I'd love to be able to do Mary, but I think she's a little out of my league.

Comment #2 - Posted by: Brandon at August 9, 2005 9:16 PM

Nice... I had been waiting for this. I run 3 days behind the WOD, but this is beautiful timing, Coach.

Comment #3 - Posted by: Eric '07 at August 9, 2005 9:32 PM

So much for the new calluses.

-D.

Comment #4 - Posted by: Dan Silver at August 9, 2005 10:29 PM

A 3 round improvement compared to last time (which was my first date with Cindy).

13 Rounds + 5 Pullups+ 5 Pushups.

Brandon, I feel the same way. But I think a proper time to start looking at Mary is when one is able to do 20 rounds with Cindy first. That would be the time to start dating 'Mutant Mary' ;-)

That's just my 0,02$ worth.

Comment #5 - Posted by: David at August 10, 2005 12:37 AM

My first time with Cindy: 15 rounds, more or less (the last few squats were completed after the buzzer)

The last 5 rounds or so of pullups were badly broken. This doesn't affect the score, right?

Comment #6 - Posted by: NickT at August 10, 2005 12:44 AM

NickT it doesn't matter how you get 'em - just keep plugging away till your time is up. Nice job first time up!

Cheers, kempie

12 rounds of cindy
needed some assistance on the last couple of rounds of pullups. good workout though

Comment #16 - Posted by: Jeremiah at August 10, 2005 4:53 AM

Mary = 8 rounds + 5 HSPUs + 2 pistols.

HSPUs done full range off 12" stools, head to floor each rep. New PR here - managed to get the first four rounds without a break. One or two breaks the other four rounds. These are tough.

Pistols not alternated every other rep; done 5 right, 5 left. As usual the right side was strong, the left a struggle.

No breaks on pullups and callouses not tearing with the help of tape.

Comment #17 - Posted by: kelly moore at August 10, 2005 5:17 AM

14 + 5 pull-ups + 10 push-ups + 10 squats

lots of jumping pull-ups and negatives

Comment #18 - Posted by: EMelton at August 10, 2005 5:30 AM

That was Cindy, by the way.

Comment #19 - Posted by: EMelton at August 10, 2005 5:38 AM

15 rounds of Cindy. Jumping pullups after the 7th round.

It's time to systematically attack my weakness with pullups.

Comment #20 - Posted by: Ted Zink at August 10, 2005 5:47 AM

First date with Mary

Completed 10 rounds for sure. I have 11 on my sheet, but I think it might be a mistake or it may not!?! I also got an extra 5 Handstand push-ups.

Handstand push-ups done on floor with toes on wall and hands at 2 1/2 feet from wall.

Average HR somewhere around 157.

Felt I could have gone harder. I am looking for 12 to 13 rounds next time Mary comes around.

Monique sat this one out because of knee pain during one legged squats.

Comment #21 - Posted by: dandoironi at August 10, 2005 6:14 AM

15+5 PU for Cindy (new PR by one full round). Pull-ups and squats were unbroken.

Comment #27 - Posted by: JackM at August 10, 2005 6:55 AM

I've got an injury to my forearm preventing me from doing any pushing or pulling. So Cindy was out.

Run 5k: 24:15

Realized after I started that I should have done 5 rounds (run 400m, 50 squats) to get a closer response to that of Cindy. Oh well.

Comment #28 - Posted by: Chris Forbis at August 10, 2005 6:55 AM

19 rounds and 5 pu's last time;

This time 21 rounds and 5 pu's. Just cannot believe how quickly good things are happening!!

First WOD since coming back frmo 2 week vacation....ugh....I felt awful.

12 rounds and 5 pullups of Cindy.

Good thing is I did the WOD as RX'd, with focus on form (which probably let to my slow pace), and did the full crossfit warmup too.

Good to be back!

Comment #32 - Posted by: tedw at August 10, 2005 7:13 AM

Cindy

22 rounds plus 5 pulls (pr by 2) - sets started every :50 (with one short rest...)

Comment #33 - Posted by: Steve HB at August 10, 2005 7:21 AM

Cindy: 23 rds + 5 pull + 5 push
(last time w/Cindy was 21 rounds + 5 pulls + 6 push-ups)

17 rds on the 0:45
6 rds on the ~1:00
5+5 in the remaining time

Push-up limited, as usual.

