This is gonna take a while...

Yep. I fought the WOD and the WOD won. Met pukie for the first time after the fifth run. Finished that at 29:01 and called it quits.

Crossfit, you never cease to suprise me.

Comment #2 - Posted by: Dan at May 8, 2004 2:17 PM

Ah crap. I did push presses rather than power cleans. I've got to start writing this stuff down.

Y'all;
Its 94 degrees down here in SC. COACH this was a MOTHER of a WOD... I had to row today instead of run but @ lesst 60 70% of this WOD was spent on the zillion power cleans as prescribed... each mega set was brokes into mini tri sets of 7. Anyway this old man is somewhat embarassed to post this time...get your sun dial out ..sir no excuse sir 40:57

38:04 - 65# full squat cleans, ring pullups

Dave, I agree with you. This was a killer WOD. 54 degrees here, with 100% humidity (fog and mist) and mud to slog through from the thunderstorms last night. I'd like to blame the weather conditions for my time, but that had little to do with it. This workout was simply painful. The runs were slow and got slower, the squat cleans managed to stay crisp and deep but needed more rest breaks, and the pullups had three straight sets of 15 before needing a breather. The next two sets broke at 10 - at least my aerobically challenged pullups are getting better.

My grip is fried, my back from top to bottom is finished and there is an impressive puddle of sweat under the clean bar. I'm glad this workout is over.

Kelly;
It looks like this was a tough WOD regardless of the surface conditions & temp. I cant imagine anyone having a time much faster than yours... it is impressive!

This workout was AWESOME! Coach...way to get us (well, me at least) treading the line between OK and hurling. All runs were sub-1:35. I only had to break up the last set of PCs (14/7) and the last set of pullups (10/5).

Comment #7 - Posted by: Matt G. at May 9, 2004 8:00 AM

BTW...PCs were at the prescribed 95lbs.

Comment #8 - Posted by: Matt G. at May 9, 2004 8:02 AM

29:20.0

Brutal. Substitute 500m C2 for run. Reduced load after 1st round to keep pukie at bay and enable straight sets. 65# power cleans and js assisted pullups for rounds 2-5.

Killer time Matt!

Comment #9 - Posted by: steve h at May 9, 2004 9:41 AM

I liked this one a lot!

36:00 with the following modifications:

Row 400m
65# power cleans (broken 12/9 on last two sets)
5 pullups (my max)

Totally drenched!

I feel a sense of accomplishment in having a slightly faster time than Dave K; there's hope for me yet. But to his credit and my shame, I cheated. By the 3rd round I too was doing mini-sets of both PC's and chins (7 and 5, respectively), but I alternated them instead of doing all 21 and 15 consecutively.
It's pretty warm here in Chicago.

Comment #11 - Posted by: SteveS at May 9, 2004 11:39 AM

what's the conversion from run distance to C2 rowing distance?

Comment #12 - Posted by: Andy P. at May 9, 2004 12:34 PM

OK, now I'm pissed! All you f%#^ers who posted times under 30 minutes - you SUCK! That was rediculous! Took me 39:26 and I'm wiped out! I did do the whole thing - 95# PC and 15 pull ups...

The power cleans took their toll, surprisingly enough, on my forearms...I'm typing this with "club-like" fingers!

By the way, I'm finding that I'm so much stronger, motivated and more powerful during the WOD when I've training with my iPod on and the tunes cranked! Music makes an amazing amount of diffence when I'm training on my own!

I'm a day behind for this set of WODs.. Can't wait to do this one tomorrow after these posts!!

Sat. WOD today:
Complete as many rounds as you can in twenty minutes of:
35 Squats (no broken sets)
25 Push-ups (all broken; most 10,10,5)

7 complete rounds + 21/35 Squats before 20min time. Squats ass to ankles, push-ups chest to deck.

This WOD play to my weakest point, the pushups slowed me down...

Nice work everyone!Beats my time of 42:33.Did this one with Mark Mueller and if it hadn't been for him, my time would have been closer to 50 minutes.
Also, had to reduce the load on the cleans from 95 pounds to 75 pounds and did them from the hang position.

Comment #15 - Posted by: Matt Toupalik at May 9, 2004 4:23 PM

Killer workout. Totally drained - forearms wiped out.

33:06

I am tapping guys in JJ that I never did before and I am sure it is due to the time I can spend on the mat in an anaerobic state.

Steve: 36 minutes per spec

Debbie: 36 minutes 10 Seconds

I slowed down a lot after three.

Comment #18 - Posted by: Jeff W at May 9, 2004 8:29 PM

This was hard,PC destroyed me
PC 40kg broken into 3s
Chins plams aways broken in 5s
42.37

Comment #19 - Posted by: Andy at May 9, 2004 9:17 PM

I am now officially humbled.

I tried this WOD on Monday morning, and only finished 3 sets in 42 minutes. My upper back and forearms are fried from the power cleans and pull-ups. By the end, I was doing single pull-ups till I could finish the set.

This gives me a great review of the areas that I need improvement. :)

Comment #20 - Posted by: Dave O at May 10, 2004 6:23 AM

attempted this on monday ... pain in left fore arm developed in round 3 PCs ... finished last 800k of running ... 24:30

i estimate, had i been able to finish, my time would have been about 42:00

even though i had to cut this one short, i'm still blasted ... PCs and PUs are a nasty combo

Couldn't get to the gym yesterday, so I left it for this afternoon. Cleans were from the ground, and runs had to be done on a treadmill. For whatever reason, my lats were burning from the first pullup on. It's curious because I haven't done anything to strain them in a few days, and it made the pullups go very slowly.

Comment #22 - Posted by: Cyrus at May 10, 2004 4:11 PM

39:10; 70# power cleans; 500 m rows on the C2.
30 min unit PT run this afternoon.

4 goals for this WOD: a) survival, b) 40 min or less, c) all rows under 2:30, and d) all pullups unbroken. Made all but d)-had to break the last set at 8/7 due to forearm failure. All sets of PCs split around 12-9.

Time= 24:07

I had to change the workout somewhat. I did:
5x(10 pullups +20 dumbell press of 10 lbs + 440 run). After the first set, I could only do 3 pullups in a row--then that dropped to 2 in a row. I did the 440s between 2:06 and 2:15s.

Comment #25 - Posted by: Terry at May 11, 2004 6:39 AM

Holy grip killer! Had to break pull-ups after the 1st round, power cleans broken after round 2. Runs on treadmill @ 3 degree incline. Speed set at 6.6. Time was 26:14.

Great to see you posting your times again, Cyrus!

Comment #26 - Posted by: Ryan at May 11, 2004 9:02 AM

Four rounds, 39:57.

Runs @2%, 9:30 pace.
Cleans from hang start, first round 21, then by 7s.
Pullups by 3s on 0:30.

Ugh.

Comment #27 - Posted by: Chris K at May 12, 2004 5:03 PM

I need to write these down. I forget. Felt good though.
