What do you believe? As an affiliate owner? As a CrossFitter? Post to Comments.

From my affiliate, CrossFit Montgomery County:

I believe that CrossFit has improved my life in such an intense and profound way that I feel obligated to share it with as many people as possible, and that’s why CrossFit Montgomery County exists.
I believe that anything and everything you will ever encounter in every aspect of your life can be drastically improved if approached using the CrossFit model as a metaphor.
I believe that people who think kipping pullups are “cheating” can say whatever they want about how much easier they are right after they post a video of themselves beating Chris Spealler’s legendary 106 consecutive pullups, and until then they should workout with a pair of socks in their mouth.
I believe CrossFitters are part of a very special and global family that shares intangible things mere mortals don’t have the capacity to understand.
I believe women who do CrossFit are, without a doubt, the most beautiful and wonderful women on the planet.
I believe that any average CrossFitter would win immunity on “Survivor” in every single challenge. I believe you can learn more from a barbell, kettlebell, pullup bar, medicine ball, box, and floor than you can from any PhD program in the world.
I believe that if you already know everything, you don’t know anything.
I believe that David Burnett should have a reality show that follows 10 CrossFit Affiliates and shows the world what CrossFit does for their members.
And finally, I believe that the members of my affiliate are the most genuine, hardest working, and overall greatest members any affiliate could ever hope to have.

From my affiliate, Another Level Fitness~Crossfit Nation:

1. I believe at any time, in any condition, one can start Crossfit, stick with it, and improve your life tenfold.

2. I believe lifting heavy weights is not only fun but empowering. Also essential.

3. I believe you are what you eat and what you eat eats. Educate yourself on the food you eat. It's about quality, not quantity.

4. I believe if you don't take care of yourself, no one else will and you have no room to complain if you don't take control of your health.

5. I believe life is exceptional, fun, beautiful, sad, emotional, fantastic, heart breaking, hard, and worth every moment. Learn to experience it fully.

6. I believe in having the most fun you can possibly have in any given situation.

7. I believe everyone should be able to squat, run, jump, do a pull up, climb a rope, do real push ups, and lots of burpees!!!!

8. I believe there are no magic little pills. It takes hard work to get anything you really want. If you're not willing to put in the work you are not entitled to the prize.

9. I believe America needs to get their asses off the sofa, quit listening to the news and living in fear, quit watching other people live their lives and start living their own.

10. I believe a persons will is their strongest asset. Use it, it will take you further than you could ever imagine.

These are just a few things that I believe. Be strong, be empowered. Take control of your situation. Life is all choices. You chose your destiny. You chose your path. Don't be a victim. Be a warrior!!

What I KNOW and BELIEVE:
One Man’s Response To One Woman’s Request

1.I KNOW most movements are best done with hip action perpendicular to line of the body’s projection. I BELIEVE this must be the FIRST principle taught to trainees.

2.I KNOW the Glute-Ham Sit-Up is a hip-flexion development movement. I BELIEVE it is also an excellent abdominal development movement, but not it’s primary role.

3.I KNOW Front Squats are a hip-centric movement. I BELIEVE most see them as a knee centric movement and thus will always see poor results in lifting weight and great results developing knee pain.

4.I KNOW that dynamically strong hamstrings pulling on an up-turned ass, which is held up by a statically strong lower back, is the gateway to heavy lifts. I BELIEVE Glute-Ham Raises and Reverse Hypers are the easiest gateways to having strong hamstrings and a strong lower back. Furthermore, these movements should be done regularly, perhaps as part of the warm-up, or applicable strength will not come close to being realized, let alone potential strength.

5.I KNOW the Prowler Sled is the single best conditioning tool in our arsenal when compared against all of the 10 physical domains and the myriad of physical limitations we have worked with in our affiliate. I BELIEVE the purchase of a second and a third were our best purchases lately. Also, when I hire trainers, their reactions doing a round of Tabata Prowler Pushes will be the first and primary means of the interview process. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Goni8CQ59jM

6.I KNOW gymnastics are the bane of my existence due to a f$%^#ed up shoulder. I BELIEVE that we (CrossFitCHAOS) have drifted away from them due to this and I will redouble our efforts at them.