By the way, it was great to run into a fellow CrossFitter at Camp Pendleton this morning. Good luck with Cindy this afternoon.

Comment #38 - Posted by: JACK at August 10, 2005 8:26 AM

I have a question regarding the Crossfit warm-up.

When I read it there is no mention of reps, intensity or weight. For example, it simply says "sit-up" - no "s". So am I to do only one sit up? Seems rather odd to me.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Comment #39 - Posted by: Jason at August 10, 2005 8:30 AM

Waited a couple hours after Mary to work on clubbell mills. 6 minutes of 15# mills - 90 right, 85 left.

Rested 10 minutes and decided to do Cindy after taping my hands: 30 rounds plus 5 pullups and 10 pushups. I've been wanting make 30 rounds on this benchmark for a long time - I finally made it!

Comment #40 - Posted by: kelly moore at August 10, 2005 8:34 AM

First date with Cindy, thought she'd be easy. Was I wrong ( as usual)!!!!.

17 sets with 4 sec remaining.

Thought the squats would be easy, but after reading the squat link posted the other day I did them all the way until my calves touched my hamstrings. Hardest part of this one.

Comment #41 - Posted by: Jim at August 10, 2005 8:40 AM

Philly rules! I can't wait to meet some Crossfit Philly Pholks

Warmup: 1000 meter row and 400 meter run
Cindy: 14 rounds (1st date)

Comment #42 - Posted by: jeff at August 10, 2005 8:51 AM

Warmed up with a 25 situps, a 50 meter sprint, some monkey bar shenanigans and about a half mile jog.

First time with Cindy. Final score: 12 rounds + 5 PUs (completed the PUs right at 19:55). Finished the 13th set at 21:15. All reps unbroken. Gonna have to work on my hustle after seeing all the other scores.

Last time, I danced with Mary. I'll return to her the next go round and compare my old score.

Finished up with 3 sets of 5 ring dips, about 20 box jumps and 3 50 M sprints.

Comment #43 - Posted by: ronnie at August 10, 2005 8:59 AM

Jason,
In the FAQ (http://www.mitymous.net/weights/xfitfaq.htm), it says to do the WUx3, 10-15 reps each

Comment #47 - Posted by: allen at August 10, 2005 9:15 AM

Big improvements for me with Cindy.

The last time Cindy was up, it was my first time with her and I had only been doing CF for 1 week. I modified to 3 pull-ups (assisted), 5 push-ups (knees), & 7 squats. I completed 14 rounds + 3 pull-ups.

Today I did the 5 pull-ups with a 20# lower assist than before, 10 push-ups (knees) & 15 squats. I completed 14 rounds!

Thanks CF. Great improvements in 1 month!

Comment #48 - Posted by: Leanne at August 10, 2005 9:20 AM

My soccer season begins in three weeks and I wanted to step up the training. Does anyone see a problem with doubling the CF WOD? I.E. "Cindy" in 40 mins.

Comment #49 - Posted by: Lino at August 10, 2005 10:03 AM

Hey Lino, I myself don't see any problem. I would just make sure the coroner is there with a bodybag because I think you may need it!

Did 15 rounds of Cindy. Might have been 16, but I was going pretty fast at the start at lost track. Last time I think I only did 10 rounds, but I forgot to post in comments so I am not sure :(

Comment #50 - Posted by: Jon at August 10, 2005 10:07 AM

cindy: 17 rounds + 5 pullups & 5 pushups

CFing since July 16. 1st time with Cindy (July 17) was 13 rounds with broken pullups. What I found interesting this time - t'was the pushups that gave me the most grief. Anyway, only 26 days in, I'm pleased with my progress!

Comment #61 - Posted by: Laird at August 10, 2005 11:10 AM

Mary= 8rounds + 5HSPU/ 6 pistols
BW=193
Warmed up with KB Turkish getup/windmill combinations, Janda situps, and KB lizard crawls. HSPUs were forehead/nose to floor. Had to touch my hands on the floor for balance for most of the pistols, never to assist on ascent/descent. Pullups were done on rings. First set unbroken, all others broken into 5-5-5, then 5-3-2 on last couple of rounds. First time with Mary. Been GTG with pistols the past week so I thought it was a sign to bump it up a notch. Passed up on Kettlebell overhead carries and farmer's walks after. Have 2hrs of BJJ at the academy tonight so I want to tax my grip then. Feeling great! Can't wait for tomorrow's WOD!

