200 squats?! Looking forward to it.
Great I was wondering when this workout would service. My knees are already screaming from the past two workouts. Oh well time to suck it up and press on tomorrow afternoon.
My 40# D-Ball is on its way right now; that should make slam ball lots of fun
Expect a court summons for "damages for physical pain and suffering" tomorrow a.m.
First to post a time!! (The good news is that this time, my guess is that kelly m. won't be able to post right behind me because her toe is broken and she can't run.) Just kidding, km.
14:18.5
I didn't puke, but I was able to taste this morning's biscuit on the 3rd run. Yummy. Running 6 x 400m yesterday after the deadlifts was not the correct call.
I assume that the squats are supposed to be accomplished with bodyweight only?
Squats are bodyweight only. Unless you really love the pain, then I guess you could wear a weight vest.
Black socks with tennis shoes and shorts...
Hot.
-D.
Deadlift
225x1,315x1, 335x1 (felt funny so I backed down), 225, 225,225,225
Not a great day for deadlifting. Going to skimp on the WOD's with running for now until the arch of my foot stops hurting (since the 5K last week).
WOD 12:27 as Rx'ed
IPOD rocking out to Mad Sin.
Great workout coach!
Might do Murph tomorrow.
Well, well... no WODs for me in two or three weeks; I managed to broke my rib yesterday while doing pull ups. The thing is, my muscles are TOO STRONG! :-o ...can´t blame CF´s not working. ;-)
Oh well, I´ll be back, see you all!
Does anyone know the WOD; Fight Gone Bad. Heard it was a good one. Thanks Ron
Yes...what Johnny lacks in fashion sense he makes up for in coaching abilities. He was just retained by CSU Chico's Men's Soccer team as their strength and conditioning coach! Congrats John!
Man...I'm going to miss this one and I'm not sure if I'm glad or not. Heh heh heh.
Can anyone help me?
My legs and core are plenty strong however the weak point in my deadlift is my grip. I max out at 275-300 because my fingers begin to uncurl.
Thanks

Team Ruthless CF VA
As RX'd full ROM on squats
time-11:20
All i can remember from fight gone bad is the PAIN!
4 rounds of:
Run 400m
50 squats
Time as Rx-ed 9:50.2
All runs at 11.5 mph (treadmill)
All squat sets unbroken (11" box)
Then some weighted sit-ups with a 20 then 30 kg bar. I like these.
Next up some EDT training with pull-ups and ring dips.
Cheers, kempie
AAAHHH!!! This morning I had the choice of WOD as rx'd or doing our Ruthless WOD. Let's just say, now 2.5 hours after I got smoked by the latter WOD I still can't move!
Ruthless WOD for time as follows:
800M run
100 Pull ups
800M run
200 Push ups
800M run
300 bw squats
800M run
My time: 49:20 sucked but I'm just glad I finished all the running and reps!
Talk about smoking you...I was on fire!
Thanks JeffT, my shoulders were hurting on my pulls ups after the VICC class last night. All this better help me for that FGB challenge on December 2nd! you look so nice and sweet but you are not fooling me anymore! Ha, ha, ha, you had me cursing you this morning. You know I was hurting when Dino starts looking liek the good guy in Team Ruthless.
CrossFit Virginia
Team Ruthless
WOD 10:20
Broke up squats on 3rd and 4th sets. Good workout!
Doing crossfit in lynchburg, va on my own.
Completed two rounds as Rx'd. Legs suitably messed up ;) Will try to get at least three rounds next time this comes up.
Does anyone out there have standards relating to how much weight someone should be able to lift as a percentage of their bodyweight for all of the major lifts? Also standards for how many reps you should be able to perform for the major calasthentic (sp?) excercises?
Thanks.
due to an injury I can't run or lunge but can squat. What would be the best sub for the 400m run that will really push it for me?
Lino,
A gripping technique that helped me a lot was using one underhand and one overhand grip. If you are already doing this, I have no advice.
WOD 11:27. My partner was flying through this. He pulled me along.
Hi all,
Workout as follows
Lisa Bicycle ride on the AirDyne
4:00 warm-up, interval work {:30 hard, level 5 or above); 1:00 slow (level 2)}x10, and 3:00 cool down. Distance almost 4 miles.