7.I KNOW the rest day discussions on CrossFit.com piss people off. I BELIEVE most of these people to be pussies.

8.I KNOW the most beneficial aspect of CrossFit is cerebral. I BELIEVE this aspect is largely untapped and we will be proving this to the world within the next year.

9.I KNOW that CrossFit does a good job in increasing testosterone in women, thus increasing sex drive. I BELIEVE this to be a good thing.

10. I KNOW there has been a lot of shit talking about CrossFit by former affiliates. I BELIEVE these former affiliates never really understood CrossFit concepts in the first place, never understood the programming in the second, now use the lessons they learned while they were with Crossfit as their own ideas, and now reject Crossfit because they don’t feel like “Original Gangsta’s” now. Furthermore, I BELIEVE that all they offer now is repackaged CrossFit with their own little twist and will spend most of their time trying to convince the rest of the world that they are indeed “Original”.

What we believe at CrossFit California City!

http://www.crossfitcaliforniacity.com/2009/10/22/what-we-believe-at-crossfit-california-city/

* We believe the day to change your life is today, not tomorrow.
* We believe Family is always first.
* We believe our kids should be exercising harder than us, and we’ll teach them how to do it.
* We believe every milestone, every PR, every goal-achieved is as important as the next. The first time you get yourself to jump on the box is as important as your first muscle-up.
* We believe in the merits of hard work, and that nothing worth achieving is ever easy.
* We believe you get what you pay for.
* We believe young girls are especially vulnerable to the lies this world will tell them about who they are, what they should look like, and what they can accomplish. We believe it is our duty to guide them with the truth.
* We believe in coaching, not babysitting. We believe constantly varied, functional movements, performed at high intensity will make you stronger, faster, and healthier. We believe wearing a cool CrossFit T-Shirt to a big CrossFit box, with apathetic or elitist trainers, will not. To that end, we believe THE MAGIC IS IN THE MOVEMENTS!

From the CrossFit Mom Affiliate. What I believe.

1. I believe that nothing is more beautiful than a woman who is 9 months pregnant, doing pull ups.

2. I believe you should take the standards you use for your workouts and apply them to your every day life.

3. I believe that family who do not understand what you do and why, will try to drag you back to old bad habits of bad food choices and laziness at every turn, so they have company for their misery.

4. I believe that doctors who stay "old school" and never venture into things unknown to them, can possibly do you more harm than good.

5. I believe you can teach an old dog (or man or woman) new tricks.

6. I believe that integrity is the most important quality in a person.

7. I believe that tomorrow might not be there, so you better live and enjoy today.

8. I believe that when you hold a baby, it calms your soul.

9. I believe that 2 or 3 really good friends, are worth all the money in the world.

10. I believe you can take a tired, middle-aged, #250+ mom with no hope of anything more, and turn her into a CrossFitting, butt-kicking, weightlifting, affiliate owning, #100 lighter trainer who loves her life, family and job, because a good friend said it was possible and put her on the path to her destiny.

I believe that elite fitness is within everyone’s grasp.

I believe that a strong community will produce strong individuals.

I believe the cornerstone of training is what you do outside the gym walls. Eat well and rest well.

I believe in celebrating successes.

I believe in facing your fears and living outside your comfort zone.

I believe you need to search for the truth, and not accepting anything at face value. It’s alright to go against the grain.

I believe in providing a safe and supportive environment with high quality coaching.

I believe that pushing through pain will make you mentally tough, and help you overcome some of life’s most difficult challenges.

I believe in constantly varied, functional movements executed at a high intensity. And I believe that is the only way to elite fitness.

I believe in CrossFit. I believe in myself. I believe in each and everyone of you.