Comment #62 - Posted by: Ben E. at August 10, 2005 11:11 AM

Cindy 10 Rounds
Same number or rounds as last time but I dropped my assisted pullup weight by 30lbs. Though my real slow down is pushups, after about 60-70 they become a real challenge.

Comment #70 - Posted by: Adam B at August 10, 2005 11:49 AM

Awesome, Kelly!!

I want to do this Cindy but I'm on my rest day...perhaps tomorrow.

Comment #71 - Posted by: Laurar at August 10, 2005 12:02 PM

We all did Cindy:

Kim - jumping pullups and knee push ups - 9 rounds
Allison - jumping pullups and knee pushups which became wall push ups after two rounds - 10 rounds

I did as prescribed but only 12 rounds cause I kept stopping to coach Allison on her squats which were not so good at the beginning. Towards the end she had very pretty squats. I also ripped a callus today. Bummer.

Comment #72 - Posted by: beth at August 10, 2005 12:12 PM

first time doing 'cindy'
11 rounds
every second round did chins instead of pullups and hindu squats instead of regular squats. regular squats ass to ground everytime. all sets unbroken. all pulls/chins dead hang. all push ups done on vertical knuckles.

thought i'd get more rounds though... must be the heat... excuses...:)

Comment #73 - Posted by: t hall at August 10, 2005 12:13 PM

Amazing!!!

I pulled my hamstring on Saturday. I decided I wasn't going to push myself to hard today and knew I wasn't going to beat my last time.

Last time with Cidy 20 rds.

This time I did 23 rds and stopped at 18 minutes when I went from good to bad pain in my ham. That's 3 rounds better with a bad hamstring and 2 minutes to spare!!!!

Needless to say I am very happy with myself. I honestly don't think I could have recovered this fast on a more 'traditional' workout program.

Comment #74 - Posted by: EliC at August 10, 2005 12:21 PM

18 rounds with Cindy for first time trying this. good workout.

for those ripping dead skin off the hands, try not to slide off the bar. try to pop up and release. saves much pain. hope this helps.

Finished round 24 at the buzzer (and the final squat round of DEATH). Used the rings this time around and lost one round from my previous effort.

-D.

Comment #84 - Posted by: Dan Silver at August 10, 2005 1:23 PM

Lino, what are you looking to achieve by stepping up your training?

Pacing this workout over 40 mins is going to be a very different beast to the balls to the wall effort that Cindy encourages. I would encourage you to stick with the 20mins and pick the intensity up to maximise your metabolic benefits.

The upper body strength endurance you might achieve by a long drawn out Cindy really wouldn't seem to be a primary concern for a soccer player. If you want more, maybe include some sprint or footwork drills. Then again you just might find 20 mins with Cindy really is enough for one day.

just my 0.02c

Cindy - 12 rounds + 5 pull-ups + 10 push-ups. Pull-ups assisted & push-ups on knees. Over 2 round improvement on last time, know I can do more.
Plus thanks for the pull-up advice on the forums, managed my first unassisted, dead-hang to chest on bar pull-up this week! Hope the second comes a bit easier.

Comment #87 - Posted by: Emma at August 10, 2005 1:37 PM

One question I had pertained to the level of soreness I feel after a workout. FOr example: If my biceps are still sore from Monday's workout should I still do the regular workout for the day or would it be best to alter it somewhat?

Comment #88 - Posted by: Scott M at August 10, 2005 1:39 PM

Cindy
11 rounds even. That was the hardest CF I've done yet. Just missed pukie.

Comment #89 - Posted by: Oscar L at August 10, 2005 1:39 PM

Emma, that is awesome. Don't worry, building up numbers comes a whole lot quicker once you can do one. Fantastic work, keep it up!!

Scott M, unless we are talking injury pain then the best medicine for your soreness will be doing todays WOD. Don't set out at a blazing pace, just go through the motions and focus on quality movement. It won't be the last time pull-up WODs come close together so you will need to condition your body to work when tired. It is an opportunity to test your mental toughness.

