That's a 56 pounder, so it's someone who does Highland Games. Dan John?

Why the hell are we giving kids slides and jungle gyms when we have all this great stuff lying around?

That looks sweet. A whole bunch of squats, drag the sled..then shoot a deer for dinner. And some beer. That's the life.

Guilty!

I know a lot of athletes will be jealous because of the excellent facilities that I train in daily. In winter, we have the ability to train in snow and slush in zero degrees, then warm up in summer to over 110 and desert sun. (The bars actually hurt to pick them up as they seem to draw all the heat to them. We have to cover the Farmer Bars with towels, otherwise, you simply can't carry them in to put them away.)

There is nothing like doing a full workout back here with snatches, front squats, sleds, Farmer Walks, shot putting, discus throwing, Highland Gaming, stone tossing and a bizarre combination or two...all with thousands of geese, ducks and various birds watching.

Awesome.... that gym bests the vast majority of "health club" gyms out there regarding functionality, efficacy, price, etc., etc. Too cool.

I just got back from gymnastics. For the WHOLE thing, my traps, shoulders, and back were extremely sore. Then, at the end of the session, the coach had us do 12 pullups, 8 behind-the-neck pullups, and 10 handstand pushups. A mere trifle for most at crossfit, but for I, it wasn't pretty.

Dan,

That is a great gym with a fantastic view! I like it!

Yes, I see my bars which are a part of the Murray Institute for Lifelong Fitness.

It can only be Dan John's backyard...
