CrossFit Virginia Beach steps into the CrossFit Affiliate Snapshot.

Affiliate Since: 05-27-07.

Greatest joy as a CrossFit affiliate: Watching people grow, helping others past their fears, and dispelling common misnomers about fitness and nutrition.

Wait! There's more . . .

Biggest worry as a CrossFit affiliate: Over-saturation of affiliates in a given area, corporate big box affiliates undercutting small gyms.
Do you Facebook? Or Twitter? Yes, we have both Facebook and Twitter.
Do you blog daily? Yep . . . sometimes more than once.
If you had Coach Greg Glassman's ear, what would you ask him? What's your Fran time? :)
If you could give new CrossFit affiliates one piece of advice, what would it be? Make sure you continue your education outside of a level 1 certificate. Your clients depend on you to keep them safe and to help them grow. You are never done learning or changing.
Complete the sentence: CrossFit is . . . a labor of love.
Biggest lesson you've learned as a small business owner: Learn to delegate, you cannot do it all by yourself.
Using 3 words or less, describe your affiliate culture: Boisterous robust tribe.
Gym dog? Or no gym dog? I would love a gym dog, but we don't have one. Clients regularly bring theirs in though!

It's been nearly 2 sweaty, talking to myself, nearly puking, gasping for breath, occasional napping during a wod filled years for me at CFVB.

Thanks for everything, Thomi!

Thomi,

We have never met but I have heard nothing but good things about you and your box. You deserve all the accolades and credit for helping introduce CrossFit to Hampton Roads. I just opened CrossFit Ocean View in Norfolk and hope to make the same impact in my area. My part of Norfolk is funny. So few people have heard of CrossFit. It is probably like when you started in 07. If you can share any advice for a new affiliate, please call me at 757-375-9291.

We live in a McDonald's culture. We want everything instantly and without effort. And we get annoyed when others around us appear to be getting more results faster. Great athletes are built upon hundreds of hours of hard and dedicated work, undertaken daily under great coaching. Eventually "fruit of labor" grows into a series of healthier more productive people that are happy! No matter what you do for a living one thing is certain – personal productivity & happiness matters!!!

CFVB is the Best! Girl, Thank you for doing what you do the BEST, being an awesome coach & my BFF!

I only worked out at Crossfit VB for a couple months while I was TAD there in VB, but I can say without question that I was treated like a friend and immediately brought in as a member of Thomi's tribe. Thanks for the motivation!