Having said all that, if you think the pulls will really slow you down try doing three or even two per round instead of 5. This should let you move through quicker and share the love with your chest and legs!!

Lastly, think about pulling with your elbows rather than your hands. They are just hooks connecting your body to the bar. By thinking about this (and playing round a bit) you should find your back working a little harder and your biceps working a little less.

Cheers, kempie

22 rounds + 5 pulls + 2 push-ups w/ 1st 6 rounds as Rx'd in 6:30 & the rest were with jumping pulls and push-ups on knees. This was 8 push-ups & 1 squat less than last time, but this time had 1 more round as Rx'd.

Did the workout from 2 days ago yesterday, and I felt it on the pullups today. Did 9 complete rounds, plus 5 hspus. HSPUs were partials to a 2 inch pillow on the floor, against a wall. Pulups were broken after the 2nd or 3rd set.

Comment #101 - Posted by: Paul Si at August 10, 2005 3:22 PM

18 rounds. Took it easy today as it is the first day back after about a month. Been very busy with work and life. But should be getting back into the swing again.

Cindy. BW=205. 9 whole rounds. Chins for 5 first 4 sets then broke nto 3/2 with rest. I've been doing the CF warmup everyday to work on my chinups but I think it actually hurt me on this one (weak grip) and the WOD from 2 days ago was brutal on my back too. No problem on pushups or squats.

Comment #109 - Posted by: joe at August 10, 2005 3:59 PM

Made up my own today...will do Cindy tomorrow morning.

Today:
4 rounds
10 pullups on a tree branch (exceptionally rough on the hands)
Run around the hotel (~200m)
10 sidejumps over the tennis net
20 situps unanchored

Time: 16:30

Comment #110 - Posted by: Scott Kustes at August 10, 2005 4:20 PM

Cindy 21 rounds +5 pull ups, 10 push ups, +3 squats and an added bonus of a huge blister on my ring finger from the pull ups on the rock climbers finger board.

Comment #126 - Posted by: Jon at August 10, 2005 5:45 PM

2nd Workout today. Did some deadlift, weighted chin-up and OH squat work earlier.

Did Mary today, as I feel I've been slacking on my handstand pushups lately :)

Managed 13 rounds and 5 HSPU with 10seconds left on the clock. Up about 2 rounds from last time.
Best workout I can do in my kitchen (where the pullup bar is)!

Comment #127 - Posted by: bozman at August 10, 2005 5:47 PM

Mary 10 rounds in just over 9min (3 round PR, my PR may be partially because the last time I did this workout I did ten reps with left leg one round, next round right leg, really slowed me down )

HSPU against the wall forehead to ground each rep.
Pistols were toughest, done with heel on 1.5 inch board, rock bottom, by the 6th set I was getting a small hand assist on reps 6-10.
Pullups unbroken until 8th set.

This was done after a total of 21 reps of clean and push press with bodyweight in sets of 2-4 reps

Does as perscribed mean freestanding HSPU (not against wall)?

Comment #128 - Posted by: craigv bwt 185 at August 10, 2005 5:48 PM

24 rounds. as Rx'd. Drew alot of attention occupying the only pull-up bar for 40 minutes... =)

Pulled my hamstring at rugby practice last night. So I wont be doing the WOD's for a few weeks(I will, but heavily modded and unposted).
Today would have been the first repeat since I started CF, and it would have allowed me to gauge my progress. Oh well. Time for some RICE and rehab.

Hey guys just wanted to express my gratitude and thanks for the life lessons I was tought through crossfit. Last summer I was introduced to crossfit by a fellow warrior and joined. by x-mas I was clean and jerk at 180, deaqdlift 410 and doing about 80 pullups in 20 min. amazing results and then I got locked up for some stuff I did not do and spent 5 months in the county. I trained all the crosfit programs I could remember, the boys in ther could not believe my level of fitness for a guy 38. I managed to walk case dismessed and in still the best shape ever . I am back in the gym and back on crossfit ..thanks for keeping me alive during those hard times.. you guys rock!!