Jon Bicycle ride on the AirDyne
{one mile warm-up, interval work (1/4 mile hardand 1/4 mile slow)x8, and 1/2 mile cool down.
Duration 17:10. Distance 5 1/2. *pedal revolutions=~45/ 1/4 mile (~990 for the workout).
Until tomorrow...
Trevor, depending on your injury maybe rowing (500m per 400m run) or biking (hard and fast for as long as a 400m run would take) would fit the bill. You could also try skipping (with a rope) or burpees if you really want to mess yourself up. Short version, pick something and blast it hard and fast for say 90 seconds, squat and then go again.
Cheers, kempie
13:20
running done on treadmill
wow havnt posted in a while, todays work out was good, not as fast as i would like it to be, but i can feel the endurance getting better
20:40
10:54 as rx'd (1:06 faster than last time)
Runs on treadmill @ 10 mph, 1 deg incline.
Missed my opportunity to post yesterday's results so: 135, 225, 315, 365, 385, 405-failed, 315x2. Good news was that thanks to Sage's impecable example, I was finally able to get my form halfway decent. Thanks Sage!
today: 11:01, not too happy about that last second...
Ran a little more than 400 meters. 19:42, intervals with running are tough! But I am improving though.
Meyer 13:50
Jeff 19:00 ; Webb 14:52 ; Godfrey 14:55
Kastner 15:50 ; Sam 16:57
Dustin 14:58
Lino, while your hand is on the bar, wrap your thumb over your fingers, and to increase grip, I walk carrying 2 heavy dumbells until hands fatigue, and hang on the pullup bar until hands fatigue, you can increase your weight by placing a dumbell between your feet.
Mark Madonna
14:03 first time putting a time to this one.
Great job Katie Jo... and Brent.
13:55.
Squats unbroken. This clydesdale is honestly trying to run faster.
"Ironman" competition at work today:
Mod'ed APFT as follows:
2 min Push Ups: 95
2 Minutes Sit Ups: 96
5 mile run (I think the course may have been a little short though): 31:43
Max dead hang pull ups, palm facing body: 15
Max bar dips: 32
More than 10 minutes rest between exercises, so Crossfit advantage didn;t come into play. Won't know official ranking till Monday, but I think I was mid-pack overall, 3rd place on the run.
A little dissapointed in my performance on pull ups and dips. Hard to establish a good rythm since I've been training kipping and ring dips. I think I'll start doing L-Pull Ups during the CFWU and save the kipping for the WODs. Chris
11:45 Great cardio/endurance workout for firefighting. Now on to some strengh building and flexibility increasing.
Keepin' it real.
Oceanside, CA
Lino, check your email for grip response.
Alex
14:17
Runs on treadmill, full hip extension on all squats...nice burn.
Oh yeh, I got me some of this workout. Our Track at Travis is 600m but did as RX with a 10lb vest. Was gonna go with 20 pounds but I don't want to reach the penicle of physcial pefection to quick(yeh right). I tried to do a 3mi run after but I got tired of having to crawl on my elbows to pick up my legs. So I did some abs on the ab mat and called in for the medavac.
DJ, when your in Sac you might have to push me in a wheel chair. Great workout keep'em coming.
13:25.47-run on treadmill. Only a few seconds faster than last time, but I am unsure that I actually did the workout as prescribed last time. I know I did it to the full rx today.
Afterwards, held my first true l-sit on the ground for 10 seconds.
:16::06, substituted 500m row for 400m run. Hadn't used the erg in a while, so why not. I had to adjust the last few days, and haven't posted or visited the message board. It was crunch time... yesterday was my private pilot check ride. I passed. Next step, instrument rating. Wanted to thank all of you, fellow crossfitters, for keeping my motivation high.
15:15, sucked on last squat set.
WOD-9:18, but I only ran 400 yards. I did a circle around a soccer track at a local park near my house. I warmed up with a 1/2 mile bike sprint to the park then did some jumping jacks and a few plyos.
12:28, treadmill set @ 1% incline, full ROM on squats.
Trevor,
for run subs, I like to do heavy bag rounds usually 2 minutes or 90 seconds for a 400m run. I have also done kettlebell/dumbell swings (1 swing for every 10 m - so 40 reps for this wod).
