Big shout out to Eddie Lugo!!

Thanks for turning me onto CrossFit back in September at the Jets game. Best thing I've done in a long time.

I agree... crossfit is, it just is. Crossfit is the only word to describe it. I dont workout or PT anymore. I crossfit. Awesome job coach.

Hey...just wanted to wish everyone a good and educational (and physically challenging) time at this weekend's Seminar.

Have fun!

Comment #6 - Posted by: Matt G. at April 15, 2005 5:00 AM

2 rounds of the CF warmup x 12 reps
2 sets of 95lb snatch + OHS x 5 reps
Squat Snatch Singles 105, 115, 125, 135, 145, 155, failed 165 - BW 173
Need to do more OHS, Presses and just lifting overhead in general which is my weakest link from what I can tell.

Missed fight gone bad the other day so I played catchup.

short WU
FGB: 327
stretch
20 min CD on eliptical

supposed to do a long bike with a buddy this PM. We'll see...

Hey sean: Does FGB remind you of lunches with Dale or what?

Well, i'm off Mountain Biking in the Brecon Beacons (Wales) for the weekend so y'all try not to miss my insightful comments too much (yeah right!) and have a good one!

See you on Monday!

Hey Ya'll,

My internet has been down for a while, hence...no posts. I"ve been doing what I remember from some of the WOD's I've alread done.

Today for PT the Company had a competition that in the end was 200 push ups, 200 sit ups and two mile run. Broken up in sets of 50/400M. I"ve been doing crossfit, or crossfit modified WOD"s for PT with the squad. Our Squad took 1st in the Company with the best time for execution. We all took a 3 day pass. Great deal. Thought ya'll would like to know that. Have a great day off everyone, from the looks of things I"ve got some catching up to do. I'll do the Fight gone bad tomorrow, and move on from there.

Since yesterday's golf was not a good sub for a 10K row today I worked C&J singles, deads and finished with Tabata Squats (not BTB, I just can't do that to myself).

Comment #12 - Posted by: Will H at April 15, 2005 9:48 AM

Karl,
Stay upright! Always wondered what Breacon's Beacons were since I heard the Supergrass song!
Softball coaching has me tuckered out and busy. Only one WOD this week, and that was FGB!!!!!!!
Getting in early today for a 2-in-1 day. L-pulls/back extentions and a 10K row. Should be interesting.

Please, can anyone let me know what the CF warm-up is? I've seen the words on several posts but no detail is provided.
Thanks.

Comment #14 - Posted by: RM at April 15, 2005 10:04 AM

RM, for the warm-up check out the wonderful "Lynne Pitts' Official CrossFit FAQ" link from the home page or use the search box also located there.

Bryan, congratulations and keep up the good work. It doesn't have to be fun to be fun, but sometimes it is!

Comment #15 - Posted by: John P at April 15, 2005 11:06 AM

LOL...I keep telling my Squad that it doesn't have to be fun to be fun....they keep looking at me real weird like and say "what ever!"

105# OH squats: 10x1
bar MUs/bar hipovers: 10x1/1
back bridges: 10x1

Comment #17 - Posted by: kelly moore at April 15, 2005 11:52 AM

Did Tabata squats with a skeptical friend this morning, to demonstrate that four minutes can be *plenty* of time to get your heart rate up.

Score: 18 for me, 6 for him. Touche.

Comment #18 - Posted by: josh at April 15, 2005 11:56 AM

This old PJ is torched! Started back to Crossfit this week after a break due to a health scare. Nothing to be scared about, after all. But, my hips, low back, shoulders and triceps are screaming!! Even after a scaled back Fight Gone Bad. I think today's activities are going to include an ice bath and a Budweiser (maybe two...) Jack

Comment #19 - Posted by: JW Heath at April 15, 2005 12:00 PM

10 min SS snatch test with 52# kb - 95 reps. Resting bell on ground as needed. Thank you Tom Corrigan - I could not have done this safely and painlessly without your instruction in Colorado! No broken bones this time....

Comment #20 - Posted by: kelly moore at April 15, 2005 5:32 PM

Did the L-pulls and back extentions WOD than ran out of time.
Did 150 wall ball shots at home with a 10# ball (heaviest I have here) in about 10 minutes.
Mom's B-day today!! Going to Souplantation!! Yay, salad!

Comment #21 - Posted by: Ron N. at April 15, 2005 6:18 PM

Attempting to do grace today, I had an utter lack of stamina and motivation. Thus, I am beginning a one week rest period. can't wait till next friday!

Comment #22 - Posted by: brendan at April 15, 2005 6:21 PM

everytime I see someone workout on a REST day, it seems they (whoever THEY are)state they have a poor or unmotivated workout. Isnt that what rest days are for? Not trying to be rude, it just makes no sense to me.

Comment #23 - Posted by: TimW at April 15, 2005 6:39 PM

I don't think that's the case at all Tim. Look no further than 3 posts up from yours...sounds like Kelly had a great workout.

I regularly work out on CF rest days, and rarely have a bad one. But since I'm not doing a CF WOD, I don't post about it in Comments.

Had a fun first day of the seminar today. The only thing that could pull me off the floor after Fran was the Glassman's dog licking me all over the mouth. Thanks to everyone who encouraged me during that workout. After btb tabata squats, fran, 4 half mile sprints, and 6 100 yard sprints, I am definitely going to be feeling the love tomorrow.

Comment #25 - Posted by: russ greene at April 15, 2005 7:48 PM

thanks russ, you're feeling the love, I'm feeling the envy :)

2nd Tabata workout with my wife

AbMat situps (R) 11 (M) 7
squats (R)15 (M)16
burpees (R)3 (M)4

much much more intense than last time. Big bump up in intensity. Great job, Rachel!

P.S. Man, I'm gonna hate all those squats tomorrow (after 140 at speed tonight)

Comment #28 - Posted by: rosceaux at April 15, 2005 8:16 PM

I was working out today because I missed the workout yesterday. I am taking a week rest period, because I cannot remember the last time I took an extended period of rest, and feel my body direly needs it. Not because I worked out on a "REST" day. A little sad that I am going to miss Angie (was looking forward to my first one), but it makes perfect sense to me.

Comment #29 - Posted by: brendan at April 15, 2005 8:49 PM

"Kelly"