Comment #134 - Posted by: Dan at August 10, 2005 6:14 PM

well, im back from vacation. it was awesome. i got some canoeing in as well as a tiny bit of swimming. also, i found a 170lb rock to play with...definitely challenging and extremely fun. anyways, when i got back home last night after 16hrs en route, Cindy was not the WOD i wanted to see...especially after taking my rest week at sea level and returning to 4000ft. it doesnt have to be fun to be fun...

cfwu x3 w/ reduced pullups

WOD: 20 rounds of Cindy...did the squats as OHSs w/ a broomstick. i think ill stick w/ that mod from now on...it was tough but kept my form honest. oh yeah, my PR on this one is 22+ rounds so not too too bad after a week off.

Comment #135 - Posted by: ediddy at August 10, 2005 6:19 PM

14 rounds plus 5 pullups and 6 pushups.

Last time was 14 rounds plus 5 pullups.

I was still sore from the pushups and pullups in the WOD 2 days back, but I felt that my pullups were faster than I've ever been on Cindy. I will reach 20 rounds with this girl before the end of this year.

Comment #136 - Posted by: Rico at August 10, 2005 6:21 PM

11 + 5 pull ups on 4/26/05
10 + 5 pull ups on 3/15/05
i like this trend.

I didn't have access to a computer to find out what the WOD was, so I did my own.

Three rounds
400 meter run, 21 25# DB thrusters, 21 pull-ups.
400 meter run, 15 25# DB thrusters, 15 Pull-ups.
400 Meter run, 9 25# DB thrusters, 9 Pull-ups.

Time 15:54.

Pukie's cousin, "almost-Pukie" visited a lot on this one.

same as last time and the time before that

Comment #141 - Posted by: Rob M. at August 10, 2005 6:59 PM

7 rounds cindy.

For the past week I have had a problem doing pullups or even a flexed arm hang. I immediately get a shooting pain in my head as if someone tightly cinched a belt around my brain. It fades if I stop for a minute, but doesn't go away entirely and is making getting through the WOD difficult. I'm not holding my breath -after the first time it happened I started paying attention to that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Warmed up w/a 3 mile run and then did Cindy. Lost count 1/2 way through, but it was either 16 or 18 rounds + 3pull-ups. Was shakeing and light headed after ward... It was great! Just transfered back to my old command and had alot of guys comeing up to me asking me questions about the workout while I was doing it. I'm so addicted to this! It's awsome!

I was not feeling up to Cindy or Mary today and I got my new bumpers, so I did a modified Grace.

95 pound C&J 30 reps in 14:07

All rock bottom squat cleans, a mixture of push presses, ugly push jerks and a few thrusters.

I have done more weight faster, but I am really happy with the improvement in my clean form.

Tracy: 12 rounds
Stopped at 17:25; been battling sinus infection. She was able to do full pushups, not from knees this time, and jumping PUs. Last time did 8 rounds.

9 rounds in 20 minutes.

Last set of Pushups were done 'girly style.' This is the first time pullups weren't the bottle neck.

Cf Warmup x3 without Pullups then :
Mary 5 rounds : First date with Mary. All HSPU's where with my back against the wall full ROM ( head touching floor). Pistols (One Legged Squats) where tuff, used a pole for balance, Pullups (all broken) last couple of sets did jumping pullups. I really need to learn how to kip.

3 L-sits (hanging from pull-up bar) 15 seconds each.

Cindy.
18 rounds + 5 pulls + 10 push-ups

Still down from my traditional 20 rounds, with absolutely no explaination why. My push-ups seem to really be suffering, where they used to be a strength of mine. Guess that's what happens when I ignore them for a while.

Comment #166 - Posted by: David Knutzen at August 10, 2005 9:56 PM

First time with a girl. 8 rounds. The workout was easy, the endurance (more like the lack thereof) is what got me! I was breathing hard the entire time. At 16 minutes, pulse was at 160. At the end it was 164.

Did knuckle pushups with feet elevated, pull-ups tend to aggravate my elbows, so I did two sets, and the rest were body weight lat pulldowns.

It is finally a true benchmark for me as this was the first Cindy where I grinded out all pushups full body style. 13 rounds even, all pullup and squat sets were unbroken. Pushup sets generally broken 5-3-2 after going unbroken for the first 2 rounds. True pushups caused me to lose 5 rounds versus last time, but I was finally ready to step up Cindy as prescribed.