I believe in an adherence to standards. Chin over bar, squat below parallel, full extension, and chest to deck.

I believe in competition. Do better than your last performance, the athlete next to you, OPT, Everett, Jolie, etc.

I believe in pride. If you accomplish, brag.

I believe in camaraderie. Encourage others and find delight in their achievements.

I believe in the pursuit of information. The more you know, the more you grow, even if it proves you wrong.

I believe in eating your meat and veggies. Like Momma used to say.

I believe in heavy olympic and basic barbell lifts. If you're not doing them, you're not doing CrossFit.

I believe in having a coach. You may think you're doing it right, but you're not.

I believe your excuses are not welcome. They're demotivating and generally useless.

I believe in doing fun new things. Run, hop, cartwheel, jump, swing, dance, climb, play.

--Thanks Lisbeth for the great idea. So many good beliefs up here!

Comment #14 - Posted by: Rich V. at October 23, 2009 3:37 AM

1. I believe that personal happiness is every man's highest goal.

2. I believe that the ability to yell '3-2-1 GO' does not make one a coach. On the same note - climbing a rope is not a matter of willpower but skill, so is a squat snatch & a muscle up.

3. I believe in a world where John Galt would be president.

4. I believe in Eat Meats & Vegetables, Nuts & Seeds, Some Fruit, Little Starch & No Sugar. To specify: 1-1.5 g Protein per lbs per day, 20-50 g of carbs a day & .5-1.0 g Fat per day is optimal for CF performance when strength training is done on average of 2-3 days a week.

5. I believe that selling Flutter Kicks, Turkish Get ups & Mountain Climbers for time as CrossFit is a con.

6. I believe that the better an athlete you become the more you need a coach. Anyone who disagrees is more than likely not that good of an athlete.

7. I believed that barbell was king. Now I believe that gymnastics is more beneficial & barbell is my number 2.

8. I believe I'm a very lucky guy.

9. I believe that a coach must challenge himself with teaching complex movements with ever increasing difficulty & practice being virtuous with all aspects of his profession.

10. I believe that at 6'3" gymnastics is not impossible!

Comment #15 - Posted by: Leo S at October 23, 2009 4:30 AM

I believe in the life of a child.

They play as we should.

We call this thing we do, CrossFit - they call it living life.

They sprint or they walk, there is no in between. No long distance, slow paced efforts.

They climb and pull and push and jump with all their might, or there is nothing.

They want to play hard and they eat when they are hungry, not when the clock tells them to.

Sometimes they fight and they win, sometimes they fight and they lose. Either way they've learned a valuable lesson.

We worry about our muscle ups and our 30-rep time; Witness a child run to a chair or sofa (or whatever) and pull and press themselves up on to it, and you've got yourself a 3 year-old doing a muscleup. And they do it daily about 50 times.

They are not afraid to learn new skills. Show me a kid who doesn't want to attempt a box jump or a traverse across the monkey bars.

And if they fail, they keep trying. Their is no giving up. They will ask for help if they feel it necessary. We should do the same.

They should encourage you to want to be better, as you encourage them likewise.

Thank you Isabelle and Cole.

I am a real go-getter, or simply long winded, so I did more than 10. Here is what I believe:
- I believe CrossFit will make you a tougher, more mentally strong person- the fact that you kill yourself everyday in the gym lets you believe nothing can hold you down.
- I believe strength will enable you to live a better, longer life.
- I believe you can push harder, do more, and be better than you think- both in and out of the gym.
- I believe that I have the best people coming to CrossFit Lorton- you are like family; ok the crazy aunt and uncle no one likes to talk about but you're still family (kind of).
- I believe I haven't had a bad day of work since January 3, 2008 when I opened that warehouse door.
- I believe that in CrossFit, as in life, you get out what you put in.
- I believe I can take on any physical challenges because of CrossFit.
- I believe in having fun! You should be laughing and having fun until 3-2-1- GO... then you bust ass and should start laughing again as soon as you catch your breath.
- I believe it takes a special person to do CrossFit; by special I do mean that most of us should be wearing a helmet to work.
- I believe only a CrossFitter would spend hours and hours working on weaknesses (I have jump rope whip marks to prove it) when most people only do what they are good at for fear of looking foolish.
- I believe you need to learn how to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.
- I believe you can't push someone to live better, they have to make the decision themselves.
- I believe CrossFit is better and cheaper than seeing a therapist.

