So much for the car keys.

9:56 255 lb deadlifts

Deadlifts were easy but burned out on the ring dips after the second set. Last three sets were broken.

Comment #2 - Posted by: Kevin A. at June 14, 2004 5:20 AM

Deadlifts 365lbs made it ok so i'll go for 405 next time
No rings yet so regular dips with 25lb plate
Few headrush moments for the last couple of sets. Time 31min.
My first CrossFit workout. Loved it. Cool.

Comment #3 - Posted by: bohdi at June 14, 2004 5:38 AM

225#. 19:45.

I completed the first set of dips in one go; it took some bouncing and kipping on the last rep, though. The other dip sets were all broken.
Warmed up with jump-rope and a few light O-lifts. Just jumping rope is beginning to get easy; I;ll start practicing the double-unders soon. Finished with Janda Sit-ups, double-KB windmills, and windmills.

Bohdi-
Kreiki!!!! That is pulling some weight! For a little fun try this same workout in about a week. Use say 255 on DL and no weight on dips. Try to complete the WO in less than 9 min. It is a completely different stimulus!
Excellent work today

Forgot about the timing thing.

Trap bar deadlifts

Comment #6 - Posted by: Luke at June 14, 2004 7:16 AM

9:45 / 225 lb
too light on DL - next time I would start around 275 lb

Comment #7 - Posted by: Steve M at June 14, 2004 8:28 AM

8:58 / 265# (1.5*BW)

no problems deadlifts.
ring dips: 10, 10, 10, 5-5, 5-4-1

Comment #8 - Posted by: steve h at June 14, 2004 9:47 AM

Started the WOD with 3x5 TSC pullups with 25# and 3x5+5 with 26# kb for TSC pistols. The pullups were very easy, touching clavicles to the bar. Right leg pistols were easy; the left was more of a struggle but I did get them all, only losing my balance twice with that leg.

4:33 - 185# trap bar deadlifts (all dead stop between reps), ring dips

I went real light on the deadlifts thinking that the pistols would hurt the effort. I should have used 225# instead. Ring dips were very strong with no breaks.

Finished the WOD with another set of pullups and pistols using the same reps and weights as before. Added a set of full range HSPUs off stools for a surprisingly easy set of 5.

Comment #9 - Posted by: kelly at June 14, 2004 9:53 AM

Used 225# for the deadlifts, rings for dips. Broken ring sets starting with round 3. I could have probably added weight for the deadlifts, but I don't want to go too nuts until my 10 months is up. Time was 5:08.

Comment #10 - Posted by: Ryan Atkins at June 14, 2004 10:32 AM

7:00 dead.

Was not sure on the weight for the deadlifts and so went way too light. Completed all 5 sets no worries using 154lbs, (90% body weight). Thus the time. Will need to thrash myself tomorrow in order to make up for missing out!

Comment #11 - Posted by: fish at June 14, 2004 11:15 AM

Five rounds for time of:
Deadlift 7 reps (no breaks, outer grip)
Bar dip 10 reps (no breaks)

Rd1 135# (64% of PR)
Rd2 155# (74% of PR)
Rd3-5 175# (83% of PR)

Total time= 9:07

Finished off WOD with bench press on the glut-ham apparatus 4sets 10x 30# then 3sets 10x 40#

Comment #12 - Posted by: jdg at June 14, 2004 11:55 AM

135 x 7
225 x 7
275 x 7 x 4
10 standard dips between (no rings available)
Rounds were straight thru but had to help change plates for my partner as he was going lighter.
Time under 15 minutes...

Used 185 for all five sets of deadlifts.Still taking it easy on the low back, hence the light weights.
First three sets of ring dips unbroken, last two broke into two mini-sets of 5's.

Comment #14 - Posted by: Matt Toupalik at June 14, 2004 12:08 PM

10:30
255# for DL's
25 rep sets of regular dips with shoulders below elbows. Last two sets of dips were broken.