NO comparision to last time. Sick then and did push ups on knees and band assisted pull ups 11+ 3 pulls rounds

Fiona well but modifing due to injury.
5 Pull downs (back up to 55kg now :)
10 one arm pushups full support GAO.

Cindy - 20

Mike_c, Utah, House ... good lord. That's fast and sustained.

Haven't posted in a while, just recovering from a back injury - minor but didn't feel that way when it happened.

I just got a new fixie (fixed wheel bike). I use it for local transport so the legs are getting blasted daily.

Feels good to be back.

Comment #200 - Posted by: kevin gp at August 11, 2005 10:42 AM

Pukie was a-knockin' but he didn't quite make it in the door! I was a day late on my date with Cindy, so I doubled up with deadlifts.

27 rounds plus 5 pullups, 5 full rounds more than last time - then I fell out gasping on the floor, getting odd looks from the stairclimbers ;-)

I'm still light-headed, today was definitely a max effort day!

Sempers,
madsox

Comment #201 - Posted by: madsox at August 11, 2005 10:45 AM

Mary-7. Sore as all get out from 2nd-day soreness courtesy of the weighted Tabata. HSPU's easier when hands are on the floor vice on the push-up bar. Still not getting the nose to the ground though.

Comment #202 - Posted by: Monte at August 11, 2005 11:14 AM

Cindy - 11 full rounds plus 5 pullups and 10 pushups. Previous best was 13 full rounds, but this is a new PR because I did all of the pullups totally unassisted. Very fired up I am!

Comment #203 - Posted by: Chris Q. at August 11, 2005 11:21 AM

Cindy (8-10-05 am - day late post)
Did 22 complete rounds and 5 and 10 on the 23rd, finished the 15 squats at 20:15.

Posting a day late -

"Cindy"
10 rounds with 10 secs left. I made it back up to the pullup bar when the bell tolled. Pullups were definitely the limiting factor again - very slow and had to break them up after only the third round.

Comment #205 - Posted by: robp at August 11, 2005 11:48 AM

15 rounds. First 10 were done in the first 8 minutes, then I had a hard time deciding if I was tired, or bored of doing it.

Comment #206 - Posted by: LeBlanc at August 11, 2005 12:00 PM

After yesterday doing pull-ups for the first time in almost a month I decided to do half of Cindy.

10 minutes, 9 rounds

Cindy as rx'ed

18 rounds (PR)

Comment #208 - Posted by: Jason Fox at August 11, 2005 12:55 PM

6 rounds of Cindy. Such a buttercup...

I take comfort in the fact that I graduated from mr gravitron and did all the pull ups unassisted, broken into sets of 1, but unassisted. The first round though I was able to do 2 in a row which I was proud of so soon after doing them assisted @ half bodyweight on the gravitron. Next time, I'm going for 10 or more rounds.

Crap! Did Mary x 6 with 10 pistols per leg as well...
Thought I heard....
Mary: Is that all you have, little man?
Miket: I was only shooting for five and got six!
Mary: Not good enough. Next time I come over here, you better be able to do me eight times or you can just go back to whatshername...
Miket: Cindy?

You know what sucks?
Posting after Greg A., that's what!
24 rounds with a 20 lb vest? Superhuman.
Good luck on getting 25, although I know you'll get it.

Me? I felt like I was Matt G. Did 2 full workouts in one session.
First, b-ball court sprints for 15 min. 2 free throws immediately followed by up and back sprints full court. Went 2-for-2 a couple of times. As I got to the end, form was a little off.
Followed the sprints with Cindy.
14 rounds and 2 pull ups. Felt better about the effort, but could tell the sprints had taken their toll. My 15 lb weight vest, my gut, was slowing me down slightly.

Lastly, farmer's walks w/80lb in each hand for about 30m. Very shakey at the end.

Cindy, 13, pull-ups, 7 push-ups. I lost count and will use the counter feature on my watch from now on.

Had to miss this one due to some dislocated fingers about 30 minutes before I planned on starting.

I have (once again) proven that you can not block kicks with two fingers.

