Range of motion was complete...ass-to-ankles. I'm afraid that heavy squats aren't really my strong suit though; this is close to as heavy as I've ever gone.

Hey heads up there is an article on CrossFit in the recent July 2004 Outside Magazine!

It has Lance Armstrong on the cover.

Anyway the article is really well done and it even has illustrations of a few of the WOD Exercises.

I was immpressed to see the article.

We all know that CrossFit is the BEST DAMN Work out ever now others may jump on the wagon.

Way to go guys!

Back squat:

2x (3 reps 185#)
3x (2 reps 205#)
5x (1 reps 225#)
Matched previous PR but was much happier with the depth of the squat, below parallel for all and butt-to-ankles for the 3x and 2x sets

Finished the WOD with:
3x (6 reps 135#) Back squats to absolute rock bottom
5x (10 reps) Jim Baker sit-ups on the glut-ham

3x165
3x175
3x185
2x190
2x195
2x200
All singles at 205 - 5 pounds lighter than last month's squat, but a couple inches deeper; closer to rock bottom than to parallel.
Warmed up with jump rope and squat snatches; finished with a set of 20 squats at 165 (plenty of pauses, but no unloading) and 10 Dragon Flag negatives (done as singles).

I am really sore from yesterday's WOD. Tried a run to loosen up, waited a few hours then tried the back squats. a pitiful showing at 135#-215#,and then went back and did several rock bottom squats at 185#. Finished with several sets of pullups and 1 arm lock-offs.

All reps to rock bottom. Rested about 5 minutes and then made up yesterday's WOD (posted results there).

1 x 255
1 x 275
1 x 305

Finished with some max benches. Worked up to 235, not bad for me.

Then, do I dare say, Pappas and I did Tabata Hang Power Cleans with the empty bar. We got 15 reps on all rounds and our forearms cramped up about round 3. This is not a nice exercise.

The Pitts/Moore summit continues:

Lots of ring work this morning with many near face-plants during tuck planches and other transitions; tried MU situps from Tyler's DVD (much, much harder than we anticipated), and lots of L-sit variations. Then we amused Stan with our painful attempts at psoas releases and finished with a five mile hike through the New Hampshire wilderness (rescued a turtle and a dead snake). Did not rescue the dead mouse on the trail.

Just removed a virus from our computer. Yesterday we did some pullups and pushups as we didn't have the equip for the WOD.

Today we will do the WOD with a mop handle.

Richard & Felicia :)

1 x 255 (miss, but got a litle further up)
1 x 255 (screamed, but no luck)

Finished with max bench 205. St.Clair-great job on the 315 squat. Don't do tabata hang power cleans like we did, I still can't feel my forearms.

Front squats:

3x47kg
3x47kg
2x52kg
2x52kg
2x52kg
2x57kg
2x57kg

All weights were *way* too light, but I don't have a rack so I had to clean the weight up 1st. I tried 62kg but couldn't clean it.

Finished with a few hack squats:
2x69.5kg
2x72.5
2x80
2x80

None of it really troubled my quads. Need a rack

Comment #24 - Posted by: Pat at June 22, 2004 11:49 PM

1-2. 185x3
3-5. 205x2
6. 215x1
7-9. 225x1 (missed 7th and 9th set)
10. 215x1 (missed)
11. 135x10 (front squats)

Comment #25 - Posted by: Cyrus at June 23, 2004 3:12 PM

No squat racks so I deadlifted up to 230# -- a new PR.
