CrossFit Odyssey (VA) gets some tug of war into their beach workout.

The end of summer is approaching for some of the US affiliates, but that means bupkus to those affiliates in warmer climates. Tell us your favorite outside WODs and how many months of the year you're able to utilize the outdoors. (And, has anybody ever wished they lived in a colder climate?)

Cynergy CrossFit (MA) didn't go to the beach, but they managed to load some water (and fun) into a parking lot workout: Video.

We train outdoors year-round here at CrossFit Fredericksburg. I live in Virginia and the climate is temperate enough to support my CrossFit family doing our WODs outside every day. Only factor for cancellation is thunder/lightening. Favorite WODs include a modified Andy-P (lunges instead of pull-ups) followed by sprints on the hill, Fight Gone Bad and Filthy Fifties.

Most fun we had outdoor was a team wod. We had 5- 4 person teams. Each team had to complete a 1 mile medball run(20 lbs) and then 400 squats,300 sit ups,200 pull ups,200 box jumps and then finish with 10,000 lbs overhead anyway. Was a great time!

Our great coach at BULLDOG CROSSFIT, Gio Salazar, used to a run CF class at a park. The only catch, Chicago winters. We did rows, kb's, pullups, you name it. Nothing like outdoor training in the cold with ice and snow. No excuses, just work harder

I love the overhead water bucket zig zag.

Looks like a great time.

Jason.....I'm suprised you did not pull everyone with no additional help! haha! You're a beast, dude.

I know I owe you a phone call too. I'm in the Seattle area, back in VB in about a week. We need to link up so you can stomp my in a WOD.

I've grown up in CA, but have always loved the winter time. I desperately would love to live in a climate that has 4 distinct seasons, such as the Colorado area, to see what it's like. How would life for my family be? How would it effet my training? I'll never know till I try.

Fav outside WOD? Has to be a run/pull up combo. I've got a circular route mapped in my neighborhood that is almost exactly 400m. Makes it nice leave and arrive at the door for the run.

And as to weather, I live in Arkansas, so almost anytime I do an outdoor WOD, I work up a sweat. Would it be nice to be a bit further North where the weather is cooler? Maybe. Maybe not, though.

SFBB CrossFit is located in South Florida so we have the ability to train outside year round. Now the end summer means that we could turn off the a/c, open our bay doors, and have more running WODs.

I ran an outdoor program as a satellite of CFLA for about a year, here in Los Angeles. We had classes 5 days a week at a local park, between our morning and evening classes. I think out of the entire year I maybe canceled 4-5 classes due to rain and that's it.

We run an outside affiliate all year round. We are fortunate to live in one of the most desirable places in California (Santa Barbara). It never gets hotter than 90 degrees, and the lows are bearable to rock sweat pants and shirts for the colder months.Only real downside are fires every now and again.

We are at 8,000 above sea level, in a box canyon, in the middle of the San Juans in southern Colorado. Darn near perfect. Ice climbing, rock climbing, skiing...the possibilities and opportunities are endless. The question is really, snow, or no snow.