Comment #17 - Posted by: Steve- CrossFit Lorton at October 23, 2009 5:58 AM

I believe in the iron. The front squat. The power clean and the push jerk.

I believe that you should back squat in both the high bar and the low bar positions to achieve different goals.

I believe that the writing of most fitness magazines is oversold, unproven, self-indulgent crap.

I believe in no gloves, some chalk, and triple extension as the only path to salvation on the platform. I believe that a full squat clean is a thing of beauty. I believe that yelling in the gym is not only a good thing, but that everyone should do it — in triumph as well as defeat: It’s proof that we’re alive.

I believe in good bars, tight collars, and lowering the bar to the ground in a deadlift, not dropping it from the waist.

I believe in CrossFit. I believe in me. And I believe in you.

2. I believe that CrossFit literally saved my life.

3. I believe that women have been jipped 9sp?) out of happiness because they have been told their whole lives to stay skinny and not be strong.

4. I believe sugar is the devil.

5. I believe that women and men look better in workout clothes than formal wear.

6. I believe lululemon is a godsend.

7. I believe in every athlete who is a member of CrossFit SI.

8. I believe that CrossFit brings out the absolute best in people.

9. I believe that if you want something bad enough, you can achieve it – as cliche as that may sound.

10. I truly believe in the CrossFit methods.

Here is Crossfit Legacy's......

1. I believe in Functional Movement: I plan to live to be a 100….I still want to be repping squats whenever I want.

2. I believe every decision matters: Both the “Yes” and the “No” matter just as much. The Bar does not lift itself, nor does the body become more fit because you want it to. Both require a decision to be made. I don’t care what you want! Show me! Prove to me that you have what it takes!

3. I believe I am stronger than you: Why? Because I am a Crossfitter!

4. I believe in community: Those that come to CF Legacy are my friends and clients. And you know what…people don’t care how much you know…until they know how much you care!! What is the Crossfit community like? How bout someone who doesn’t regularly attend your classes spending 12 hours with you transporting mats to your new box location, after he took the afternoon off to help you out. Ya, it is like that!

5. I believe in Gymnastic Rings: Body Control and body Awareness—manipulate yourself through space on a pair of those, while being able to deadlift a small car…..your an animal.

6. I believe in the Power Clean: Explosive hips, fast elbows….POWER! So what if you can bench press 300lbs, or bicep curl 135lbs! What can you power clean? Can you explode that same weight off the ground and get it to your chest?

7. I believe strong women are beautiful: Yes, you can be elegant, feminine, and beautiful while sporting blisters on your hands from pull-ups and on your thumbs from working the hook grip on a snatch!

8. I believe in Pull-ups: Men, women, children, and grandparents should be doing these. You are never to young to develop muscle and get stronger.

9. I believe in Intensity: If you can watch TV, talk, read, look in the mirror while you are exercising, then you are not working hard enough. Gasping for air, muscles burning, room spinning, sweat dripping, body screaming—just part of the Kool-aid for a crossfitter!

10. I believe fitness is a liftstyle: It is not found in a 8 week or 90 day program: It is a choice. It is a decision. It is not something that falsely motivates people to want to look like someone on a DVD or makes people think that 8 weeks is all they need to look a certain way. Fitness/Health is a process and it takes months and years of dedication to be the absolute best you can be. Don’t be fooled by marketing gimics! It is HARD work that needs to be done, even when you don’t feel like it or you are by yourself! Get to WORK!

