CrossFit 701 steps into the CrossFit Affiliate Snapshot. Name: CrossFit 701. Affiliate Owners: Allison Hennings & Nate Keller. Affiliate Since: October 2010. Location: Fargo, ND. Square Footage: 2700. Number of Members: 70+. Number of Trainers: 2 (1 female, 1 male). Describe your Gym Culture in one word: Supportive. Most used piece of gear in your gym: Pull Up bars. Advice you wish you had have been given: Expect some growing pains. What question you would love to ask other affiliate owners: Has it been difficult drawing the line between "friend" & "member"? Workout or movement that elicits the most groans in your affiliate: Running outside, since our weather is less than friendly, we've hit -40 below this winter. And Burpees! Coolest WOD: Whitten or Filthy 50. Favorite CrossFit saying: You'll pass out before you die. Great looking gym. I love the thought that went into the varied heights on the pullup bars and the adjustable squat racks/dip stations. Well done. I actually have friends from High School that are paying members with us. I treat him like a client first, friend second. But, I think it can depend on the type of person too. He is a very professional person so drawing the line was easy for us to do. He is there to train, and be part of the community we have built. The fact that we are friends is not an issue. Comment #6 - Posted by: Eric at March 22, 2011 1:55 PMMy wife and I have struggled a bit with the whole friend thing. We have found the sometimes necessary tough love, a bit hard to give to friends. It is something that we are still working through. We are not yet parents, but I think it is a bit like parenting, you only want what is best for them whether they realize it right away or not. We have had to make "Gym Time" a time when we are more Coach and less friend. Love the look of your gym. It looks like a place I would like to be.
