CrosfitEast:Happy New Year to CFHQ, and all the crossfitters.
I have been shadowing this website for a few months now after a friend turned me onto it. As a New Year's resolution, I have pledged to myself to do complete the workouts of the day. A few questions though: First, while I take nothing away from the difficulty of the WOD's, do most members just complete them or do they add other elements (runs, bike rides, etc)? And secondly, my diet is in need of serios overhaul. What are some tips to support my daily routines?
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I wish everyone to be stronger, faster and have the endurance of a horse by the time 2006 rolls around. But of course we will be since we're all hardcore croosfitters.
I ended this year with one of the challenges, walking on my hands for 100 feet. A lot harder than expect it.
Mike:
Welcome and happy new year! Once you've ramped up to full speed on the WOD's, you'll see they're usually more than enough. A good warm up before helps as well. As for nutrition advice, take a peek at the message boards under nutririon and search for threads involving the Zone. Many pages of advice/discussion to take in.
If all else fails, feel free to ask questions or post. You'll find this to be the friendliest and most knowledgabble site on the net.
Happy New Year to all. Here's to a great, fit, and happy 2005!!!
Mike, I just started doing the WOD's a week ago and trust me, on their own they are usually more than enough.
Ditto on both counts. Finished second set of WODs today.
Tough Training, excellent info, experienced support.
High quality place, people, and instruction. Rare.
i want to thank crossfit for being such sharing leaders of the fitness world. greg, lauren, lani, et al are awesome role models and their tireless efforts at educating the masses to the BEST WAY.....is very much appreciated.
Happy New Year to all! I wish everyone much fun and success in your goals in '05.
I cannot do a L-hold for more than 2 seconds at best. Any suggestions on how to strengthen my abs enough to hold for longer? Or will any ab excercise circuit do?
Happy New Year from CrossFit NorCAl!

Happy New Year to all from one of the many "larval crossfit affiliates" (see discussion board to understand that joke).
We went down to HQ this morning to workout. Thanks to Nicole and Tony this is what we did:
01 -- New Years Ball Drop warm up (ask them about what this is)
01 -- 1 of each of the following:
tabata squats
large loop run
farmers walk
rope climb
walking lunges
parallel bar walk forwards and backwards
waiter walk
maximum L-Sit
Bear Circuit (power clean, front squat, push press, back squat, push press)
Max hold handstand
cargo net
2005 -- 2005 meter row.
It was a wonderfully way to start the new year. My 8 year old son followed up after by doing Fight Gone Bad scaled down for his 45lb body. His score was 397!
Beth, Jonathan, Sam
Yeah, that was a booty kicking workout!
And Sam doing Fight gone bad was AWESOME!
JK
Skied about 3.5 miles in 2-3 feet of new snow, breaking trail. Received some nice "feet not in shape yet" blisters.
working yesterday, so did 30 min beach run today (3-4 miles) soo tired and slow. happy new year folks!
Also first day of year skiing for me. It was only at Camelback (a nothing-much place in the Poconos of Eastern PA), but it was still about 25 (short) runs in 4 hours . . . felt good.
3 mile run with 25lb. pack. Sandbag shouldering (185lbs. 42 x's) Happy New Year to all.
Tabata Squat
Then 2 rounds of
Push-press w/dumbbells x 15 reps
Deadlift x 10 reps
New Year's Day workout with my girlfriend.
Happy 2005, everyone! Who's got a CD that they swear by to get them pumped up? For me, it's Pantera's 'Far Beyond Driven'. Would be interested in hearing everyone's input...
Long time ghoster, first time poster. My brother got me into this and I would go kill him if I could get up off the couch.
First WOD:
3 rounds 100 squats and 800 meters.
Goal was to get under 30 min, did it in 29.56.
Looking forward to a crossfit year.
Allen...
