enough.
On 245 my wedding band pinched my hand, felt like my ring finger was going to burst off at the top of the lift, have an interesting looking subdermal bruise starting now on the top of the entire finger, this ever happen to anyone else?
Never doing deadlifts w/ring on ever, ever again.
Warmed up with 185# x 10 reps...
WOD 285/305/315/325 PR/330 failed/305/305/305
Cooled down with 185# x 10 reps.
Was happy to get a new PR since the last time this WOD came up I went light to practice form;
I was nursing a strained back muscle from the
Up 10kg from last time
bodyweight is 162...which means my new PR was
2 x bodyweight!!!
Since I don't have the equipment to do lifting, I did the Pilates Accelerated Body Workout. WOW! It is an awesome workout. I could definitely feel my hip flexors, which someone always used to tell me were really important to use regularly. I did listen and I still am...
Not pleased at all with my performance. I used deadlift like a madman in HS. heh.
245# (I really let my hips slide out on this one, so i dropped weight to improve form)
Something felt wicked on my grip. I am used to using a diamond bar to dead lift and all we have here are barbells. *shrug* gives me something to work on.
Definately Happy with today's performance!!!
this is my second day doing the cf workout. yesterday really killed my quads with those squats but today i dl'd 220#-220#-300#-300#-350#-350#...i weigh 190#
I workout at the Y with my two bro's and it starting to convert to a cf gym....it's funny cause you can tell who is doing it...cause they are doing the same stuff!!!
todays workout was a great one. i finshed with 100 situps and 50 dips. i can't wait until tommarow's wod.
Did friday's WOD first, then today's.
225,245,265,275,295,305(pr),305(f) then 295.
BWT: 182 lbs
Form on the 365 was shady. Decided to drop down and concentrate on my form.
My workout buddy Jason turned in a brilliant performance and hammered out a 2x bodyweight deadlift today.
Did friday's WOD first, then today's.
205,255,275,285,290. Maxxed out at 290 and stopped.
Finished with 225 x 20
I could have went heavier I think. Next time
COld's got the better of me today, so form had to take over for strength. Almost died just doing the cfwux3.
225, 245, 265, 285, someone talked to me and took about 20 minutes attempted 305 and it felt like it was bolted to the ground. got 295 pr, 275, 275.
So even with a cold and dragging like crazy my pr increased. Yesterday I even bested my last Cindy with this cold (24). CF continues to astound me every day.
235 new max
135, 155, 175, 195, 205, 215, 225 lbs
Abraham Lincoln Crossfit
Tom (bw 206)
285 at BW of 155. Tried 305 and it was unfortunately glued to the floor. Next time. Followed up with 205x20.
CrossFit Atlanta rocked today! Good camaraderie, fun competition, good times guys!
CrossFit Sarnia (haha, two of us, but we love it)
Jake (BW 230)
Ross (BW 200)
Like Mike_h, today was a make up day. Did Fridays first(:22::10).
(Previous time w/this WOD 205-225-245-265(old pr)-275-295-305new pr)
May of been able to have gone a bit heavier, but am still stoked to set a new PR. Especially after getting my Arsss kicked by the make up workout.
This is the first time I used chalk. Saw an old friend w/a bag. My grip was shot and hit him up for some hoping it would help. Made a world of difference. Can't wait to try it on pull-ups. Reccomend anyone who hasn't tried chalk to go and do so.
Feeling good so went on to Power Clean 185 PR
No weights at home.
285 at a body weight of 155. 15 lbs below last effort,
135, 135, 155, 155, 185, 205, 205, 225, 245.
225, 235, 245, 245, 245, 235, 225
Form fell apart at the end, which is why I lowered the load. I had much better form and ability last time, getting almost 270 before. Kinda disappointed, but my legs were sore today.
Warmup with pullups and dips
225, 245, 265- saw stars (PR), 265, 285 (PR), 305 (PR), 325 (PR, form a bit shaky)
I can't believe I just lifted that. A month ago I wouldn't have been able to come even close. Before my last lift, I looked at the pile of iron on the floor in disbelief. I knew I could do it, I just couldn't *believe* it until I'd done it.
Heavy things are amazing. Lifting heavy things is even more amazing.
I always take my wedding ring off when lifting- heard too many horror stories about missing digits, crushed rings, etc.
Week 3 of a 12week sched.
Fit in perfectly with Crossfit
210 for 10
255 for 10
300 for 10
330 for 8
365 for 6
WU x 3
225 x 8
345 x 1
355 x 1(PR) old PR was 350, actually went up easy and this is where I lost the mental battle. Thought wow that was easy and went for
365 x 1 and failed, laughably, so back down to
345 x 1
345 x 1-failed and I was out of the game. finished with
295 x 1 for 4 singles.
Looking back thinking the WU and 225 x 8 probably wasn't necessary. Just one or the other.
BWT x 175 so I'm psyched about the PR.
115(3), 165, 185, 205, 225, 255 miss, 10 min rest, 165, 185, 205, 225, 235, 245 (PR)
CFWU w/ HS holds.
bar (20 lbs) x 5
70 X 3
120 X 3
140 X 2
160 X 2
180 X 2
200 X 2
Bodyweight 135 lb.
