Iron Major CrossFit steps into the CrossFit Affiliate Snapshot.

Location: Fort Leavenworth, KS.

Square Footage: 6500 sf (In an Army-owned, open-to-all facility).

Describe your gym culture in one word: Inclusive.

Most used piece of gear in your gym: Pull-up bars.

Advice you wish you had been given: How to exert control over groups of free-thinking, strong-willed individuals without charging fees, establishing boundaries or otherwise constraining them.

What question you would love to ask other affiliate owners: What do you do for a Foundations/Fundamentals class? What is your "on-ramp" program like? And how do you keep people coming back?

Workout or movement that elicits the most groans in your affiliate: Burpees (and every variation thereof).

Coolest WOD: Not one single WOD, but our bi-monthly "Bring a Buddy" WOD every other Friday, which usually has a "military mission" theme to it.

Favorite CrossFit saying: "War is the realm of physical exertion and suffering." -- Carl von Clausewitz.

Complete the sentence: CrossFit should . . . work to dispel the myth that "You have to be crazy to do CrossFit: I could never do that."

I've worked out several times at their gym on Ft. Leavenworth. A great facility... I was pretty stoked to find bumper plates and WODs posted on a whiteboard. :) Good times.