As Rx'd
12:47
Mamma Kooos
13:46
Subbed 1:50 of jump rope (180 rpm) for 400m run.
Ray
5 rounds (RTFQ)
35:36
Livestrong!
10 minutes flat.
Full ROM squats.
Ruthless WOD looks sweet. I may do that today, rest tomorrow (Turkey Day) and max deadlift on Friday.
Thanks for posting it Erika.
As Rx'd - 14:13
was hoping for a sub 14:00 time ... next time!
CrossFit London Seminar tomoz, think i'll give it a rest today. See all you UKers tomorrow!
Don't usually get to post here because I'm so far behind. Did this with the Kim's morning crew at Brand X.
13:35
3 mile warm up run in the morning...
4 rounds of 400m sprint w/ 50 sit ups.
13mins even
Made a date with Linda.
Deadlift - 180 pounds
Bench Press - 120 pounds
Clean - 90 pounds
These weights are about 70% of the prescribed weight for me. Actual bodyweight is 170ish.
19:00
Time to move the weight up on this work out. 210, 140, 105 next time.
Treadmill 1/4 mile(s)
50 squats
Time: 10:04
This was a good one to get under your belt.I am a decent runner but the 4th 400m was with a stride length of about 6 inches!12.47
Friggan cold outside.
4*400/50 squats
11:30
My legs were still very sore (and squat performance sucked) from the deadlifts yesterday. I can normally manage all the squats in this workout unbroken, all sets were broken today... could've potientally shaved at least 1:00 off of this with fresh legs.
14:09 while wearing 30lb body armour
followed but 50 pull-ups/dips wearing body armour
and of course abs
Damn, that sucked...20:05
Four rounds for time of:
**C2 500m row (1:49/1:50/1:51/1:51)
50 Squats (with transition from C2 all b/w 1:30 & 1:55)
TOTAL TIME=14:51
Last time I ran the 400m (TOTAL TIME=12:21) so no direct comparison to this one...
12:02 - rowing and squats to a 6" block. Amazing, but I actually run faster than I row....
Whoops! I lied. There's bodyweight stuff on that list too.
9:57 as rxd, treadmill was on 12 mph the whole time, bw squats full rom. I nearly fell down the stairs after this one. pukie poked his head in a little, cheers, mike
11:01 as rx'd
a 41 second improvement
16:39 - time got slower but hip ROM on squats is now full a-to-a. Ran on a treadmill that only went up to 10 mph unfortunately. Not that it would've mattered after the second set of squats.
quick question just started doing crossfit and it is amazingly insane but do you do the crossfit warmup everyday or can it be modified
20:36min
ran on the treadmill
13:04
Could have pushed it out a little more. Run stated to fall away about 1/2 throught second run. Legs were burning pretty good at end of second set.
Didn't record the time, as this was my first CrossFit workout but I imagine it would have been terrible. I am so out of shape I was proud that I didn't walk on any of the runs.
Wow that was a tiring workout.
12:32 with an 18 degree windchill
14:04 as Rx'd. Treadmill runs, 1% incline.
CFWU X3(+Ball push-ups +50/4count flutterkicks per round)
WOD :09::58
Another example of "It looks like an easy day". The sqts smoked me. It droped my run time big time.
C, Way to get some w/the vest. As far Sac, I'll just roll you in to the back of my truck and we're off. Talk to you later.
Cates, way to throw up big numbers again. Hopefully your shins aren't as scraped up as mine.
found a buddy, didn't time it today, did a lot of walking in circles after runs the runs, believe it or not its getting very cold in Iraq.
question, do you kip for all pull ups, or do you max on normal pull ups and then proceed to kip, i couldn't see my self in the USMC gym doing kipping pull with out much ridicule.
Executed the WoD in 22:00.
-No breaks in sets.
-Additional work on cleans - PR at 130lbs.
-Additional GTG of assisted HSPU sets.
-Abmat situps.
Last time, (First ever WoD) 12:32. This time 11:26. There's still time in there to take off.

28 min. 18 sec
13:15 as rx'd running on a track
even busted out a few muscle ups afterwords for kicks
23:23 for 5 1/4 miles and 50 sets of bw squats vs 31:06 for .6 miles x 4 with 50 bw squats each round on 6/11/05. 10 min elliptical warm up 13/13.