220 is all I could put on the bar. 7 sets
and a long day goofing off on the slackline with my bros.
First time doing this
CFWU x 3 + 10x45lb DL warmup
First time to do this workout.
First time to ever do my body weight in anything.
First time to put 45 lb plates on the bar.
CFWU x 3
warmed up with: up to 40kg snatches and up to 70kg clean & jerks
110kg x 5
120kg x 3
finished with: 1600m row
We did the WOD at Gleason Park, Indian Harbour Beach, FL. (South of Patrick AFB., Space Coast)
Hope others can join us every Sat and Sun at 5:00pm. Get outside!
Heaviest we had for DL's was two 75# DBs.
WOD x 2 with 75#DBs and 2/3rd's of Michael in 23 min.
Sally passed on the DL's and jogged 2.5 mi. instead.
BTW=150. Did these on the non-olyimpic set at home. So, deeper DL's than I'm used to.
Slowly creeping back to 2xBW.
Man do I love deadlifts. Every max-effort day lately has been a PR. I was hella' sore today from a great Parkour session yesterday, and combined with my belly full of Christmas party food I almost opted out of the workout all together. Glad I didn't!
The best part is, that's all the weight I have, so I'll have to remember to make it to the gym for the next ME deadlift day. Now THAT is a good feeling!
Finished up with 100 burpees in 7:53, what a killer!
Oh yeah, and bodyweight is 172#, so I finally got my double-bodyweight! Woo HOOO!
BW @ 155 lbs
205 lbs, 210 lbs, 225 lbs, 215 lbs, 225 lbs, 215 lbs, 215 lbs.
Felt pretty good considering.(post-reconstructive ankle surgery with a hamstring graft, cast on one leg, brace on the other)
Thanks to Crossfit, my physiotherapists are astounded by the speed of my recovery. I tell anyone who will listen about this website.
1 Round CFWU
50lb improvement from last month. Best triplet that I have had since getting serious. Nice timing by Coach and Lauren to have a couple of repeat tests!
had to stop early...pretty happy about the PR. wish i had time to try even more.
and congrats to all the new 2xBWT DLers...i want in on that club.
1/2 mile run, on 1.5 incline Treadmill,
135# x 5 to warm up then :
225,245,265,295,295,305(Old PR),315 ( New PR, yeeeaah.)
Felt like I could go up and I will next time.
355 (PR kind of, have not pulled this much since I was in my 20's) form was not great on this set, but back feels OK
Form was great until the last 2. took a lesson from Jon at Rocky Mt Crossfit and it definitely helped. I had never done Deadlifts until crossfit.
Oh, PR is up 25# since last time
CFwu/Burgener wu, then:
225,275,295,345 PR, 295,315,315 then 225 x 3, 225 x 4.
DL, one-rep x 7
185, 205(pr), 215(pr), 225(pr), 225, 225, 225.
A bit slow to DLs, but starting to come around :)
155 7 reps
its all the weight I had at home!
135, 225, 275, 315, 335, 2 fails at 345-one very close.
team tikrit (away team)
mfbunch: 135, 185, 225, 275, 285, 285, 295
no pr this time but form was good on all, was surprised how easy pulling 285 was after having such trouble with it last time!
warmed up with squat, overhead squat, deadlift practice (10 reps of each with oly bar)
(last time max. was 425)
Warmup and finished on rings, all sets d/l 225.
First Time doing deadlifts
Weights in KG
Team Tikrit (Home Team)
CFWU x 2
WOD: 225, 245, 255, 265, 275, 285, 295(pr)
Form was good on all except for last. Hand grip was hurting me more than lifting. I couldn't keep hold of the damn bar. Almost dropped 295 but managed to hold on with fingertips until back and legs were extended and straight...then let go!
Finished by running sprints up and down basketball court and then looked for somewhere to hang my NEW RINGS FROM!!!!!
Only have 225lbs so did that. But it was a good weight to get back into the swing of things. Also did 4x5 janda situps, and 1x3 one arm pushups.
Ran 5 miles then had no time to deadlift. I had to coach my daughter's basketball team. I was so proud of her, after a visit from Pukie in the morning and a twisted foot from friday, she insisted on playing anyway. She helped her team win, scoring the winning basket in overtime... she's 11.
BW: 165 lbs
225, 315, 365, 405, 405, 485, 365
315, 405, 455, 495, 515, 545, 545
All weights in pounds.
330 is all the weight I got. The first rep at 330 was a little sloppy because of my grip. For the second rep at 330 I used the hook grip, my right thumb was uncomfortable but not unbearably so. The second lift was a lot cleaner. I'm going to try to do all deadlifts with the hook grip from now on.
Body weight about 68 KG
2 wu sets 5x60, 3x80
cool down 5 x60
All weights in pounds.
- A little extra -
Hang Cleans: 115/3, 115/3, 125/3, 135/3, 135/3

Weighted Sit ups: 45lbs/10 x 3
Body weight = 168 lbs
Body weight = 195lb

Meyer new Pr 225-275-295-305-315-315-315
1st try at 315 with sumo grip then reg.
