Those are damn cool. I dig the Big Dog, Medium Dog, Little Dog progression.

Thanks Pappas,
We started off calling our advaced group the "Big Dogs". Some of the people in the other groups didn't want to be left out and started calling themselves the "puppies".

I had planned on making this a true rest day. My wife had other ideas. She took me out on a leisurely 5k run. Probably not in my best interest, but sometimes you gotta compromise. As one comedian remarked, "Happy wife . . . happy life" :-P

Besides, I guess I'd rather be running the 5K myself than having a disgruntled wife using a fireman's carry on me for that distance (good one, Lynne).

Our time was about 28 minutes.

No rest for the pull-up-deficient;

Tested max pull-ups: 16. Tested max ring dips: 9.
Then, without resting, did pull-ups and ring dips for ~20 minutes. Totaled 80 pull-ups and 40 dips including the test sets.

Warmed up with jump-rope and uninspiring cartwheel and handstand practice. Finished with a couple sets of Janda Sit-ups alternated with hanging leg raises and a couple sets of bootstrappers alternated with a few jump-rope turns.

Just got back from my first bouldering experience up around Boone, NC. A very humbling experience, to say the least. I wouldn't have been able to do anything if not for all the pullups and ab work the WODs give me, but my fingers are raw and my forearms are smoked! A lot of fun, though. Some of the people I saw rivaled gymnasts in their ability to control their bodies; amazing stuff.

Oh god. Box jumps earlier in the week are still killing my calves. I must have pulled and/or overtrained both sides. Oddly enough though, running feels fine. Had a foot pursuit this evening with positive results. Walking is what pains the most. Oh well. Catches the suspects off guard when you sprint up and hobble away.

Chris--

We hit both; the "Mushroom" at Blowing Rock and the boulders at Grandmother. There were some wet spots, but over all, it was dry (the driest it's been in a couple of weeks, according to the locals). It rained like crazy as we were leaving--I hope it doesn't spoil the climbing for you. Check out the "Witness This" video if you haven't already seen it. You can pick it up at Footsloggers and it has a lot of the local routes on it.

Ryan, fireman's carry is for when I'm feelin' all lovey. You don't want to know about the disgruntled carry... ;^)