Olad Squats
345 for 5
370 for 3
395 for 2 sets of 2
This was was a mistake. After doing heavy deadlifts yesterday, trying to squat anything remotely resembling a heavy weight was an exercise in futility. I have a lot to learn.
Got them done, but they were poor.
Crossfit Max effort
Weighted Pull-ups
10 singles with 65lbs
varying grips
Steveo
14:51
Felt awful today. Still coughing from being sick, and my lungs were on fire. Squats were to parallel.
16:04
at least i can say as Rx today. that's about the only "good" thing i can say...well, that and pukie never actually caught me, though he was always close.
15:10
-10 seconds from last time.

some pain on the right side from running
Lino,
if you don't have a kettlebell, get one. my grip has improved a lot by juggling my 35 lb kb
WOD
11:37
30 secs off my best, however 40 min after a bowl of chili (what was I thinking)not bad.

R2: 3:14, 1:53; total: 5:07
R3: 3:14, 1:55; total: 5:09
R4: 3:05, 1:29; total: 4:34
R1: squats unbroken
R2: squats 20-8-10-12
R3: squats 20-20-10
R4: squats 25-25
Well, that sucked something fierce. i thought i could do this in 16 mins, and hoped for 12. Having looked at everyone's times, this was some pretty sad performance to say the least.
The only (pitiful) excuse i have was that the treadmill was on a bit of a grade and was harder than road running. At least that's the story i'm sticking to.
Pukie was chasing me almost from the get go. Wish he had caught up to me, though, because i felt like a right bag of ass for the next 30 minutes.
Oh well, had a good day yesterday, so it's only right that i have a bad day to keep me humble and working hard. :-D
13:41 a lot slower but good below-parallel squats.
16:14
on the gerbil wheel. Like everything else, slower than the last one.
O-course - 6:50(not bad but not great)
cfwu X 2
WOD w/ .3 mile runs and squats to Dball
15:52 - really pussed it up today.
Steveo,
I'm shaking my head at what you do.
Dan,
Nice work.
Lenny,
Find FGB. Love it.
Me,
Heavy (for me) DL's then only time for 2 rounds of this one.
8:54.
Damn. I was on my way to sub 20. Last time was well over 20. Squats are improving everyday.
4 days off starting . . .now.
Poker!!
Group Moffett:
Adrian total time: 13:53:78
Sanchez total time: 15:47:79
Lockett total time: 17:55:09
Sanchez and Lockett great job on completing the WOD in less than 20 minutes. Vast improvement since the first time, which was 30 min.
underestimated this one.....as i always do.
as rx'd, 9:44
Happyturkey day to all the boys overseas.
-Wood
Did a variation at Brand X (Pack workout)
3 rounds for time:
Run 800M
50 Squats
(Big Dogs did Weighted Front squats)
My time: 26:05
I could only do this one in 16:00. I need some help with breathing. Does any one have suggestions on how to be a good CF'er, and control your asthma. I would like to post better times than this.
this time 12.46 with hills. last time was on the beach in 10.40
oh well
12:25 on road
wu=stairclimb with one peak
end with 15 min at level 8 on stairclimb, yoga routine, 2 min on handstands

finished with 21 thrusters @ 95lb
Times for the evening Carport crew up in Washington, getting some on Thanksgiving eve. As RXed, on hilly residential roads:
Vinay 13:39
Brian M. 13:59
John M. 15:03
James D. 16:33
Followed by max 65-lb. push presses in one minute and max pull-ups in one minute.
Unfortunately, I didn't write down the times for the 6 a.m. group (though Ms. Lise was clearly the overall smoker on this one). Um, I must've been hypoxic or something.
I subbed 18 burpies for each 400 meter run.
This is the first time I've done high reps of free squats.
My times were 4:45
4:50
4:43
5:31
My legs are twitching as I type this.

13:59 - squats slow but all below parrallel
run on treadmill, no grade, start at 8.5 mph but kept bumping up to finish at 10
I had to do this WOD today because it was too dark last night when I got back from work. I have not done Crossfit since 9/10, but that's what second, third, and fourth chances are for. It was tough to get through it today without the usual support person I would normally do Crossfit with, but hopefully he will be back. I completed this WOD in 26 minutes. I could have done a lot better, but it's a start.
crossfit tikrit:
mfbunch: rounds: 2:29, 2:47, 2:46, 2:33, total 10:37
joeyd: 11:15, didn't record splits
could barely walk at the end of this one
Day late, but got 14:26, 35s better than last time.