Jeff 135 all 7; Dustin 205 all 7; Ben 135 all 7
Kastner-145 all 7
(used straps to keep fingers fresh for indoor climbing tonight..doing 4*4s).
+10lbs from last time.
loosened up with 5x 185#, 3x 225#
335 pr solid pull
355 not, didn't budge
355 tried again, not again
335 not, broke the ground, but no more
315 solid pull
335 not, broke ground unevenly, right side weak
Overall, happy with new pr. Next time I will increase in smaller increment at the top, and I will get 355 for 2x BW(175)
Did 7 triples...218/238/258/308/328/348(form slacked)/328
100kg, 110; 112.5; 115; 117.5 (PR); 120 (PR); 122.5 (PR).
125/135/140/145 - PR but pulled something in back on 4th one. Stopped there.
finished with 4 rounds: .25 mile run, 25 sq, 25 situps in 9:47
cycling and climbing and some light core work this morning.
CFWU x 3
Pullups and Pushups to failure.
Deadlifts = 275-285-305-315-325-315-305 (compare with 275-285-295-305-310-315-315 on 051122) coming off a cold
60-65-70-73-75-77-80 kilos (176 pounds). Feel pretty good about that. Surprised at lifting more than my weight now! Gotta love Cross Fit!
Have not been doing deadlifts, so easing into it; 135, 145, 155, 165, 175, 185; began to feel like work, so wrapped up with 135. Knees a little creaky at first, so warm-up is a good idea. Lots of headroom here, but wary of injury potential.
performed on the 19th of Dec.
315, 335, 355, 375(PR!), 380 (PR!!!!), 385(couldn't even get this off the ground), 315
Felt pretty good! woohoo
BW = 192 (I think)
Loads - 215, 225, 230, 235, 240, 245, 265, 285
1/2 mile warm up run.
135-15 cool down
I'm a day behind. This is a great workout. The back will feel it tomorrow though.
Lake Dillon Fire Rescue A-Team
Resident FF Nick: 275-295-315-335-345-365-365
Resident FF Scully: 185-205-225-235-245-245-250
FF McGinnis: 225-245-265-275-285-295-305(pr)
315 as rx'd 7 sets w/ big D. Ow my back!
Had some serious fatigue in the legs today and some tiredness in the lower back, so I took it easy. Topped out at 275# then scaled back to 225# as it became clear that the lower back wouldn't handle shooting for a PR (which I think is still 310#).
Did this the following (rest) day:
205,205,205,225,235,245,255 and 255
Just back from USAW clinic with Coach B in Vista. WOD was clearing the 12" of snow from the driveway. Nice reminder that being home at 6200' after 4 days at sea level is just that!
Slacking on posting but did this on the 17th.
Added 25# since 11/22. BW 203, I'm almost there.
CFWu with squats
Lost my grip on 365... couldn't get it back.
Mile warm up run.
135, 225, 275,315, 345, 315,315.
Felt a little heavy. Could have done some more weight but didn't want to push it to hard with the first Deadlift workout in a looong time.
2 mile cooldown run.
Started too light so did extra reps.
All done with DBs (no barbells at my gym...), numbers posted are totals for both DBs.
24kg, 28kg, 32kg, 40kg, 48kg, 52kg, 60kg (PR)
Did some reps on the Smith with up to 60kg to see how it compares to using a bar... it sucks! Back to the dumbbells.
12 18 05
did 225 all reps back was not feeling good.
Did wonderful on this workout, at a BW of 208lbs.
135, 225, 275, 315, 365(PR), 405(Bombed), 385(PR), 385( Bombed).
IT was great I felt wonderful, now if i could only get past doing only 10 pullups.
205 to 265lb reps 1-6
attempt 275lb for rep 7 but grip started to fail right before full extension
previous best was 255lb
225 x 6 (warmup)
315 x 3 (warmup)
385 x 1
455 x 1
475 x 1
435 x 1 x 4 sets
DL: 315, 325, 335, 345, 315, 315
Form started to get sloppy with the 345, though I felt I had more in me. Fun workout!
Worked up to a PR: 265 then F: 275. Form was pretty good, used an alternating grip for the PR. The goal is to someday join the 2x-BW club (340lbs).
then worked on kipping and elbows to knees.
Deadlift, weight in lbs.
5x135/5x185/5x205/3x235/2x285(bad form on first; yikes!)/1x285(better)/1x285
didn't let myself increase weight after bad form--shot up hips and rounded back to get it up on that one.
BWt = 156
1RM feels down and weight in up--no longer 2xBWt.
Done as 2nd WOD on 12-22 in PM after am Jackie.
Happy with PR. Finished with 500m sprint row. 1:31.7 damper on 10. Legs died, had sub 1:30 in my sights.
Addendum: BW today 232, progressing slowly toward goal 2x BW DL.
ML - BW=225 - 315/335/355/375/385/405/425(fail)/405x3
VL - BW=220 - 315/335/355/375/365 Stop (Back Pain)
