That is a great picture.

Any Camp Pendleton Marines out there?

I'm trying to gauge support for getting a Crossfit Certification seminar on base.

Gym Jones is as good as it looks...part laboratory, part torture chamber. References to "Jonestown" become obvious to zealots of the art of Crossfit.

Tackled Fran this morning. My first time with 95lb. Took me 13:40 due to broken sets.

Still sore from this weekend's drunken lifting...

2 days behind due to schedule conflicts. Played basketball yesterday in the blistering cold (for So Cal, that is) and suffered a nasty little lower back spasm. Spent the rest of the day watching football with friends, and beer.
Going to tackle Fran today and maybe a spin class, time allowing!!

HQ deadlift extravaganza today.
10 reps at 95
8 @ 135
6 @ 185
4 @ 205
2 @ 225
1 @ 245
1 @ 275
1 @ 295
1 @ 315
1 @ 325
1 @ 335
1 @ 365
1 @ 385
1 @ 405 PR (form was bad, sadly).
Lauren gave us all the unique opportunity to do parallel bar walks down and back in between DL sets, I think it ended up being @ 15 trips. BW=205. Finished with an alley run with Ben and Cill with a medicine ball.

Forgot to mention there were at least 5 PRs if not more this morning. It was outstanding!

I did yesterday's FRAN today.

Three rounds 65lb. thrusters and pullups.

I did 9 unassisted pullups in a row! That's a new record for me! Wahoo!

total time about 23min.

I've never posted, though I've followed Crossfit on and off for over a year, if not in prescription then certainly in philosophy. Unequivocally the best protocol of its kind available. Thanks to all for the hard work, quality website and for making it available to us out here. Your relentless dedication is very much appreciated.

Saw Thompson's posting and wanted to break the ice to acknowledge -- nice work today, downright tough, and I'll see you soon for the Feast.

We put together a workout for some folks here at work who wanted to train this morning:

Pull-ups w/ knee to elbow body curl
Ring Dips
Thrusters w/ broomstick
Walking Lunge

Sets @ 20-18-16-14-12-10-8-6-4-2 < 25:00

Broken sets by all and some (1) Ring Dip = (4) push-ups by some. Solid work by all.

Tonight at Gym Jones: No Rest!

We had a clinic.

Jeff Webb joins the Muscle-Up Club during his first time on the rings. I quit counting how many he did total after seeing him do several sets of four.

Jeff and Jim Howe pushed PRs on the OH Squat (130#)

The workout had to be quick:
10x Deadlift (185#) + 25 Box Jumps (24" box) three times
Jeff 5:06
Jim 5:30
Mark 4:54
Leanne 5:18 (130#)
Steve 6:44 (155#)

Bring the Kool-Aid,

Mark T.

I decided to redeem myself on "Grace" today (135 lb clean and jerk, 30 reps). I did 6:59 on my 10/31/04 attempt after performing 5:40 on my 6/24/04 attempt. My time today:

I also decided to do a pull-up variant of Grace as well. 30 pull-ups for time just to see how it went. Total time: 1:15

I was inspired to work out today by everyone who routinely kicks my butt on these work outs. Thanks for keeping me honest guys!

Did saturday's workout today...

15 Squat cleans at 85lbs
20 double unders (not exactly all double unders but the rope did go round at least 100 times per set. Sometimes twice, under sometimes not)

In 20 minutes I completed 3 sets and got most the way through a third set of Squat cleans.

Today's 1AM workout. Felt tired (duh). Moved out of the snow and into the garage. This late just wanted to do some form stuff for oly lifting learned at the seminar, warmed up with some light kb stuff. No rest between any sets (was pretty light and wasn't a prob, but got the heart pounding for sure).

joint mobility while jogging in place
alternating buttkickers and high knees 2 minutes
bottom to bottom squats 10
alternating buttkickers and high knees 2 minutes
bottom to bottom squats 10
26lb snatches 30+30
36lb snatches 10+10
tactical lunges with 26lb kb 30

Olympic lifting practice with broomstick - 3 sets of:
3 shrug pulls
3 high elbow shrug pulls
3 muscle snatches

also with broomstick:
3 deadlifts
3 snatches
3 squat snatches
3 overhead squats

Felt like going to sleep, but knew It'd keep me up if I didn't do at least a couple pullups.
5 pullups
5 36lb swings
5 pullups
5 36lb swings