Comment #231 - Posted by: J Jones at August 12, 2005 7:46 AM

Cindy: 23 rounds in 30 minutes.

Slight improvement over previous encounters.

Stayed on pace for 12 rounds (about the same).

But, usually, I drop to (-1) after I fall behind; this time, I stayed at the prescribed reps (5-10-15) and even added a 25-lb plate to the squats (alternate rounds as holding the plate to the chest or holding it overhead in an OH squat). So, its a small improvement, but I'll take it.

Comment #232 - Posted by: davidjwood at August 12, 2005 9:15 AM

I did Cindy . Th is was not my best peformance.
18 rounds plus 2 pull-ups. All pull-ups were dead hang.

Comment #233 - Posted by: T.Rain at August 12, 2005 9:59 AM

Cindy: 10

My pullups still stink though. Keep on...

Comment #234 - Posted by: Nick at August 12, 2005 10:31 AM

Took a couple of days off, Cindy wasn't too nice to me (she can be a real witch you know...)
Pushups on parallettes, squats until calves touched hammies.

8 sets unbroken

Pullups are still the weak link in all this, once I get those up to speed my number of sets should increase drastically. Damn gravity....

Buck

Comment #235 - Posted by: buck at August 12, 2005 10:36 AM

Oh yeah, I don't kip my pullups yet, it looks like I am having a seizure, so until I get the hang of it, I will just be doing the dead hangs...

Comment #236 - Posted by: buck at August 12, 2005 10:37 AM

Um . . . when did Cindy become 20 minutes?

I could have sworn it was 30 minutes. My 23 rounds was over 30 minutes . . . probably about 17 rounds in 20 minutes (but I wasn't thinking about it).

Didn't Cindy used to be 30 minutes long?

(Checks the FAQ) . . . .

OK, it was "Chelsea" that was 30 minutes. Damn . . .

Comment #237 - Posted by: davidjwood at August 12, 2005 10:43 AM

18 rounds of Cindy, one or two round improvement over last time (lost count and didn't post)
tougher than it looks

Comment #238 - Posted by: mfbunch at August 12, 2005 11:31 AM

Mary, 9 rounds, plus 5 HSPUs.
I am completely weak on the one-legged squats and had to jump for last rounds on pull-ups.

Day three on Crossfit. First time with Cindy workout. Lots of assisted weight on pull-ups, push-ups on knees, and no weight on squats.

Comment #245 - Posted by: brandt at August 12, 2005 6:38 PM

Very inspiring and funny stories up there.

Cindy: 15 rounds + 5 pullups
Remarkable increase in both physical strength and mental toughness since my last round with ol' girl.

I went in telling myself that I was going to get 15 rounds, no matter what. Thanks to my increased wind and new-found kipping skills, I hit my last PR, 11 rounds, in 13:09. The last four rounds were hard fought and hard won. The last 5 pullups took me three tries. I failed twice to get one pullup, then told myself something along the lines of "Get up there or you're a dead man". Whatever it was, it worked. Next time I'll do it sooner so I can hit 18 rounds flat.

Comment #246 - Posted by: Eric '07 at August 12, 2005 10:32 PM

Workout 1: Rutman Mile 30kg (1/2BW) 14:18

Workout 2: Cindy - 15 rounds. Felt pretty good. Squats were weak due to my soreness from a previous tabata WOD. Still a 3 round PR though.

Cindy

19reps

Finally learning to kip, pushups/squats not a problem ... pullups still broken after 5th round. Did negs and jumping to complete rounds.

16 complete

Full extention to chest Pull ups
Chest to floor pushups
Butt to heels squats

Form definately makes a huge difference in the # of rounds you can correctly complete.

A couple days late, but I wanted to do my first mary (because of Dan's egging me on).

10 rounds plus 4 HSPU negatives.

HSPUs were negatives because I am working on full ROM still. Pistols were using a bar for balance. Pull ups were broken for the last three sets.

Ran 400k for a WU.

8 rounds of Cindy plus 5 assisted pull-ups

First round of pull-ups completed with no assist (a PR). Following rounds I got 1 or 2 before going to jumping or assisted.

Was also assisting workout partner with her pull-ups so probably had at least 1 more round in me.
