Made it through only my second WOD, and my pull-ups are up from 4 to now a personal best 5 in just two weeks..not bad.

400 metre runs were 20 metre shuttles in the back yard.
ohs were with 25kg, these are something i really need to work on.
finished off with 3 sets of 10 pull ups.
Damn, lost the paper with my time on it for this. Ran on treadmill and used 95lb. All as rxed.

Legs were still numb from yesterday, so they didn't really hurt. I was surprised how fried my grip was, probably from fighting those few OHS reps that were trying to get away from me.
It was hard to shave myself afterwards.

My gym isn't set-up well for this: the free-weights are on a different floor from the treadmills, and lifting then getting outside to run would also be v. time consuming - what would anyone recommend? Skipping at a sprint pace for 90s? Any help would be appreciated...

"Nancy" - 18:20 with 400 meter rows and 75# butt to ankles OH squats. Rowed rather than running due to time constraints before work - it would take more time than I have to move equipment outdoors and bring it back inside. It's also too hair-raising to have to run up and down the stairs without squashing one of eight felines or having one escape out the door and run outside.
Ironic, but I can now run 400 meters 15-25 seconds faster than I can row 400 meters.
Tats...unless you're incapable of getting up/down stairs, I'd suggest you go as written. There are very few of us who have treadmills directly next to powercages. You've just got to suck it up.

Funny story: I work out at an independent gym owned by a very cool former Olympic hammer thrower. Despite occasional funny looks, I don't get hassled about doing Crossfit (throwing around weights, making noise, etc). Today, as I was running to the treadmill to start the 5th round, a heard a voice ring out from the cardio room: "STOP doing that! That is SIMPLY unacceptable!" I guess the crotchety old lady was offended by me dropping the 95lb bar on to the squat rack. My only response was "Uh, sorry" as I was definitely in the zone and trying not to pass out! After I finished, I apologized for bothering her but had to politely explain that the power lifting area and dump platform are in a different room for a reason. Sometimes noise gets made when one is lifting heavy weights.
Heh heh. We shall see if this is strike one for me getting kicked out. I doubt it. It's good to have a gym owner who gets it.

Working consistently on getting the OHS form right, so only used a 15lb bar. Before crossfit I never realized how lacking my shoulder flexibility was. I have a hard time keeping the bar back far enough to maintain balance on my heels. I'm sure it will come though.

In the ohsq it is much more difficult to manage dumbbells than it is to manage the barbell.

OH squats were 75 for first two rounds (5/5/5) then reduced to 65 (8/7) for the last three rounds after one too many dumps. For some odd reason my quads were killing me...
warmed up with jump rope, OH lunges, incline situps, back ext, and swinging from pullup bar (chinese pullups?) for three rounds.

Stephen R ...I was heartened by your post as I was unable to work out until 8.45pm and I was in on my own with my children so I had to adapt! My garden is 15m long so do the maths ,the turnarounds made it hard but I did it.Where there's a will there's a way!
This was a good one...We did around 12:00 with 45lbs.
I am going to do this one tonight at the track subbing a 45lb plate for the OHS. I am in St Louis and now it's 95F with 50% humidity with a heat advisory in effect.
I have taken some time off and was missing CrossFit. I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Followed up yesterday's "Monday Math Madness" with a FGB derivative at HQ. Brenden led us through:

5 rounds. dropped weight on WB rounds 4 and 5. Mixed in some 40lb D-Ball slams with the 20 pounder--much more difficult.

I should have not pushed so hard on first round because I never really recovered . All OHS unbroken rock bottom, whipped at the end. Was very pleased with OHS squat form - first time I've seriously done them in a WOD. Only one broken set (number 3, weirdly enough). Could have gone a fair bit harder on the run but was nervous about keeping enough juice for the OHSs.

Felt bad throughout the day, so went easy on the WOD. 65# OHS, 200m run.
1:15 stationary bike sprint subbed for run-it was humid like you wouldn't believe. after it rains in the south and it is over 90 degrees, whatever fluids you have in you are quickly sucked out. i took a pass on the outdoor work.

I took my rings to the gym today, one of the biggest guys in the gym came over and started talking to me. After a few min I invited him to do some dips and it astounded me that as big as he was he could barely do a single ring dip. Just goes to show you that size isnt everything... after that he went back to his bench presses.

I have been doing crossfit for about three weeks now and have not introduced myself. My name is David Ross Behrens I am 18yo, from Roseville,CA. I used to just life weights and box to stay in shape, until my weight training coach turned me on to crossfit. Since then I have seen a dramatic increase in endurance and stamina. I leave for the NAVY in december where I will eventually be a part of the NAVY SEALs, and MTF(moblie task force). Crossfit has been great in helping me prepare for the intense physical training ahead.

Still developing the OHS form; started with 95lbs, but just couldn't do a decent squat. The form finally started to click and feel good during the last set.
A late post, was at a large structure fire most of the night.
Am very fortunate to have one of Canada's strongest men, "take me under his wing" so to speak. Worked out with him this aft, prior to the WOD. Did some bench, up to 315 for a double, then worked on some Romanian dead lifts, and other similar strengthening exercises.
Immediately after, did todays WOD.

Completely lost it during round 3. I anticipated this workout lasting no more than 17 minutes.
My arms felt like jello (as my arms basically fell asleep) during the 4th and 5th rounds so in round five did 95x5 and then the bar for the final 10. For the next two hours, my arms and hands felt palsied and uncoordinated. And I was nauseus for two hours. Treadmill runs are horrible substitutes.

First time doing OHS for reps, all sets unbroken except for first rep where I missed my med-ball depth marker and fell on my ass! Will definitely go up to 35 or 40kg next time. First three runs all at 10mph, 4th at 11 and last at 12 (hamster wheel).
Awesome workout - really surprising as my legs felt pretty wooden after yesterdays WOD. Guess pain really is just a state of mind.

I had to go bragging about how well I'd done the day before this, didn't I? That'll teach me to open my big mouth.
(In case you hadn't heard me whining before, my OH squats STINK - one of my many "nemesis" exercises.)
Anyway, my choice was keep the weight and sub regular (back) squats or drop the weight a lot and go for the OHS form. Decided to go for weight this time, then I'll work on OHS form another session.

If I could feel them, I think my legs would hurt now.
