I warmed up using the broomstick and the 15# bar. Worked on shrugging hard and getting under the bar. I probably should have stayed with the light bar, but decided to do the sets with a 45# bar. My form was definitely not as good despite my efforts.
I had purchased two tall rubbermaid-type stools that would allow me to practice working a greater range of motion during HSPUs. Much to my surprise, I pushed out four consecutive HSPUs with my hands past my shoulders! This lift, unlike those damn levers, is coming along at a tremendous pace. I find it amazing that some movements come along so quickly, and others are such a struggle. I WILL get a front lever...
Once again, thank you Robb. My elbow is healing much faster than it has in the past.
My back felt a little tweaked today so I did 8 sets of 2 reps with 75% of my 1 rm on the hang snatch and then 2 sets of 15 reps of overhead squats.
I wimped out today.
My shoulders (too many dislocations)were too grumpy to try the snatches with the BB. So ......
I took my 32kg kettelbell out to the backyard and did 15-12-9 one handed swings. That was the first time I did more than 5 reps in one set. I heard Pukie humming in the background but he behaved himself.
I finished with 15-12-9 snatches with the 16kg kettlebell.
I was a good workout and the shoulders aren't complaining too much.
Have a good day all.
My legs are still fried from the squats and 400's a couple of days ago. I therefore substituted power snatches from the hang for snatches.
15-12-9 reps @ 45kg (99lbs). I underestimated this somewhat and could have managed at least 5, maybe 10 kilos more.
I finished off with 5 sets of chins and 10 handstand balances.
Kelly- Glad to hear it...cryotherapy is pretty amazing stuff!
I noticed quite anumber of people being pooped and needing to ratchet down the intensity for this one. Bravo to you all for listening to your body and making this one an active rest.
Ended up doing sets of the "thruster". Going to add some parallette work and practice OL movements with an empty bar.
75 lbs.
Did power snatches from the floor because my shoulders aren't flexible enough to do full squat snatch (collar bone injury). This was a fast workout. I'll use more weight the next time.
Finished off with L-sit.
