Hey! Guess what? I just maxed out on the squats @ 305lbs. For me thats a PR & slightly greater than 2X BWT. BUT what is more important to me is that some of the 10lb plates I used are the same ones that my dad(RIP) & I started lifting over fourty years ago in the early 1960s probably B4 a lot of you guys were working out.. ! Anyway it was a Zen-like work out for me today or hopefully just the continuation of one long workout that started overseas years ago....hooyah!
Dave,
You just made my day!
Dave, that was before I was born. Way to go on the Squat.

1x305

1x350 failed
BW=170
Previous PR was 335 so not sure why I tried 350 other than I forgot what I did last time. Not enough time to unload the weight and get it back up on the rack so I did a max test on Pullups and did 26, a new PR and an increase from a max of 7 when I started CF in Feb of this year.
Really focused on full range of motion today as oppossed to las time when I only went to parallel with the legs. As such I lost about 40 lbs off my last score but really felt this session after. Also felt like my core and legs were working as oppossed to just my legs.
3 - 209, 214.5lbs
2 - 220, 220, 231lbs
1 - 231, 231(fail), 220, 220(fail), 220lbs
Failures were coming back up, could not quite manage the full extension.
Finished off with Tabata Squats which hurt lots! Scored 19.
3 @ 205
2 @ 225/225/225
1 @ 250/250/250/250/265
Heavy squatting really isn't my game. Regardless...my reps were slow and controlled, ass-to-ankles. The last rep is my bodyweight plus 100 lbs.
Tomorrow will be my last CrossFit post for about 10 days...I'm off to the Boundary Waters to kayak.
TSC pistols: 36x1L+1R
52x4L+4R+1L (fell out of position and did one more with left leg)
TSC pullups: 36x3, 36x2, 44x1, 54x1, 70x1
I need to back off the rest of this week on the TSC events and probably the WODs as well; my left forearm is badly bruised from poorly executed snatches, my left bicep is starting to feel strained and that blasted pinched nerve in my neck is knocking at the door again. To top it off, I feel tired most of the time - sounds like overtraining.
Today's WOD:
175x3
205x2
215x2
225x2
235x1
245x1
255x1
265x1 - feeling a pull in right glute; didn't do final set
is a full range of motion standard for crossfit regarding squats? i havent done them in a while, and my warm up would be full ROM, but working sets would be parallel. thanks.
Switched back to rehab poundages. My goal (besides rehabbing the knee) is to work back to my previous maxes while maintaining ass to grass form (as opposed to just breaking parallel).

Followed with ab work consisting of fingers-to-bar and GHS.
Feeling sad to see some great lifts going on and I can't join in after tearing a hamstring yesterday. Looks like banch only for a few weeks. Just imaging being under that bar and squating till I puke makes me want to get down to the gym right now instead of sitting here with my leg all iced up.
No rack, so I cleaned the weight (pretty close to my max) and then front squated all the way down.
4x5 135 lbs.
Followed up with some handstand practice against a wall.

P.R. by 5 pounds with 210. Not a very satisfying improvement in a month, but then we haven't done much heavy squatting. I am faster out of the hole (from all those deadlifts?) but the middle is weak - knees keep moving in and tracking forward slightly.
Finished with a 20-rep squat set at 170, straight body lift negatives, and Janda sit-ups.

BW 200#
Felt pretty good. Could have hit 315 I think, but form was starting to slide. I figured there was a fine line between being a tough a$$ and a dumb a$$.

All squats felt good with vg form; tight and controlled. Improved by 10# since 05/24.
Well, just finished my first week as a 'Crossfitter' and it's good to have an easier (for me) workout for a change.
Squat (ass to grass)
2 sets x 135 x 5
185 x 3
225 x 2
245 x 2
265 x 2
285 x 1
305 x 1
325 x 1
345 x 1
365 x 1 (ugly)
BW: 220 Total time: 40 mins
Back Squat:
3x 190# (bwt)
3x (2x 205#)
3x (1x 215#)
2x (1x 225#)
4x (6x 135#)
Over 200# I can get to just below parallel rather than @ss to ankles, so rounded out the sqauts with several sets of a lighter weight to practice form (depth and especially preventing knees from coming in).
Also tried Fitness Test#1 from CF-journal-8
worked my up to 1 rep max. bench of 205# and immediately transitioning to a max. set of pull-ups 23 (new PR). Score: 205*23=4715 (no CF points -minimum is 6000-, but a starting point to improve from). Planning on completing the other tests and using them as benchmarks as well.
160 x 8
190 x 8
275 x 3
315 x 2 x 3
325 x 1
315 x 1 x 4
All ass to grass...no belt.
Back and hamstrings still sore from the deadlifts so I decided not to push this one too hard.
2 X 225 X 3
3 X 255 X 2
2 X 265 X 1
1 X 275 X 1
2 X 135 X 1
New guy. Started at 140# & ended at 180# my body weight. I use saw horses so the squat starts from the bottom.
Decided to front squat. I really need to work consistently on this, I haven't improved in forever:
1. 135x2
2-4. 155x2
5. 185x1
6. 205x1
7. 215x1 (failed)
8-9. 205x1
3x80
2x85

BW 124
Hey, got my wife to try it! That was cool.
Still a newbie at this but trying harder each time.
3-3-2-2-2-1-1-1-1 same weight through
145# (128# BW)
Should have done more. I don't really know my limits yet. I'm sure I will reach them soon.
as Adam above I am still a newbie, and I didn't have a rack to use.
I did the perscribed set but did squat cleans instead (needed the work on form anyway).
135# ass to grass.
My wrists were hurting in the middle, but I know it is just my form that is bad. I have to work on that.
170 x 3
200 x 2
220 x 2
240 x 2
250 x 1
250 x 1
250 x 1
260 x 1
260 x 1
Everything over 210 was a PR, but 210 was PR because I only had 210 pounds of weights. I now have 260 pounds of weights, but I don't think I would have tried over 260 even if I had em....it was hard not to slump my back coming back up at that weight.
Dropped to parallel knees...don't think I can go lower without back rounding...don't have mirrors, video cam, or a partner to check... so i played it safe.
225 x 3
275 x 2
305 x 2
315 x 2
325 x 1
335 x 1
345 x 1
355 x 1
360 x 1 recent PR
Should have done this, but rested instead by watching Lance dominate in stage 17!
Nothing exciting.
Squats: 50kg,60,70,80,82.5,85,80,80,80kg
I suck at squats.
Did some push-presses Tabata style.

Then some Romanian Deadlifts:
