The gang at CrossFit Laguna Beach (CA) at -- where else? -- the beach!
Fun. How important is a sense of fun to a successful CrossFit affiliate?
More TV time for affiliates:
CrossFit Allegiance (OR) gets
on air, as does
CrossFit Milford (CT) with
this studio piece.

That's my girl Lu! XFA represent!!
It's always fun doing WODs on the beach because:
1) You get bewildered stares from the beach goers.
2) You get to work on your tan.
3) You can cool off by jumping in the ocean post WOD.
4) And...oh yeah...you get a really good workout.
Props to our head trainer and gym owner, Jimi Letchford, for making us go play outside.
Atta girl LU! Your doing it girl, your really doing it!
The old quote "It doesn't have to be fun to be fun" comes to mind. :o)
At our box, we encourage everyone to interact, to encourage, to compete. Everyone has fun in some sense. If not, we'd be out of business.
congrats milford on the TV spot. Fun is the rule of thumb at our box, there is enough boring gyms out there already. It's another differentiator between crossfit and globogyms.
Great coverage Jason! Nice job on the interview as well! Keep CrossFit growing in CT!
Fun and the community go hand in hand. The fun is in the competition, in the smiles, hand shakes, encouragement and high fives during and after workouts. If these are in place, your workout can be at a park, beach of gym and everyone will have fun.
Congrats on the TV Spot, and I sure wish we had a beach like that near our box - that looks like fun =) I agree with the other posters so far - Fun is an essential element and major differentiator between CrossFit and fitness as usual globo gyms. Call it a sport, a game, friendly competition, whatever - CrossFit's measurement of workouts and constant variation is a key to fun for our clients.