Comment #26 - Posted by: Leo S at October 23, 2009 8:11 AM

1 - I believe I've increased what I know about fitness and how to work hard by many orders of magnitude. I believe I started out knowing more than most. I believe I'm still learning every day and that excites me.

2 - I believe that CrossFit can have a larger positive impact on the life of a family member, friend, co-worker, or soon-to-be friend than any other pursuit.

3 - I believe most of the 'diseases of civilization' result from the over-consumption of non-animal foods in general and sugar and high density carbs in particular, and that 20 years from now this will be acknowledged in the main stream. Eating meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit little starch and no sugar is a prescription for a long, full life characterized by the freedom to move however the spirit inspires, being able to give, and being able to enjoy.

4 – I believe that people will work harder to avoid pain than to get pleasure, and I believe everything we do, every day, is the result of our complex and often incorrect beliefs and unconscious associations about how to get pleasure and avoid pain. I believe that CrossFit helps people to re-associate short term pain to long term pleasure. I believe that’s powerful spiritual medicine.

5 – I believe in a daily courage check through the WOD and find the random nature of the WOD to be unique in providing an arena for this courage check.

6 – There’s an often commented pattern of New Year’s resolutions to get fit every January, and marked by attendance at a typical globo gym, these resolutions largely fail by mid February. I believe that is not so much related to the lack of discipline of those involved as it is to the lack off effectiveness of the programming that is chosen. Choosing not to pursue minimally effective fitness programming is not a failure, it is a logical choice about cost benefit analysis (often unconsciously executed). CrossFit changes the equation such that the benefits outweigh the time spent; for example, the time away from family is returned many fold in what CFers have to give their families.

7 – I think the path Coach and Lauren created, the path of functional movements and highly coached, highly skilled athletes who move as their bodies were intended to move, will change the common understanding of ‘What Is Fitness?’ in a generation. The improved quality of life will be un-measurable and magnificent.

8 - I believe each CF practitioner should aspire to learn everything they can from Greg and Lauren and remain open to the inevitable day when someone takes those lessons and advances the state of the art even further (as measured by the standards that Greg and Lauren have made available for that purpose). We should be as loyal to improved work capacity and Greg and Lauren are. Paul

I believe that everyone can snatch, clean, and jerk. And they should.
I believe in teaching something to everyone who comes in the gym. Every day.
I believe that words are meaningless if they aren't confirmed with action.
I believe in sweat angels, chalk, and barbells. Not in gloves, nautilus machines, or ellipticals.
I believe in making mistakes, missing PRs, and making bad decisions. And I believe in learning from them all.
I believe in cheering on the last person to finish - even if it means staying later than expected.
I belive in a good deadlift set-up, the hook grip, and active shoulders.
I believe there are still some good, honest, committed people left in the world. And I believe the best of them are at our gym.

Entry from B...Crossfit Battle Ready

1. I believe in God. Without some kind of divine intervention I would have found a way to screw this up a long time ago.

2. I believe in all of our members. Without your hard work and dedication none of this would exist.

3. I believe Crossfit is the shit!!! Anyone can do it and I have seen too many of my friends and family improve to think anything otherwise.

4. I believe our membership becomes more like a family every day. I am thankful for this. Everyone seems to genuinely care about each-other and is welcoming to all newcomers.

5. I believe I need to admit it is time for a personal change. I am not sure what but I admit I have felt over-worked, under-paid and stressed out lately. I apologize if it has effected my attitude in the gym. I am sure a lot of you can relate and I will work hard at bringing a better attitude with me to the gym each day.

6. I believe in our Fall Fitness Challenge!!! I am very excited so many of you have decided to give it a try!!! I believe it will be a turning point for many of our members. I believe this so much that I am adding an additional prize of a $100 cash money to the winner.

