Trainer Jim M., head trainer/owner Adam Eidson, and Rise W. of RARE CrossFit hitting handstands and a good photo-op at the same time.
(On a different note, Rise was a competitive college gymnast 20 years ago but had not done a single pull-up since then. Eight weeks of CrossFit later, she can do 10 in a row.)
You know what's rare? To have a community like ours, where affiliates cooperate and encourage each other in the pursuit of fitness and business success. We are all in this together. So, if you find yourself verbally attacking another affiliate or trying to undermine their success, check yourself. Wouldn't it be better to just pour that energy into making your own affiliate a better experience?

Nice pic Rare and as if Murph isn't bad enough, somwbody had to add a swim. nice going guys.
On a different note,we had Jason Rhabdo Kaplan in our box this weekend to throwdown Fran with some of our firebreathers and it was unbelievably cool. Rhabdo is a great guy and I watched him crush a legit 2.08 ! One of our guys wasn't far behind with a 2.36 . I'm working on editing a video of it that maybe we can get posted. Thanks Rhabdo!
Brandon, your swim technique looks like a bear going after a salmon in the river. Keep up the good work buddy!
I couldn't agree more.
One: almost everyone I have dealt with in the CrossFit community has been overwhelmingly supportive. (The one instance where someone was more standoffish, I will assume was just bad timing on my part.)
Two: I attempt to help anyone that comes to me.
CrossFit has given me an opportunity to help others, and myself. I try and give back where I can.
Thanks to all, I feel humbled and proud to a part of this.
Lisbeth is totally right. The afformentioned statment reminds me of what coach has said a number of times. The quicker the CF saturation in the community the quicker you fill ur boxes. Its beter to b one of five that to be the only 1 just out of fear of scarcity. The boxes that spew bad vibes about their local brothers are truly only hurting themselves, and it doesn't help anyone when they let their athletes do the same. And yes u have total control over ur athletes, when they are training, and if u make sure it doesn't happen in house there is less chance to happen out of house.
A continued strive toword excellance of training, and uniting as the bastions of fitness should be commonplace, and I would imagine it usually is. If ur trying to hurt the integrity of another CF, ur not only killing ur personal integrity, ur trouncing the name we are lucky to be able to use. Down the road CF will still be there......with a bad attitude like that u won't.
couldn't watch that murph video, the second guys squat form was horrible, was this his first workout?
also did you guys get showered and changed after the swim? I was expecting some poolside murph action, with the running subbed for the swim, and pullups possible subbed for something else (kb swings? 1 butterfly stroke?)
good effort, but don't be afraid to mix things up a little more
I would also encourage all new affiliates to reach out to your local brethren and include them in your plans and initiatives. You may find some big help and insights to save you money and help you grow.
On the other hand, if you take down space within 2 miles or purchase our name as a keyword on your site and don't give us a simple 'heads up' we might take it the wrong way.
To #6-No, it wasnt his first workout-he's been doing Crossfit about a month and a half-got a 6:50 Jackie and a 7:41 Helen, though--but yea, he saw the vid and knows his 6'5" frame doeesn't always break parallel. And no, we didn't get showered before we did it. We got right out of the pool (which is right inside the gym) put shoes and a shirt on (gym policy) and got after it. Sorry it didn't meet your expectations, next time we'll swim with the weight vest too, and do pullups off of the ladder that goes into the side of the pool. Then you can approve.
Oh yea and to #2 James, lol, I know my swim form is just GARBAGE bro... I almost drowned in a 4ft pool it was so bad, that's one reason we keep doing these swim WOD's, to try and improve it... Im gonna come down there to Kennesaw and let you teach me how, but only if you'll wear that little red speedo you love so much. :-)
Brandon
glad to see that you murdered the swim. ;)
send my love to everyone in GA
I agree totally with Lisbeth's comment. We continue to help any affiliate who is need. But what happens when you experience a negative (trainer) client who is asked not to come back because of their negative attitude and rep counting and ROM. In return goes and gets CF Certified and then tries to open an CF affiliate a block away in a 24/7 Globo gym. All this while continuing to knock our CF affiliate. Hard to keep my mouth shut on this one.
Awesome job on "aqua murph"! that looks like a tough one. i definitly want to try this some time. good push guys....
I do have to ay, I have dealt with some interesting and challenging business ethics here in town and continue to agree with what is being said here. Every time this affiliate name comes up, I get excited and offer up knowledge that I have about the trainer there, giving him props and wishing him well. It is always challenging to have someone with less than ethical behavior around, but all we can do is pump them up and promote them to members or crossfitters. It is about spreading the word, getting people to try it, become addicted and get fit for the first time in their lives, or to enhance change and make them feel more fit than they were! Here is to ALL of our success!!!