I enjoy this one, but it always hurts so incredibly much.
I also did this a day late as yesterday was my rest day. Been attmpting to follow WoD for about 4 weeks and finally able to do one almost to form. Guessed at the distance using 1/4 mile blocks on country roads. Know the distance was at least 1/4 mile.
13:50 Walked on the last two quarters but the squats were all below parallel and unbroken sets.
Did this one a day late as well, as unit PT was dangerously close to Crossfit.....
-run 5k
-Team runs ("you're only as fast as the slowest man) up "seven steps," a hill with seven inclines of varying length and grade
-30 pushups
-60 flutter kicks
-20 pushups
-30 lunges
-10 pushups
WOD in 18:48 on the beach, paced out two 400m sections then went out and back. Had some fun meeting people - "Excuse me, do you plan on being right here for around 20 minutes? I'd like to use you as a distance marker...."
Al Asad, two thoughts from a fellow Marine who did Crossfit in Al Qaim a couple of months ago:
1) You're grinding it out, keep getting some and don't worry about the guys making comments in between sets of preacher curls.
2) If the laughter gets too loud, introduce them to "Murph" and politely say "When your 95th through 100th pullup are done in perfect dead-hang form, THEN laugh at the kipping." The kipping pullup, despite not being allowed for the PFT, will help your score tremendously, as it continues to work the essential muscles long after your "perfect dead hang form" has departed. If you're knocking out 50 or more kipping pullups in a WOD, 20 dead-hangs will cease to be such a daunting number come PFT time.
Semper Fi,
Brian
Time about 14 minutes. Might have been a little more than 400m - did 1 and a quarter times around a soccer field (and an extra half lap at the end). Squats unbroken. Legs jelly-like.
4 rounds of 440m & 50 squats...12:23
ouch...sucking wind and dizzy from this one.
14:01 on a treadmill. 25 seconds slower than last time, but this might have been a function of doing this in the AM. I'm not a morning exerciser.
Hello to all. I am new to this site and I am very pleased with it. My friend said it is a true workout, and i think this is true after doing this workout. For this WO i got a 14:21, our PT does something like this, but this WO is quick and smokes you fast!!! Send any good info my way hope all had a good T-Day...
Paul
Started with a 3:50 Diane.
Then 1:45 heavy bag + 50 squats x 4 rounds
13:18.
All squats broken.
13:27 - 400's 1% treadmill and squats.
Slower that last by a lot - mind not willing for as much pain today I think.
17:51
but did 5 rounds
as rx'd would have been approx 13 min
29:42 600-800m 50x4 squats
This one smoked me good. 34 degree temperature and varying distances severely affected my time, if my lungs weren't burning, my quads were.
WOD as Rx'd 20:30. Broke up s
WOD as Rx'd 20:30. Broke up squats on 2-4. Ran outdoors, slight uphill grade and back.

Sure wish I could find my motivation.
as Rx'd: 20:55 (4:18, 5:13, 5:50, 5:34)
BW 232. Need to run more. On treadmill. First time using the treadmill at my apt gym. Not bad, they stay on, and they have a 400m/lap counter with a little digital picute of the track so you can stare at it and pretend you're outside running 400's. 400's done at 7:30 pace for all four. First time doing higher volume squats. All squat sets broken(15-20-15, 20-15-15, 15-15-20, 10-10-15-15)
Finished with fairly easy 35 minutes on bike to loosen up legs.

Talissa: 13:39 as rx'd (last time 15min)
Just under 27:00 as RX'd
Forgot to stop timer. The apple I had right before I started was a big mistake.
Reporting in late...12.54 as RX'd
My first WOD, reporting late
20:00 as RX'd, on treadmill, after the official warmup.
Haven't run in a long long time (been concentrated on cycling for low impact strengthening after injury), but short distance seemed fine.
Just caught up on this one tonight. Its cold outside about 30F and windy. My lungs felt tight and runs were slow. Squats not bad. Time 18:30