7. I believe that Amos is a great trainer.

8. I believe that we can reach 50 members by December 31st!!! (Current membership is around 30).

9. I believe everyone of our members is a Hero!!! Believe it or not, many of our members are at boot camp, deployed oversees, about to be deployed, winning state championships in their sport, going to school, winning MMA fights, nurses, teachers, cops and emergency responders. And my biggest hero's of all are those of you that keep the world turning every day just being yourselves!!!

10. I believe it is time for our gym to dominate every other gym in Greeley. We have played nice so far but times are changing. If anyone you know has a gym membership anywhere else they are wasting their time!!! Let me say that again...They are wasting their time!!! If they are doing anything other than Crossfit they are wasting their time. If someone is doing something that works bring it to us...we will add it to our training. We are the best around...PERIOD!!! I want all of our members to pound your chests and show the world how bad-ass you all really are. You work hard at it. Be proud.

1. I believe all men should be strong, but it is just as important for women and children to be strong.
2. I believe we should teach our children that food is for nourishment and wellness. It is not for reward and/or punishment.
3. I believe in constantly varied, functional movement, performed at relatively high intensity.
4. I believe rest and recovery are just as important as training itself for consistent gains.
5. I believe life is the sum of opportunities we do or don’t "create" for ourselves. Opportunities are not “given” to us.
6. I believe using someone else’s work is the greatest form of flattery to them. If you don’t acknowledge it is their work, it is also the biggest indication that you suck!
7. I believe everyday we make an impact on someone’s life whether we choose to or not. Whether its positive or negative is our choice!
8. I believe it is important to help others when you have the opportunity and accept help when you need it.
9. I believe every Affiliate should take the time to learn how to program. It is no less important than learning how to coach a C&J, deadlift, snatch, muscle-up, handstand, etc. You do not rely on HQ videos to teach movements for you and solely relying on it for programming is a crutch.
10. I believe our family is the best gift ever given to us.

I believe I belong to the best cult ever.

I believe you either hurt living or you hurt dying.

I believe I will hurt living for a long time.

I believe CrossFit hurts.

I believe when you stop hurting you start dying.

I believe most everything that has already been posted as a belief.

I BELIEVE!

WOW now I really believe we sound like cult members.

I believe in technique before intensity
I believe in building my athletes up, not breaking them down.
I believe you are what, when, how you eat, what you don't excrete and you are the sum of all stressors
I believe whole heartedly in the 12 session 'On Ramp Curriculum' for any new athlete before joining our established group classes.
I believe the mind will always give up before the body
I believe that letting an athlete perform half arse movements will ingrain bad habits and spread like cancer in your box.
I believe in being F...ing hard ,but fair.
I believe in scaling for metcons based off an individuals 1RM to maximise power output.
I believe in feeling, looking and performing better and how they intertwine.
I believe if you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always got!
I believe in 'No Worries'

1. I believe that my body is a temple. What I eat and what I do help me give that temple the respect it deserves. I don’t think anyone would want to worship in a place filled with cholesterol and diabetes whose walls are crumbling and has a shaky foundation.

2. I believe that since I have pledged my life to the service of my country it is my responsibility to stay healthy, not only for the people I protect and defend, but also for myself.

3. I believe you learn the most about yourself during the WODs you have to struggle through, that you want to quit in the middle of, that make you question yourself. I don’t PR on those WODs, but I certainly PR on mental toughness, perseverance, and tenacity.

4. I believe that people who have to resort to snide remarks about the workout program and diet I have chosen for myself are wasting their breath. I can’t hear them over the sounds of my ipod, my beating heart, my labored breathing, and my fellow crossfitters telling me to pick up the f***ing bar.

5. I believe that no matter how bad my day is going, I will forget all about it as soon as I hear ‘3-2-1-GO’.

6. I believe that women need to stop thinking they can’t go heavy, can’t do a workout with the men’s prescribed weight, and can’t do a workout because they will get muscles that make them look like a man. Unless you’re using an artificial substance to enhance your performance you will never look that way, but you might turn into a fire-breathing Amazon warrior woman who can bench-press her bodyweight, jump over walls, do more pull-ups than the average person on the street, and lift very heavy things over her head without breaking a sweat. Can’t is not in my vocabulary and it’s about time to take it out of yours.