Ever notice how people in the gym give you funny looks when you are walking around with blood running down your legs and into your shoes?

Comment #15 - Posted by: Chris Schmidt at June 14, 2004 1:26 PM

5:56.42

225 lbs. for the deadlifts...I should have gone heavier (maybe 250-275). Ripped through this one pretty good.

I started the day off with a run (2 miles) - swim (1 mile) - run (2 miles). Runs were completed at 14 mins. and the swim in just over 23 minutes (w/a drag suit). I could feel the pullups (and lat work) from yesterday with each stroke this morning.

Comment #16 - Posted by: Matt G. at June 14, 2004 1:32 PM

Didn't do it for time, as I'm new to DL's and wanted to concentrate on form. Also didn't want to throw anything out. 160# on 'em. It was probably too light, but I'll put on more down the road.

Comment #17 - Posted by: Gunnar at June 14, 2004 1:44 PM

8:51
275 lb load for the DLs
Bar dips instead of ring. Warmed up with some bench press.

Comment #18 - Posted by: Cyrus at June 14, 2004 2:47 PM

14.09
Used 225 for first set, 245 for remaining sets.
Did 15 straight bar dips in place of ring dips.

'scuse the triple post; every time I hit "submit" I got a weird database error which said I couldn't post. But lo and behold, apparently it posted.

Comment #23 - Posted by: Lynne Pitts at June 14, 2004 5:45 PM

15 minutes
225# DL
15 bar dips (no rings available)
Grip was the limiting factor on the DL

Comment #24 - Posted by: Tony B at June 14, 2004 5:53 PM

9:14

Bwt - 180
DL - 245

I used 15 reps for the dips becuase I don't have rings. Tough little workout.

Comment #25 - Posted by: chad stclair at June 14, 2004 6:28 PM

No weights... we did dips.

No rings used regular dip bars
dead lift weights were as follows 205, 225, 245, 255, 265, 275.
no broken sets on the DL or the dips.

Comment #27 - Posted by: PHIL at June 14, 2004 8:04 PM

9:33

Bodyweight = 180
DL = 225

The deads flew by, inspired by watching Matt Mast on the CrossFit DVD. I used 15 reps for the dips because St.Clair doesn't have rings...yet...coming soon.

Ring dips. Broken after first set. Last 2 sets form suffered. I tried to go too fast.

Time: 4:25

More importantly, I picked up my C2 model C rower this evening. I am STOKED! I can't wait to try it out tomorrow.

225lbs d/l & ring dips, forgot to set the clock.
Last three sets of the d/ls were broken & had to strap on a belt. Dips were flyin'. Felt very motivated this morning after watching CFs new DVD.Fantastic, keep it up Crossfit.

8 mins.

DL-315# unbroken
BW-225

Comment #37 - Posted by: George at June 15, 2004 7:23 PM

Not sure of the time and had to substitute pushup for dips (am making a place to dip now, two chair backs seemed kind of scary...)
Used 205 for deadlifts and was a little too easy. Will use 225 next time (although my lower back is sore the day after - logging in late.)

Comment #38 - Posted by: Stephen at June 16, 2004 6:47 AM

135 on the DL's - too light

I wanted to mix some running in so I added a couple of 440's. Workout as follows:

Deadlift: BWx7
dips: 10 reps
run 440
repeat below twice:
Deadlift: BWx7
dips: 10 reps
Deadlift BWx7
dips: 10 reps
run 440

Time: 14:42
Bodyweight was to light on deadlifts, will increase next time.
Great workout.

Deads @
1x102kg
1x92kg
3x82kg

Reduced the weight as my glutes were complaining from the lunges... I like the lighter sets better anyway - did them a lot faster so it really got the heart racing.

1st set of dips unbroken; the rest split...

Comment #43 - Posted by: Pat at June 17, 2004 12:40 AM