7. I believe that if the people in my gym using the cybex equipment actually knew what an Olympic platform was and what it was for, they would stop complaining to the gym staff about the ‘noise the Crossfit people make when they drop the weights’.

8. I believe that just because I train others doesn’t mean I don’t still have a lot to learn. And I hope I never stop learning new ways to improve my fitness and the fitness of others because it is something that I love to do.

9. I believe that if workouts were easy they would be called easyouts. It’s called a workout because it requires you to work in order to accomplish it. I also believe that the work you do outside the gym for the other 23 hours in your day is just as important as the work you do inside.

10. I believe in my Crossfit family and they believe in me.

I believe that Crossfit realy has saved my life.

I believe that the kool-aid tastes great, even when Uncle Pukie spanks you

I believe that I scare people at the globo with intensity, movement, weight and speed - but I like it!

I believe that I do have an addiction to exercise - And the Crossfit really does smoke you like bad crack.

I believe that I crossfit is a cult but I don't care.

I believe that there will be zombies someday - and that stronger people are harder to kill and generally more useful.

I believe that a workout isn;t complete until you have blood, sweat and tears (or at least 2 out ot 3)

I believe that crossfit 'chicks' are hot, even if they can crush me.

I also believe that a perfectly performed squat really is a thing of beauty.

At lastly, I believe that crossfit will evolve. And I plan on being there to see it.

I believe human potential is limitless.
I believe we can always be better.
I believe the institution comes before the individual.
I believe in the power of the written word.
I believe wealth is the byproduct of passion.
I believe every problem is a test.
I believe in personal responsibility.
I believe in intensity.
I believe character can be taught.

Best,

Jon

As requested on the affiliate blog , here are CFH's 10 believes...

I believe people are capable of more than they think. CrossFit shows them that.

I believe that everyone is a student...a coach can learn just as much from a client as the client can from the coach.

I believe the mental and emotional challenge of CrossFit is just as important as the physical challenge.

I believe food is our greatest tool to good health...and our worst enemy.

I believe CrossFit is HARD...and everyone can do it!

I believe all police officers, fire fighters and military should CrossFit...it could save your life.

I believe kids should CrossFit and have fun doing it! It is our obligation as parents to teach our kids healthy lifestyle habits. CrossFit will help them overcome many of life's obstacles.

I believe anyone who cheats their range of motion or leaves out reps for a faster time is only cheating themself.

I believe coaches should practice what they preach...set the example.

I believe Linkin Park wrote their music specifically for CrossFit WODs!

Comment #46 - Posted by: Beth - CrossFit Hollister at October 23, 2009 11:14 PM

I am not an affiliate owner or coach - I am a client, and this is what I believe.

1. I believe CrossFit has changed my life for the better.

2. I believe my coach when he tells me, " I know you can do this....Now pick that bar up!"

3. I believe that just because I can finish first on a lot of WOD's doesn't mean I am the best.

4. I believe in the environment of encouragment my coach fosters.

5. I believe that I was shitty at double unders in the beginning too.

6. I believe in the extra skills my coach adds to the WOD's.....plyos, ladders, LSA, etc.

7. I believe I show up for class 45 mins early because I enjoy being there.

8. I believe in ass to the ground Olympic lifts.

9. I believe I need to work on my Thrusters.....

10. I believe in SPARK Sport Conditioning.

I believe we have a mind, a body and a spirit. I can only speculate as to how and why I came to have these resources but I believe that any day that passes without challenging or nurturing these resources is wasting the only thing that I've got. Conveniently, CrossFit seems to tend to all three.

I believe in macking a half gallon of choc chip cookie dough ice cream at least once a month. I also believe adding a couple sleeves of M&Ms is a reasonable way to up the mmm mmm good factor.
